Good Morning Everyone!!! Week 6 ... 201 -2 resabg3 how are your shin splints? Are they from running? I get them when I switch up my treadmill routine or run to long and omg OUCH!!!! If you have a stability ball try doing some core workouts on that but take it easy on your legs. I hope they get better. I am off to the Adirondaks for some camping this weekend (well not really camping we have a cabin) My friend and I are taking the kids up there while our husbands go fishing. I hope we survive LOL.

Original Post by cdanda: Good for you cdana - I fell off the wagon over the weekend and this group picked me back up. Everyone has their bad day(s). I am proud your back in it. I am in for the fiber challenge. I eat lots of fiber as it is now. Be careful if you are not used to eating fiber everyone - when I first started my stomach would make noises all day. My body is used to it now and fiber keeps me fuller longer. I like fiber one bars peanut butter or Carmel. I think they are launching 2 new flavors this week. I also like fiber one yogurt it is small but believe me it fills me. Have a great day |

I feel so bad for you. Rls is the worst. I had it when I was pregnant (my md said it was common). A friend of mine who has it told me to lay down and bend your toes and squeeze (both feet) hold for 10 sec and release do this 10 times. I hope it helps - it worked for me. |

I am overweight and I eat healthy and I am more active than more than half of my friends. I am a mom and I am up at 5:00 am and I don't sit until 8:00pm. When I go walking with the other"skinny moms" they have to ask me to slow down. So I hate it when people look at me and automatically think I am lazy because I am fat - Its actually my biggest peeve. He is a real jerk!!!!!!! |

Great job resabg3!!!!! 50 lbs is huge. Last night I ran to tjmaxx to see if I could find a new outfit for my daughters dance recital because all my cloths are just to big on me. I saw this really cute skirt in a size 14 and thought to myself if only they had this in a 16 that may just fit and couldn't find one so I tried on the 14 and it fit. I couldn't stop myself I went out and grabbed a bunch of size 14's and most of them fit. WOW Since march I have gone from a 18w to a (tight) 14. Soon I hope to get back to my size 10 cloths that are boxed up in the basement. How is everyone else doing? Any tips??? |

After I take my daughter to dance I am going to do an ab workout. I love this group!!!! Thanks for the motivation. I knew I was off track so I felt like I needed to confess my sins (lol). |

Hi everyone, UGGG I am in need of some serious support. I have been doing really great, but the last few days I am falling off the wagon. After my weigh in on saterday I went back to my home town and whenever we all get together it is never good. I promised myself I would be good and after a few glasses of wine I reached for the chips and dip and whatever else. It doesn't stop there, the next day we watched to a movie and I pigged out on full fat popcorn and a piece of pizza. Then last night my husband broke out my favorite chips (asian bbq) and I couldn't help myself. I could be pms. Today I am going to work out HARD and go through my pantry and get rid of the "junk" food. I think when you havent had these foods for awhile when I get a taste I just cant stop. Totally off the subject but I thought this was interesting. I don't know if any of you have heard of hungry girl, but it is a great site. I get daily emails of great diet tips and this one was very interesting. http://www.hungry-girl.com/news/index.php |

Thank you for your support oit. Isn't that terrible for a mother to think like that? The past few days have been very bad. I went to bed hoping for a rainy day so I could have a day off from all this, but it is bright and sunny. I am sure when they get home from school it will all begin. I am going to approach this differently, I still don't know my plan of action, but like I said I just can't deal with this anymore. After talking to my husband and showing him some research I found on the Internet on emotional bullies he gave me the go ahead to start looking for a new house (sad huh). On one good note. I went to my trainer this morning and she couldnt believe my drive. I guess I got my frustrations out at the gym. |

I know this may sound odd, but this may in some way feel like something she "owns" or has power in. She may be embarrassed to go to the doctor because of her weight. Does she have any kind of a food addiction? It is like someone going for help for drugs or alcohol it could be hard for them to realize they have a problem. I don't know if this is the answer, but I do know how hard it is to watch someone you love live such an unhealthy lifestyle. Good luck. |

I do know very well how pre-teens are. I am afraid that this will carry on with her forever. They all go to the same school. Yes I talk with her daily. She knows they are mean and the tears in her eyes explains it all. YES I am observing it she is only 6 so I am outside with her at all times. What hurts the most is that she tries to be strong and not cry and her eyes well up. She is not overly sensitive in her emotions. I think the reason she wants to play with them is because of two reasons. 1. she has been treated like this for so long she is used to it. 2. If it is only one or the other girls they are not as mean (sometimes). I try not to "parent" other peoples kids, but it has come to that. If their parents are not going to say anything then I will. It sounds silly but one of the moms is actually really nice and we are friends - she just lets her kids do anything they want. I can't stand the other mom even though I put a smile on my face to her everyday because we are neighbors. she thinks her kid does no wrong and this is the worst out of the 2. Yes it has gotten physical - I put an end to that right away. Thank you for the tip on martial arts - we tried it and guess what - the neighbor girl joined our class. So after some research I started her horseback riding and she LOVES it. She is also an irish dancer so we are between dance and the stables 4 days a week and I don't want to overload a 6 year old anymore than she is. In the summer she does golf and play tennis and we normally go to the pool at our club daily, but I don't want to feel I have to run out of my house for my daughter to not get hurt. Thanks so much to the both of you for your help. It is very appreciated. |

