Most people do the opposite of what you are doing... they hit the gym and eat like crap... It is very easy to overlook the two parts of loosing weight (eating right and working out). mperic81 is right, try and do some cardio a few times a week. You can look on line and find your optimum heart rate for burning fat. Also, I found it best to not make large goals at first. Have some intermediate goals. Such as, I would like to loose .5 lbs this week or run a certain amount this week, or even focus on your over under on calories for the week... It is very uplifting to meet small goals on the road to your large goal... Let me know if I can help you out any more... Best of luck Jesse |

I am a 23yr old male and as you can imagine used to have to same problem. I talked to my dad who is a physician and he told me to look into a protein shake before bed. After some research and some self experimenting I found that GNC makes an 8 hour protein complex I mix 1.5 scoops of that with 8 ounces of water and am great for the rest of the night. The best thing about the 8 hour complex is that it is just as it seems. It breaks down in your system over 8 hours. So, it should last you the night. ** Be weary of mixing with Milk. I have done some reading and most things I have seen suggest that milk actually hinder your body's ability to take in the protein... this is why some people have really bad gas after drinking protein shakes. This is the non-metabolized protein.** Let me know if I can be any more help |

My sister is in the same boat as you. I reccomend focusing on not exactly weight, but body fat %. Please dont look at BMI (it is stupid and doesnt consider your frame). Try and eat more protein. There are some great frozed pre cooked chicken breasts that are low in fat and about 18-20 grams of protein. |

Hey Dave, I know a lot of people are telling you to use diet soda instead of its counter-part . Watch out for this because the way the sugars in diet soda are processed it will actually cause you more harm than good when drinking them with alcohol. Also, the main reason people get fat while drinking is the **** food they eat while drinking... Jesse |

What I would mainly focus on is trying to stay about 1500 calories a day and when you work out you may want to focus on high rep, low weight excercises this will focus on tone more than that of the opposite which is used for building mass. Also, look at when eating a day... your body is a machine and if you forget to eat breakfast it isnt really going to start working till later in the day... thus not buring fat untill then. The number of times you eat in a day will also have an effect on getting rid of fat. Smaller meals and more of them will allow your body to manage the food you are taking in better. |

I am not sure how you are taking in your 1200 calories... but it seems to work for me if you split that into 4 or 5 meals a day... according to my dad (who is a physician) this should speed up you metabolism... also you are 103 lbs. So you might not want to worry about weight and worry more about fat index... |
