I haven't posted any weight changes because there haven't been any.I have at least stopped eating in excess and have been watching what I eat, watching my ratios, portion sizes, counting when I have time. THIS week, I have finally started adding exercise back in to the game. Last week I started walking more, but this week I actually got out of bed early and started running again. That first day was embarrassingly difficult, but it is already getting easier. So far, I have seen no loss, but I am hoping to see a change on the scale this week and to get back to a gradual loss again. AGE: 29 SW: 169 CW: 171 (as of today - annoying, but it's not bc of overages, so I know it's just water. could be from re-starting exercise) GW: 155 by the new year. Not sure after that.

I took phentermine and it didn't work at all. Everyone is different, I guess, but I wish I hadn't wasted my money. |

First of all, don't waste your money on one of those store bought cleanses that costs 40 $ or more. They are mostly fiber pills and you'll be swallowing up to 20 pills a day. I've done those and they are a total waste of time and money. Your body detoxifies naturally, for one thing, but if you want to feel lighter, less bloated, less sluggish, then you can do a sort of detox cleanse on your own. When I'm feeling that way, I just eat completely clean for awhile and add a lot of fiber, extra water, and mostly whole fruits and vegetables to my diet. Lots of cayenne pepper and cinnamon help too. I usually make a low sodium vegetable soup w/ lots of cayenne and cut out the coffee for awhile and replace it with tea with lemon and cinnamon in the mornings. Doubling your water intake alone will flush out that bloat. Citrus fruits, green tea, sweet potatoes, things like that are also natural diuretics. Try cutting out dairy, excess salt, red meat, anything processed or fake (like artificial sweeteners) for a week and I bet you'll feel a million times better. |

I am down to 168 now - my starting weight. I know that seems like nothing and it sounds terrible when I say (or type) it. But that means I've lost 4 pounds in 3 weeks, because when I feel off the wagon I went from 165 to 172. In 2 weeks. 2 weeks to gain 7, 3 weeks to lose 4, but at least I am on my way down again - slowly but surely. It's gettin close to Halloween! Just 3 more weeks. Ideally, I would like to lose 6 pounds. We shall see. Good luck everyone. |

Well, I was down to 168.5 this morning. Still half a pound higher than when we started this challenge, but at least I'm not at 170 anymore. Aiming for 160 by Halloween now. That will be weight lost, gained, and lost again, so I'll still be 8 pounds lighter than when we started this challenge. Yeah, I wanted the 20. But as long as I don't fall off the wagon again (and I am pretty focused this time), I'll be happy. |

| Weight Loss | Could I really have gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks?! | Sep 30 2009 17:16 (UTC) |

I'd like to "weigh-in" on this as well (ha! a pun) because it just happened to me. I went through kind of a tough few weeks and completely stopped counting calories and exercising. I was eating what I wanted (not obscene amounts, just not exactly the healthiest stuff) and drinking too much. 2 weeks of that and I gained 7 pounds. Of course, I reassured myself by saying that it is mostly water weight, it will come off quickly. I've been back on my plan for a week now and have lost 2 of those pounds. One of which I assume was water. So yes, it was (for the most part) a true gain. How? I don't know exactly. But I guess it's easier than I thought to consume 3000+ calories a day. Not planning on making that mistake again. 7 pounds is about 2 months worth of work for me, because I lose an avg of 1 pound a week when I'm really trying. 2 weeks to gain, 2 months to lose? SUCKS!! But I'm doing it anyway. |

Hello everyone. I have not been in the group for awhile. I hate it when people do that. But...I fell very hard off of the wagon. I've been incredibly stressed and dealing with a lot of personal issues recently, but it looks like those are starting to wind down and things are looking up. As of today, I am back on the wagon. I have been eating nothing but crap for weeks. I've been drinking very heavily and I have not been exercising at all. So as of today, I have started a mild cleanse, and I am back. Trying to lose 12 pounds by Halloween. As of this morning, I weighed 170 (gained what I lost back plus more). I know a lot of it is water weight from what I've been eating and drinking recently so I will work hard, cut out all alcohol, and hopefully meet my goal of 158 by Halloween. After that, it's on to the thanksgiving goal of 148. By the way, I went back and read all of the old posts, and you guys are doing fantastic!!! |

yeah, I'm not even close to 165 anymore. I fell way off the wagon and now I'm up to 170. I am super stressed lately and also battling some depression. I hope to get back on the wagon soon, but I just don't know how to motivate myself right now. |

