who the hell would EVER have the audacity to yell something like that? only someone with low self esteem would say something so rude to make them feel better about themselves. the kind of people who say things like that are NOT worth getting upset over because they're a waste of oxygen. |

oh yes, i have to agree with the OP. cycling is ADDICTIVE. once you start a cycling routine it is hard to stop... especially once your body starts to respond to your work. i went from having no butt to more than i needed... but it's still a good thing! |

i think that if the website specifically says "you will feel light headed, unable to concentrate, and weak" that should be the number one thing that drives you away from doing it. it's obviously affecting your body negatively if you feel those things, and why would you want to do harm to your body when you're trying to be HEALTHY and lose weight? |

| Weight Loss | it's not fair why can't i be one of those people | Apr 18 2009 15:58 (UTC) |

my boyfriend eats whatever he wants too! and he models! and my sister eats whatever she wants and she works at hooters (enough said). it sucks sometimes, but at least you're putting healthier things in your body than they are... at least that's usually how i try to think about it... they may not be able to eat that way forever, and at least we are learning good habits early on. |

| Weight Loss | im such a fat pig!!!!!!!!!! | Apr 16 2009 23:03 (UTC) |

i think you might be overthinking your weight loss plans! every time i start to overthink about what i'm eating and how many calories per day i'm consuming, i get obsessive about it and i can't stop thinking about eating... which leads to binges that i feel absolutely horrible about afterwards. i would say that a good way to clear your mind and restart everything would be to maybe eat at maintenance calories for a week, then slowly start to cut your calories after you balance yourself out again. that way, you're not changing your eating habits so severely and suddenly. good luck! |

| Weight Loss | Is anyone using activity to manage occasional overeating? | Apr 10 2009 12:13 (UTC) |
|
i used to do this back in the day when i first started losing weight. problem is, i would consider even a small unhealthy snack to be unacceptable so i began to work out hardcore to make up for even small screw ups. it got to the point where i eventually developed a form of an exercising disorder and i lost wayyyy too much weight in the long run. i say it's probably fine as long as you don't make a habit out of it. plus, it's okay to go over your calories occasionally. it keeps the body guessing and doesn't let it get used to the same amount of calories all the time. :-] |

| Fitness | Anyone else work an extremely physical job? | Apr 10 2009 03:11 (UTC) |

i wouldn't call my job extremely physical (restaurant) but i KNOW i burn a ton of calories during my shifts. i work at a barbecue restaurant here in austin that is pretty popular, so it's really busy during meal times... which means i'm moving around constantly. sometimes i'm working so hard i'm wiping sweat from my brow. but nevertheless, i have my activity level set to "light activity" and i just add my workouts to my burn meter manually on days that i work. on days that i don't work, i just use the counter's estimated burn to figure out my deficit. works pretty well. |

i live in cedar park... i work at the rudy's bbq on 620 and my car looks like hell. luckily dent repair is my dad's business so i can get mine fixed for free. still looks horrible though. it was so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk at work! people were freaking out... pretty funny. if you need to get an estimate or anything, my dad's phone number is 512-468-0121. his name is bryan doty. |

| The Lounge | Trying to work things out with the wife... | Mar 25 2009 01:36 (UTC) |

to the OP: i think he finally figured it out once he was intimate with another man. that was the only way he felt he could know for sure. when that happened, he discovered, like you, that he felt different types of attraction towards men than with women. he pretty much decided that he is ONLY sexually attracted to men and could never have a relationship with them. the same goes for me. once i was intimate with another woman, i knew i was bisexual. it's just that i feel like i also could not have a relationship with another woman. there is just something the opposite sex offers to us that we cannot necessarily get from the same sex... at least for some people. |

my boyfriend and i have been together for two years, and when he told me he was bisexual and had been with another guy before i was a little taken aback. i am bisexual myself, and though i understand it is different for men in our society to be bisexual, i completely understood and it made us closer as well. he does prefer women over men though, which comforts me, and when we're intimate i definitely know FOR SURE that he's all about me. good luck to you! |

you go girl... don't let that throw you off! i am still trying to get out of the habit of having a horribly high calorie meal and letting the rest of the day go to crap. i'm so guilty of that it's not even funny. it's such a hard habit to break, and it seems like you've broken it! it takes a lot of will power so great job! i'm jealous... but i'm getting there one day at a time. |

fiber one products are AMAZING. they are all delicious and very high in fiber. i recommend their raisin bran crunch cereal, chocolate chip chewy granola bars (tastes like a candy bar with only 140 cals), their peach and key lime pie flavored yogurts are DELICIOUS and low in calories as well. i think they do well to be staples in everyone's diet -- weight loss or not. |

| Maintaining | anyone who has STOPPED counting, with success? | Mar 19 2009 20:53 (UTC) |
11 |
i stopped counting about a year ago and did pretty well with my body's hunger signals guiding me... for a couple of months. although i was successful at first, my old habits came back and haunted me and i began to binge eat most days. as of now, i am back to counting. i think those who are most successful with not counting are those with excellent self control and discipline. i am a sucker for food so it ended up not working too well for me!!! |

| The Lounge | What exactly do you consider Cheating???? | Mar 15 2009 03:37 (UTC) |
28 |
i consider any kind of physical contact cheating. i could see how someone would consider "thoughts for another" cheating though. if you were to find out that your significant other was thinking sexual or romantic thoughts toward someone else it would probably make you feel as though you've been cheated on. i'm a female. |
