| Weight Loss | Help please!! a question about exercise and calories | Nov 18 2008 09:09 (UTC) |

Original Post by mkculs: I've been confused about this too! For the past couple of weeks I've been eating 1400, and exercising -300 cals (which puts me under light activity). This is what CC suggests, but my weight really hasn't moved at all. Technically, my "intake" would be below 1200 (1100 to be exact). Could this be why I'm not losing!? That measly 100 calories?? (btw, I'm 5'2" and 126 lbs) |

Yeah I definitely have the bingeing problem too! I am going through the EXACT same thing as all of you who posted. I truly believe I have a binge eating disorder. It's like something just takes over me and I start prowling around looking for anything to stuff my face with! It feels like an out of body experience. It's awful! I try so hard not to keep junk in the house, but I always find something.
Um, NO! I don't! Luckily I can usually snap out of it in time to avoid making a bad choice. I've started rewarding myself with different things for pounds lost (as if losing weight isn't reward enough). I just hate having to constantly fight with myself not to eat everything in the house. I too have a huge issue with peanut butter. I ordered PB2 last week so I'm looking forward to hopefully trying that this week. It's 56 cals for 2 tablespoons and it starts out in powder form so I can't do the spoon + jar = failure thing, hehe. Any/All of you please feel free to add me. We need all the support we can get, especially from those who understand what we're going through. |

I'm in the same boat as you, except it's even worse because I ALSO binge when I'm happy/excited about something. It's like the only time I can control myself is when I'm just feeling average/mediocre. It's like an out of body experience when it happens, then it's over and I feel horrible!! I keep track on CC and see the things that I *binge* on, then I literally throw them away. It's like every day I find something new!

Yeah me too! I've been busting my butt to have 750+ deficts each day, but this site says that losing more than 1.25 lbs a week isn't really safe for me since I weigh 126. Very interesting! I guess I'll shorten my workouts a little bit (thank God!!) |

I have noticed the same thing! I always drink coffee to supress my huner! Perhaps try using skim milk instead of cream? If you need the flavor, try using splenda coffee flavoring. I forget what they are called exactly, but it's basically 0 calorie sweetner that comes in flavors such as mocha and french vanilla. I use 1-2 packs per cup of coffee & it makes it taste sooo good! |

I have my own ways of "thinspiration" without the websites. I have my screen saver set to a picture folder in My Documents that is full of pictures of HEALTHY celebrities. Mainly, Gwen Stefani. She is very lean but not *skinny* like say, Angelina Jolie (her arms are seriously disguisting). Gwen has an amazing stomach, and even though I'm not aiming to have abs like that, it still inspires me to work out and eat healthy. There are also pics of myself in there when I was at my goal weight in May 2007. I'm also thinking about taping a pair of shorts to my refridgerator LOL. My husband made a trip to the states recently for work (he is USAF and we're in Germany). The shopping here is WAY too expensive because of the Euro rate, so he picked up a few things for me. 1 item was a pair of shorts from Hollister that are adorable and I would LOVE to wear. They fit my waist just fine, but my legs looked awful! It was a big eye opening moment for me. He barely ever buys me things and this was a really sweet surprise, so it means alot to me to be able to wear them confidently some day! Seeing those shorts every time I go to grab a snack would remind me to think twice about my food choices! Anyway, I know some of you pointed this out already, but make your own thinspiration! Who else has someone/something specific that helps to *thinspire* you (like restless_girl and Sarah Ulmer) ? |

Original Post by likin81: OMG windshield wipers!! I thought I was the only one with this problem! My husband does this all the time and I hate it! It will be barely drizzling and he'll but the wipers on full blast. Even if they start to make the squeaky sound he doesn't change it. I've recently started to adjust the speed for him lol. When I drive in the rain, I am constantly changing the wiper speed so it will be just right. One of my biggest pet peeves is whiny men. I know several guys who WHINE to their wives when they want something or don't like something. It's like they think sounding like child is going to get them somewhere! Be a man!! lol Every driving pet peeve on here I relate to 100%, but my biggest one is when I am waiting to turn onto a street and a car is coming who is INTENDING to turn before on on my street, but they don't use their signal. It's like I just WAITED there that entire time for them to eventually get out of my way anyway! Ugh, grammar mistakes too. Greater "then", rather "then", $&)(&*(% I'm getting living just typing that! I pretty much hate everything lol |

Original Post by luvs_little_lie: Ahh me too! I was a very leet lock XD Hubbz and I recently decided to quit cold turkey because it was interfering with our lives WAY too much. We live in Germany (hubbz is in the military) but we played on an EST server, so we were up until the wee hours of the morning raiding 3-4 times a week. He was ALWAYS tired and cranky and ALWAYS on the computer. He used to be very fit and muscular, but after playing WoW for a while he got all scrawny. |

It's not impossible to lose weight on Depo! I know everyone is different, but I did CC in 2007 before my wedding (while on depo) and lost weight just as fast as I would otherwise (15lbs in 3 months). |

| Foods | what kind of cake do you want for your next birthday? | Aug 15 2008 12:21 (UTC) |