Hello All! I weighed in at 165 this morning! YAY! That's 3 pounds down, 17 to go for my Halloween goal. I'm getting really excited! Pixie, the New Year's challenge sounds like a great idea. If I make it to 148 by Halloween, I would love to try for 135 by New Years. That is actually my ultimate goal. If I made it to 135, I would be thinner than I have been in 8 years. If I hit 130 then I'm back to what I weighed my senior year in high school. Roght now, I can't even fathom that, but it would be AMAZING!!! Cassie Bee -- I know what that's like. All I can tell you is...WHO CARES what those people think? Lose weight for you. Because you know that it will make you feel better and look better, and if you can rub it in their faces later, then hey - that's a perk. But honestly, if the male wait staff is sizing up the women in private, then they are douchebags and you shouldn't be giving them the time of day. I know what that pressure feels like and it sucks. Use it as one of your motivators. But use YOURSELF as your primary motivator. Congrats to everyone who lost this week!! I know it feels great, because I'm feeling that myself. Good luck to everyone this week! I plan on being 163 by next week. We'll see how it goes. |

so it's TTOM and I refuse to weigh myself until it's over because I always get discouraged when I do. Planning on weighing in on Sunday and hoping to be down to 165. I would be thrilled if that were the case. I've been doing pretty well, so hopefully I'll keep it up. I'm getting really excited to be in a NORMAL weight range for Halloween!!! Did we ever decide on a specific weigh in day for everyone? |

So it's TTOM and I refuse to get discouraged by the scale so I just put a bunch of candles on top of it so I can't easily step on it. I have been doing pretty well. I really hope I can keep this momentum going. Had a 1000 calorie deficit yesterday!!! Ran in the moring AND did well on my calories all day. And I've been trying to make it a point to take stairs and walk around whenever I can get a break at work. It's hard when I'm tired and bloated and crampy, but I'm pretty proud of my will so far. I'll probably try not to weigh until Sunday. Hopefully I'll be able to see a significant loss by then. Goal is 150 by Halloween. 145 by Thanksgiving. If I can actually accomplish that then I'm gonna do something HUGE to reward myself. I haven't been below 150 since before my son was born (He's almost 7). Fingers crossed... |

I would love to lose 20 pounds by Halloween. I'd love to lose TEN pounds by Halloween. I've been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds since just after LAST Halloween...okay, actually, I was 157 last Halloween. Got a chef boyfriend, lost it for the holidays, got back up to 168. I've been holding steady between 163 and 168 since after Christmas. On that top end at the moment. If I lost 20, I'd be smaller than I was last Halloween and I would be ecstatic!!! Let's do it! |

Still here. Barely. Not losing anything. I havent logged in awhile because I haven't really been doing anything. There is waaaaaay too much stuff going on in my life right now and by stuff I mean food and drinks and no time to exercise. I work in a creative industry and bc I'm the marketing side of everything I have to go to ALLLL the parties. Plus, it's summer in Chicago and all my friends wanna come visit or someone's getting married or I'm taking a trip somewhere...I know I shouldn't be complaining but I really just want summer to be over. I have not been getting up to exercise and I don't ever have time to after work. I'm rarely logging my calories, but it's pointless anyway because when I have a good day, that means I've had 1500 calories and then burned 2-300 so I have a decent deficit, but then the next day or that weekend, I'll have 2500 or so calories so it doesn't really even matter. And yeah, I could be stricter on myself and not let myself be sucked in by peer pressure and not drink so much and FIND time to exercise. Yeah. That's what I should be doing. But I'm not. And every day I tell myself I will. But I don't. So...I don't know...thoughts? Maybe now is just not the time for me to be focusing on weight loss. But then I feel like if I say that then I'll just start gaining again. I don't know. Sorry for the rant, but any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Okay, I just caught up on all the posts I've missed. Tucson, that's pretty funny. Ao I'm cool for Friday being the wine day, for sure. I'm am sitting at 166 right now, but it's TTOM, so it's okay. ONCE AGAIN, I will be out of town this weekend for weigh in, so I'll try to get something to you as soon as possible. 3 weekends in a row I've been out of town and next weekend is my birthday and Lollapalooza and my best friend is in town for a week. Ugh. I love the summer, but it is not helping me on my weight loss journey. |