My father was the same way. When I was growing up he would always call me fat (even though I wasn't). He in fact was the fat @#$. He was never really in my life and I hated the fact that when I saw him maybe once every 6 months or so that was all he had to say (I have 4 other siblings and he would never say anything like that to them). In my teens I started to believe him and decided I was destined to be fat so I gave up on trying to lose weight and gained. I lost a lot of weight and worked out and was very healthy after college and he still couldn't say anything to me. I now have the last laugh I am very successful and have a wonderful husband and family - that he will never have a part of. I gained weight after I has my daughter and now I am working hard to lose the weight for ME not for him. Do I wish things could of been different - YES!!!!!! I wish my dad was in my life and a grandfather to my daughter who is 6 and he has never met her, but he hasn't changed at all so I will not have my daughter hurt like that. It sounds like your father is trying to spend time with you - more than my father ever did. Some people feel better by putting others down even at there lowest. Be firm with him and tell him you will not put up with his remarks they are hurtful and disrespectful and you need more positive things in your life now. If he keeps it up tell him you are going to start to separate your self from him for a while because he is just to hurtful. You need to be strong now for yourself. Ask your family for help talking to your father. I am happy that I cut my father from my life (there were many other factors though). I feel like a stronger person. I hope you can come to terms with your father and I wish he can see how he is hurting you. I wouldn't ever want to see anyone go though what I did. |

Hi everyone, Looks like everyone is doing great. I hope everyone is surviving the memorial day weekend. I did my hardest, I had my sisters surprise 40th bday party and food was everywhere. I skipped the cake but had a small chocolatechip cookie and skipped the chips and dip and stuck with the veggie tray. When my clan gets together the beer and wine starts flying. I drank a few white whine spritzers with a lime wedge and it was great. It was nice to see my family (they live 2 hours away) and for them to see and comment on my weight loss. Rileaf- I got my fit flops at bath and body, but victoria secrets and macys also carry them here is the website http://www.thefitflop.com/. |

I love beer also, but a great summer drink that I also love is a cape codder 1 1/2 oz vodka3 oz cranberry juice preferably lite 1 lime wedge Plus the cranberry juice helps flush the alcohol out of your system. Or a white wine spritzer mix club soda or sparkling water with white wine. You can drink more for fewer cal. CHEERS!!!! |

Good morning everyone. I hope it is a good weigh in day . SW - 211 MAY 24 - 207 GW 190 - 195 Wow I am shocked. I have been on track all week working out and eating great untill yesterday. My trainer canceled due to the flu. So I went to the senior pga and thought I would walk the course and watch the players - not - my husband is the chairman so he picked us up in a cart and drove us around (it was kinda cool though). I tried to find something healthy to eat and couldn't so I ended up eating the best of the worst and had a hot dog. It gets better though, my husband took us to the hospitality room and FREE BEER - what can I say I am an irish girl. I also love the workouts on demand. jillian michaels is great - if you want a killer ab workout try jackie warner core workout. I hope everyone has a great week!!!!!!! |

Well I have been wearing my fit flops around now for a few days(I wear my sneakers when I go to the gym though) I do feel it in my legs and butt. My neighbor went out and bought a pair and she said the same thing. Another note - i don't just go from point a to point b. My daughter just took her training wheels off her bike and we do the loop around our neighborhood about 1/2 mile like 6 x a day and I walk with her. Personally I like heels, but they are not sensible when you are running after kids. I really don't mind the look of these - I actually think they are cute. Thanks for the info everyone. |

I agree with millyf Drink a lot of water and I read somewhere at room temp. Are you stretching before your workout? I find that when I stretch properly I have more energy. If you are going to the gym after a long day at work and you are drained, would it be possible to go in the morning before work? I try my hardest to work out in the morning because after I get my daughter to bed I am exhausted. Good luck |

Wow 7 kids - you are a saint!!! That seems like a workout in it's own. I was intrigued by your post so I did some surfing and found this and thought it would be helpful. http://www.befitmom.com/abdominal_recondition ing.html I am interested in what others have to say as well. I am embarrassed to say I only have one child and she is 6 now. I have lost and gained weight since she has been born and no matter what I do I have never gotten rid of my "tire"

I got mine yesterday. I got to target around 7:45 am and there were all sorts of people in there cars waiting so I got out and got first in line. I tried to get 2 of them one for me and one for my sister and they would not let me, so I ran to another target and got the last one. I set it up last night and what a blast. I played with it for 1 1/2 hours and tried all the games and worked up u sweat. I love the hula hoop. My 6 year old loves it and so does my husband. I wished it tracked calories burned. For those who are looking for one here is a good web site to see if and when stores have them. http://wiitracker.com/ Does anyone know who to log it in to your activities? |

Yes!!!!!! I noticed after just 2 weeks. I have to buy all new clothes (poor me). I was just telling my husband when I started I could barley lift 30 lbs now that feels like nothing to me and lunges - forget about it, it killed to do just a few and now I can do them all day. I have never done strenght training before and now I am adictided. I am defantily toning and and defining my muscles, not bulking. I love working with a trainer because you never know what is in-store, every time I go to her gym it is a new circuit the down side is the cost, but I deserve it. Good luck and keep up the great work. |

Hi everyone, Thanks for all your advice. I did pick up a pair (I picked them up and put them down like 10 times). I wore them for a majority of the day yesterday and when I woke up this morning my legs were a bit sore so I hope they were doing something. I can't figure out how it works though. They are super comfy!!! I walked about 2 miles in them and ran the kids around, went grocery shopping and they were great. Atsetti, thanks for the help. I could see how the mbt's would work, but my husband would kill me if I bought a pair of sneakers for that much - I do have a bit of a shoe addiction (lol). Wow 10 miles a day - what is your secret. I wish I had your motivation - good for you. colorado_sunshine thanks for the link - very useful.
