The bowflex originally came with a training manual, quick reference poster and I believe a workout video.  If you don't have originals you can probably order them from customer service at Bowflex.

I have been following this post for awhile now and have not responded but now I have to.  You are about to lose 180 pounds of excess weight that you'll miss for awhile but in the long run will be good for you.  I don't want to sound calous but I do speak from a similar experience.  My wife wanted a separation nearly a year ago (the difference is we do get along and speak on the phone nearly daily, she now lives on the other side of the country).  I thought I was handling things OK but begain overeating and eating very bad (take-out, fast food, grilled red meat etc.).  Christmas eve I had chest pains, New Years Eve I had a heart attack, I've now had angioplasty, five stents and lost 42 pounds.  You need to look at your family, friends and all you have to live a long life for....take this bad time and turn it into your motivation to turn your life around in all ways.

These are great...made a couple of substitutes, used eggbeaters, large white onions, and Italian breadcrumbs with no corn flakes (gotta use what I got, and didn't want the rest of the box of cornflakes in the house).  Had to restart oven for second batch..added a little fat free parm and garlic powder to those!

I use a Fuji digital SLR for everyday shooting and besides the possible downside of being as big as my old film SLR's, it's great.  I can do all the settings manually, choose auto or a combination of both.  Thought I would miss my old SLR film cameras more but you can't beat the option of shooting unlimited pictures and only printing the best or none at all; gives you the option of trying all the things that would have been a waste of film and developing.

I'll have to plead guilty to the guy thing.  Fortunately , after using these site for 3 months, I think I'd be too full nowadays if i ate that much for breakfast.  In the past it would be a different story..hence my presence here.

Cold here, only in the teens but has been that way for a couple of weeks. They predicted ice and snow for today but then backed off and said it would stay south of here...that must be you! You are welcome to it...I've had about enough of winter for this year. Looking forward to spring in a few more weeks.

Weight Loss Special K Challenge Feb 17 2006

Actually had considered this Special K plan, or my own modified version, since one serving would not have been enough. After reading the nutrition info on the box you'll find just about any cereal without sugar will give you the same calories etc. Many of the other cereals would be a lot more satisfyiing and filling even if used as snack.

Today is skinless chicken breast on the grill. It's finally up to the mid 20's and sunny so it's time to refire the grill. I know that sounds cold to a lot of the country but for February in upstate NY I'll take what I can get.

I find that even a half serving of lean meat (mainly chicken for me) can really increase your protein and keep your carbs low. One boneless, skinless chicken breast microwaved, broiled or grilled then diced and added to soup, salad or used as a snack, can be spread over three days and really make a difference in your protein average.
Foods What are some good protine foods? Feb 06 2006

Besides lean meats, fish and most nuts and seeds are high in protein. Everything has its downside; meats are high in cholesterol, nuts have little cholesterol but are higher in fat, some fish are a good compromise between the two depending on the variety and how it's prepared.

Weight Loss some problems... Feb 04 2006

You need to track all the essential vitamins and minerals in your diet for a few days and I think you might find a solution. Also, I see you said you are a student...check out the library or bookstore for the diet and nutrtion book used for class. A few years back I learned an amazing amount from a course of basic nutrition my wife had to take for her nursing degree. I wish I could remember the book that was used because I would buy it now. It contained a CD which had an excellent program for tracking your intake. Similar to this website but much more detailed about all nutrients and it allowed you to temporarily plug in different foods to see if that would better meet your needs without increasing "the bad stuff". Weight Loss very over weight need a little HELP! Feb 03 2006

Patch, I'm a 49 year-old male with angina that also prevents exercise. I've lost some weight but still have at least 80 lbs to go. Decided to get serious and stick around a while (amazing what a little heart pain can inspire you to do). A couple words of advice to use as you see fit...First clean out the kitchen, fridge, and freezer of anything you know you should not eat, don't save them for someday because they'll still be unhealthy then. Chart everything you eat honestly no matter how bad a day may be. Try charting what you used to eat in a typical day including fast food and snacks and you'll feel much better about your worst eating days now! Larry
