Hahaha! Particle_Woman, that's great! XD I will have to get my hands on some lemon and cayenne powder! I have been having areally difficult time sticking to my calorie budget. Sounds like an interesting idea! I'm glad to see someone taking something which is a part of something so unhealthy and making it into a healthy and helpful convention! Good for you! |

I could do that, but it would be too hot. u U u;;; That's a good tip for drinking staining things that are cold, though. It definitely makes a difference. |

Jill91198, thank you for the recipe! I think I will substitute the splenda for something like stevia or some other sweetner, but so far these sound deliiicioussss! And super easy to make, as well!
I hope Phat2lean checks back for your recipe! |

The best advice I can give is to look in to vegan oatmeal cookies. There are egg-replacers, milk replacers, and then you can use oats and whole wheat flour to make the cookies more healthy. As for the sugar, I would look for a recipe that uses both sugar and applesauce, or both sugar and stevia, or both sugar and agave. The thing is about sugar is that it does more than rot teeth and have 1231234235424 calories per tablespoon *grumbles about having to give sugar up when I have my morning tea*, it also has the perfect chemicals that, when mixed with eggs (or egg-substitute) and milk (or a non-dairy milk) and the flour and whatnot, it makes that great cookie texture. But! It's okay to have a cookie with just half the sugar (It's also perfectly alright to have a cookie with all the sugar in moderation). Most of the vegan recipes you will find will not have much sugar in them anyway(about 1/4 cup on average). I would not recommend using splenda. I do not know if that is something which you do use, but I suggest staying away from it. It's pretty bad for people... and well, it's also not as delicious as sugar or stevia and the chemical properties of it tend to make it out to also be a cookie-ruiner.
Here are some recipes I found: http://stanford.wellsphere.com/healthy-cookin g-article/healthy-oatmeal-cookie-bars-gluten- soy-free-vegan/816088 http://www.happycow.net/recipes.php?id=114
I think that they will have similar calorie content to that of other cookies, but they will be healthier, definitely. Oh, one more thing, I saw that you said that broccoli doesn't belong in cookies. Vegetables if anything will add bulk to a cookie which, of course, suggests that there will be more cookie for less calories. If you TASTE broccoli in a cookie, that is something totally different. But if you cannot taste the veggies, then why not give it a shot? It will definitely make it a healthier cookie! XD Best wishes for you on your cookie quest! -Kat |

gi-jane: Appreciating th meal is one of the things that truly helps keep me from over-eating. I try (though forget again and again, hehehe!) to smell my food, describe to myself the texture of the food and what it looks like. This is a really good tip and definitely one I need (apparently many) reminders. Thank you! > U < Your posts are always great~!
jcl76: Thank you so much for your sympathy and kindness. I really felt your heart in your post. I live at a University and my main food source is the cafeteria so I get this "if I don't eat all I can now, then I will get hungry again" feeling. I suppose I have molded hunger into being this fearful thing. How strange the topic and subtopics of food can be sometimes. I like eating normal portions, though. I am still trying to figure out how to eat a serving size amount of food and be happy with that. Then, also dealing with the strangeness of hunger and figuring out how to have snacks so that I don't get too hungry. Thank you so much for your supportive words, they were very warmly meant and I felt it.:) I will try my best to implement your advice! |

Hahaha! Poor cows. That's a lot of work! I really want to eat something that is more than a bit of fibre and water- however, I also want to stick to my calorie budget today. I am planning on having a 300 kilo-calorie dinner, though. Soup, salad, and probably a piece of chocolate or something like that. This is a pretty abnormal eating day for me- usually I am much more moderate at breakfast and have three well-balanced meals.
Sigh... I'll most likely end up having a normal 300 calorie lunch and likewise dinner, as you suggested, though. Hahaha! Thank you! ( > W <)/ |

Hey there!
This isn't to undermine the fact that losing weight takes time and effort- it IS work in that sense. Hahaha! But it can be instantly rewarding, too. I love finding two-for-ones. Like getting to stuff myself on something that is low in calories AND tastes delicious (I'm a big salad person, hehe~!). Find ways to pat yourself on the back throughout the day. Maybe work a small treat into your day the day before. Log it in as the first thing- even if you are going to eat it for supper. Then, when it comes time to eat it you can say "I don't even have to worry about the calories in this because I already took care of it!". Or, in the case of exercise, find a place that you really love to go- like a well-kept public garden or something and just walk around and maybe take some pictures. Tell yourself that you are going to walk around for an hour in this place and during that time all you have to focus on is feeling happy- not thinking about calories (intake or burn) or other plans for the week- just be in the moment. Weight loss that lasts is all about different methods that you incorporate into your daily life. No one wants to incorporate a really rigorous unhappy schedule into their already busy lives- so take the time to think about what will make you happy AND help you achieve your goals. I guarantee that by the time the weekend comes you won't feel stressed enough to undo some of the good things you did for yourself.
Keep up the great work! Best wishes, -Kat

Thank you so much!! I do eat a lot fibreful foods. I think I'm just looking for a quick fix to the way my stomach looks instead of slowly loosing weight. Which, of course, is not what I ultimately want. There are a bunch of posts saying how stomachs can "shrink" with people saying that they can "definitely tell a difference". I guess I may have been reading their posts in a different way than they intended them- seeing stomach shrinking as a sort of goal or something. Eugh.. I really dislike that unhealthy mindset I sometiget into sometimes. Ah! And I realize that I have been having a lot of artificial sweetner lately... Perhaps this contributes to my tummy in some way? Oh well, thank you so much for your post and the clarification within it!=) |

Hey Bambii! So one of the absolute fool-proof was to loose weight, as far as I can tell from your most recent post on this thread, is to stop drinking soda. Even if it's diet soda. There is a lot of studies out there that aspartame can increase your appetite. If you need to stay awake try drinking tea- black tea is great. You can even have it iced for hot days. =) Keep up the good work!! You are worth taking the time during the day to get better health. It's wonderful that you are doing this! Kat |