First and most importantly, the wine day is the best idea I've ever heard. Maybe if we all decide that one day a week, we can indulge with one of our favorite diet destroyers, it'll keep me from over-indulging on the other days. Okay, secondly, I am up to 166 because...well, I don't know. I'm sure it's a combination of things. One, my boyriend's brother got married this weekend and Drew was the best man. And their entire HUGE family is from New Orleans and are big partiers and really wanted to initiate me, I guess....ugh...still recovering... well, I guess that's the only reason. That and the wedding food and the slacking on exercise. I did get to work out one of the days. I went to the hotel gym, but time was limited. Oh well. Hopefully it'll drop. edited to add: I've had a great day today. I'm right at 1200 calories and I have had very little salt and a ton of water, so I'm hoping that my weight will be down at least a little bit tomorrow morning. |

Well the scale said 164.5 today and I'm takin it because it HAS been hangin out around 165 166 for a bit. eventhough it did say 163.5 last week, I'm okay with 164.5 this week. I'm going out of town for a wedding today and won't be back until Sun night so I'll try to post again on Monday, but I will miss Sunday weigh in. I'm takin today for my weigh in. Good luck to everyone this weekend! I'm gonna TRY to keep the calories at an acceptable number this weekend. |

the Sunday weigh-ins are killer! I had a bad weekend. Got some exercise in but indulged in some fattening food and ...yeah, some alcohol too. I had friends in town so I guess that's my excuse, but it shouldn't be an excuse. I know that weekends and booze are what's throwing me off, but I still keep slipping. So the scale said 165.5 this morning again, which is the same thing it said last Monday and then it said 163.5 on Tuesday. I'm gonna try to steer clear of alcohol and salt for awhile and start chugging some water. Usually that takes off 2 or 3 pounds of water weight - sometimes within a day. I'll let you guys know if the scale drops under 163.5 this week. Otherwise I've maintained for the week. :( Still at it though! Have a great week everyone! |

I had an awesome weigh in today. 163.5! I know we're really only supposed to weigh in on Sundays, but I am a daily weigher, and I just had to post that because I was super excited to see that number. Now, I am one of those whose weight fluctuates minute to minute so it could be up again tomorrow, but here's hoping it won't be! |

good advice from spirochete. It works. I do the same thing. If I have my work out clothes and shoes on then that's it. I have to do it. I have never - not once - gotten my entire workout clothes together and not gone to work out. Try it. Just make yourself do that. It'll help. |

tucsonmichelle - alcohol kills me too. I honestly believe I would be skinny if it weren't for the booze. I ALWAYS do better if I cut out alcohol. ALWAYS. So good luck to you this week. I'm sure you'll see a difference on the scale because of it. |

Hi guys! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was busy busy busy all weekend. BUT, even though weekends usually kill me, I did alright this weekend. Considering I went to 4 different barbecues, parades, and the beach twice, I managed to eat MAINTAINANCE which is pretty good considering I also got a decent amount of exercise. I weighed in yesterday at 164.5 but was at 165.5 today...? Well, it happens. I'm gonna claim 165 for this week and hope to claim 163 next Sunday. I have a great plan for this week already. Good luck ladies!!!! |

I'll be down for a weigh in whatever day works best for everyone. If we do Sundays it might make me a little more accountable on the weekends which are BY FAR the MAIN REASON why I am not losing at the pace I want to be losing. So do we wanna start this sunday? Hey! It's the 5th! It might help us not to go crazy on the 4th! |

| Weight Loss | Undoing hard work with slacking=very little loss, very little gain. A new yo-yo pattern | Jul 01 2009 15:27 (UTC) |

yeah. I don't know. IS it progress? I mean, yeah, I'm an ex yo-yo dieter too and I'm definitely happy that I"m not drastically cutting calories anymore to lose ten pounds in a week and gain it all back and more. I am happy that I've at least maintained that 15 pound loss. BUT STILL. I'm STILL overweight and I am still working at it. Or so I think. HAVE I learned anything? I do well in the week and ruin it on weekends. I feel like I've definitely just taken yo-yo dieting to a different form. So let's stop that. Stop that! Stop that, I say! |

yep. I do the same thing. well, slightly different results though. I eat really well during the week and see a few pounds lost then screw it all up on Fri Sat and Sun and gain it all back. Been on that cycle for..oh...a year. And I'm still 30 pounds over my goal weight. It's awesome. Maybe we should start a 'stay on the freakin wagon already' group. |

I'd like to join you guys! I'm 28, 5'6", 165lbs and would like to get to 135 as well. It's been super slow going for me. I lost 15 pounds in the beginning of last year but I've been fluctuating the same 5 pounds for almost a year now...and I've really been trying! I'm pretty good about getting exercise, and I'm usually good about what I eat during the week but weekends KILL ME. Plus, my boyfriend is a chef - which can be nice, but....jeeeeez it's easy to overindulge on really great food (especially when you pair wine with it...oops...) |
