Foods Veg - Too much too Oftan bad? Oct 19 2009

Are you from Nuremberg? lol

Anyway, I think the AMOUNT you describe is just fine. However, I tend to bloat / have more gas whenever I eat CERTAIN veggies (like, onions, of course).

Might be just certain vegetables that your body doesn't like. ?!

Me too and I also eat tomato puree right from the tube!!! It's not a proper meal without tomatoes if you ask me!!!

Yep that last sentence about sums it up.

I do eat a lot of other vegetables / salads, too, ... which means that I eat large quantities of food. Not good.

But today, I only ate 3 (large ones!!) hehe!!

I've been having the same problem for a few days now, and I can tell for sure that it has to do with stress... not sure if that applies to you, too. But I know that I'll be back to normal as soon as the weekend comes. Well, I hope!! ;)

if I don't have a lot of healthy, or at least somewhat-healthy food near, I end up buying stuff that a) I don't really like b) has too many calories c) is way too expensive d) makes my cravings worse.

I forgot to ask one more question.

What do you eat with pancakes? I am going to give Gi-jane's recipe a try. what is a healthy addition to the pancakes? honey? jam? or something non sugary? I am trying to avoid sugar.

Hi,

I make pancakes with a non-stick Crepes pan, usually without any or just half a teaspoon of oil.

I love to eat them with

- peanut butter

- sweet vanilla sour cream (mix lite sour cream with vanilla and sweetener)

- Chivers orange marmalade or lime jelly

- Grand Marnier (perfect for a lazy Sunday morning ;)

The sour cream dip tastes good on its own, but you can also mix it with fruit (blueberries, raspberries, etc.)

Real good!

Fitness Why am I so tired!!?? Jan 19 2009

Thanks everybody, for the advice!

I guess I'll try to eat more protein (and see if I can get myself to eat more broccoli ;) and log my schedule better to find out if I really get enough rest. Not sure if I can sleep longer :( Can't go to bed much earlier. Or get up later. Hmmm.

I eat a lot of vegetables, so believe it or not, yes AN INSANE AMOUNT of those calories stem from veggies (mostly tomatoes and carrots).

In a typical day, I'll eat a few slices of bread and/or pasta/couscous/rice, 1-2 onions, bagged lettuce, 3-10 tomatoes, a few carrots, green beans, sweet peppers, and maybe an apple or two. I like to eat my carrots with lemon juice and yogurt, and I make a huge bowl of salad, with a bit of (mostly feta, mozzarella or goat) cheese. I try to eat tuna, eggs, chicken breast and fish to make sure I get enough protein, but I don't crave it, so I tend to forget that easily.
So yep, lots of veggies, lots of starchy and fibruous carbs, but I guess I need to eat less vegetables to leave room for more protein LOL

I guess I'm addicted to tomatoes :( The only thing that keeps me from eating kilos everyday is the price!!

Well I eat approx. 1600-2200 kcal (139lbs, 5 ft 3 inches; I wanted to concentrate on building muscle and training my body, losing a few lbs would be nice, but it's not my main goal) a day, and I always make sure I eat between 60-100g protein. I eat plenty. Probably more than I should ! LOL I really don't think food is the problem :S

I took a week off to see if the workouts are really to blame. I had a LOT more energy. :(

I want to go back to working out tomorrow anyway. Just wanted to know if anybody else experienced the same problem??

I sleep about 6-8 hrs a night.

I do 2-3 sets (depending on exercise and form), and I choose weights so I can perform 12 reps, and about 8-10 on the last set. Is that too much?

I do, in summer (~april-oct). It's about 7 miles, and I LOVE it!!! It wakes me up and gives me energy (I have one of these stupid desk jobs). I don't usually need to change clothes but I use a lot of deodorant LOL

Well, apple juice mixed with lots of water works wonders for me! I take a sip every now and then during workouts, and my energy levels during workout are definitely higher than with plain water.

Foods What percent am I to eat of protein, carbs, etc.? Dec 24 2008

I wonder how it is possible to reach those numbers?

I basically live on vegetables and salalds. I usually lack protein, so I try hard to eat more fish&eggs.

However, I entered my foods in Mypyramidtracker today (which was a typical day for me!) and it said that I don't eat enough -Grains, -Fruit, -Milk and -Meat. But you should have seen my vegetables column!! it was BIG! lol

STILL, my analysis says I have

60 g fat - too much I think? but how on Earth do I reduce fat and eat even more Grains and Meat???

103 g sugar - whew. Not sure where that comes from.

28 g saturated fat intake - OK I think this is from milk/coffee creamer, right? Any suggestions how I can lower my sat fat intake???

Now honestly, I don't think that I eat a lot of unhealthy foods. And still those numbers are WAY too high! I can't imagine how they'd look like on a day with pizza & french fries???!!
