I'm basically new too, but cc seems like a great place to find help and support.  I know it's helped me alot only the short time I've been here!  Good Luck!Smile  If you'd like to be a support to each other, just let me know.

Fitness Normal Walking as Exercise May 08 2008

Yes, it definitely counts!!  If you go to your activity log on cc and do a search on walking, you will find many different areas of walking and accordingly, how many calories you burn for what type of walking you do!  Remember that any kind of activity is better than none, and 3.5 miles is great!  Search for the activities that keep you so busy and you'll be surprised at what even that activity does for you!!!  Good Luck!