This year, I told my husband I just wanted a pack of Zebra Cakes! As in, two small cakes... not a whole box. I had just started CC again (about a month in) and I didn't want to mess it up with a birthday cake. Instead, he actually made a double layer yellow cake with vanilla frosting and drew zebra stripes on it with chocolate syrup LOL. Very sweet, but so much for not ruining my diet!! |

I've been doing great, but for some reason the scale jumped this morning. Grr! I'm sure it's water weight, b/c there is seriously no way I didn't lose some ounces yesterday lol. I'm just laying off the sodium today and hoping tomorrow will tell me something different! I'm reeeeally hoping for 124 By Friday (even if it's 124.8!) |

My playlist is basically Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Madonna, Rihanna, Cascada, all their fast pace songs. I may not like Britney Spears as an artist, but her people know how to make a good workout track! Gwen Stefani's "Now That You Got It" is a great song. I listen to this stuff while I'm walking/jogging and sometimes I just want to stop and start dancing! It's all a matter of preference though. If you play songs that YOU like, you're going to feel more energized + motivated! I even have some slower paced songs on there (Robin Thicke) that I listen to simply because they make me happy. God knows I need all the cheering up I can get mid workout lol. |

| Weight Loss | How many tries did it take you till you were fully committed to a healthier lifestyle? | Jul 05 2008 15:16 (UTC) |

This is my 2nd attempt at a lifestyle change, and it sure as H#%$ will be my last! I've come to the conclusion that you have to maintain a healthy lifestyle for an entire year before it really sticks with you. Think about it, you survive one of every holiday, and you don't jump off the bandwagon immediately after. I made the mistake of totally relaxing my diet/exercise routine once I lost the weight the first time (for me wedding). It's like I thought once I got there, maintaining was going to be a breeze. NOT SO MUCH! I jumped off the bandwagon immediately after my honeymoon. This time, I am going to factor in things like vacation and holidays. Sure, you can have a cheat day. The key is going back to your healthy routine the day after! |

| Weight Loss | Anyone walking off the weight? | Jul 05 2008 10:57 (UTC) |

Walking is my saving grace! Every other day I walk on the treadmill at a 10% incline until I hit 500 cals burned (takes about 90 minutes). The other days I walk with no incline until I burn 250, then follow up with some tae bo. For those treadmill walkers, using the incline option can be a really great ASSet to your weight loss (if you catch my drift). Just be sure not to use it too often because your legs will get lopsided. My calves got all toned and pretty, but I couldn't jog for more than a minute because I never thought to strengthen my shins! OUCH! |

Original Post by kukua: Haha I do the same thing! If the scaled goes up slightly, I just don't want to admit it. I would rather be in denial then actually except the fact that I might have gained 1/2 a pound. So far, it's just been normal day to day fluctuations. (fingers crossed) |

Original Post by kelz80: I know how you feel! I never wanted to be that person who said (insert snotty attitude) "umm....sorry, but.... I can't eat that" However, it's SO hard not to when you see the results from being careful with what you eat! I really have to fight the urge to be rude when it comes to situations like that. |

You're still fairly close to a healthy deficit, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Like nefertiti said, just try another serving of peanut butter. Maybe in your smoothie, or on a piece of wheat bread. Or, treat yourself to a serving of low fat yogurt at night. Take advantage of it a little! You'll still be losing weight at a healthy rate with a 1,000 calorie deficit. |

Are you saying that you're leaving on the 24th? If that's the case, you can use the tools on this site and safely lose about 7lbs by then. Any more than that can be harmful to your body. Like cellulitedelite said, water and fruit may "work" but it will also make you sick. |

Ahh!? What!? You can't take veggies on the plane?? I've done so before without even looking into whether or not I'm "allowed" lol. I travel back and forth from Germany several times a year and I always bring a fiber rich veggie to snack on (see Poop facts that kill 30 pounds forever... thread). :-D

Tae Bo Tae Bo Tae Bo!! The Tae Bo Amped and Tae Bo Cardio DVDs in particular, are awesome! There are all about 40-50 mins long. At first they they are a little difficult, but after a few weeks you will improve immensely! Just don't give up! Even in the beginning, just attempting the moves gets your heart rate up. I used these videos to lose weight for my wedding and I was absolutely thrilled with the results!
OH, p.s., you can also find some of these pre-owned on half.com! |

oooo this makes me feel better! I just started counting calories on here again after a few weeks of just keeping track in my head each day (not so reliable lol). I was kinda disheartened yesterday when I weighed the same as I did a few weeks ago, even though I had still been cutting cals and working out. I didn't even take into account that I'm on my period at the moment and it *could* just be from that. ::fingers crossed:: |

Original Post by pgeorgian: I HATE travel induced BM issues!! It's bad enough that you're tired and cranky from all that traveling, add bloating and difficult poops to the mix why don't ya!? I travel quite often, and I've FINALLY learned to maintain a better fiber regiment when I'm traveling (and AVOID eating pizza margherita every day when traveling in Italy, the cheese most definitely doesn't help the situation lol). |
