you can always eat more the next day. jumping your calories up and down is supposed to help with weightloss.  as long as your average is your goal of 1700.

but i dont think it will hurt if you are low every once in a while, by a little bit.

My favorite is Pearl brand vanilla.  It is either 100 or 110 per cup BUT it's super creamy and sweet.  omg I love it in my coffee.  It has a way better taste than any other.  Everyone must try it once just to see.  I dont like it plain tho.  Only in recipes, coffee, cereal, anything with milk, just not plain.

I think both are equally dangerous for your health actually.  If you look at deaths by smoking and obesity.  You should try to get both under control.  I know how extremely hard it is from experience trying to lose weight myself and my husband quit smoking after smoking since he was 13 (he's 39 now).  He, too, is having a hard time and gaining weight.  Anyway, even though it is hard you should do your best at getting everything in order for your health.  You can do it.  I know ppl who have before :) I'm not doubting it is HARD though, possible yes.

Also, you will be telling them you quit smoking even though you have gained some weight?  Maybe they will see it as being equal?  Good luck, remember you CAN do it :)

I don't like that one "I could care less"  I always correct people.  It doesn't make sense to say you could care less.  Exactly how you said. :)

Foods low calorie snacks Mar 09 2009

-1 cup of grapes, apples or strawberries w/ 1/2-1 cup yogurt.

-15 Almonds is lil over 100cals.

-1/2-1 cup Sugar Free Pudding, I like the caramel/butterscotch kind a lot.

-10 Baby carrots and 1/4 cup Hummus

-1 Apple or other fruit w/ tablespoon peanut butter

-1/2 cup frozen yogurt, you can add fresh berries too yum.

-Veggies (bell peppers, broccoli, etc) w/ light ranch.

-100 cal popcorn bag (or portion out from a larger bag)

-Salad w/ darker lettuce (more nutrition if you like it), light ranch mixed w/ salsa

-Stir Fry, any veggies you like fried in 1 teaspoon olive oil or spray, make sure and add some spices like garlic and other ones you like.  You can also add tofu or a few pieces of chicken and it is low cal.  ::edit to add::  Try putting fresh ginger in your stir fry.  You don't need lots of oil and noodles/rice to make it taste very good.

Pretty much any fruits and veggies you like are great as snacks.  Fill you up on low calories and they are great for you

water is great and so is healthy fats, like in natural things, olive oil, nuts, avocado.  Make sure to get all your daily vitamins and minerals also, in multi vit and fruits, veg, etc.

Mine aren't too weird but not normal still ;p....also that is good about the steamed broccoli!!

Sometimes I eat dry hot chocolate mix.

I have been known to make myself sick to my stomach on chocolate or donuts.  Can't have them in the house.

Foods 700 Calorie Dinner Recipes? Feb 03 2009

I'm loving a homemade dinner roll and bowl of split pea soup.  This can be 400-700 or more calories depends on how big the roll is or if they are small have another.  You can also have another bean or other soup.

Also enchiladas or enchilada casserole (made the same way just layer the tortillas and other ingredients like a lasagna), along with salad/rice/beans something like that.

Recipes Tofu? Feb 03 2009
20:06 (UTC)

I like the extra firm tofu, crumbled up and fried in a pan (only a little olive oil or spray), then add whatever seasonings you like.  I use chicken flavoring a lot and it's like scrambled eggs.  I also like it cut into slices and fried with veggies and noodles/rice with asian spices for stir fry.

The silken kind is wonderful in smoothies.  I like berry smoothie with frozen berries, silken tofu and however much soymilk (or juice or other milk) it takes to be thick but smoothed out.  Very yummy and doesn't taste as much like tofu as it is plain.  If you add a tad of lemon juice it almost tastes like you put yogurt in the smoothie.  It's great stuff :)

That sucks.  Frown   I know I would be pissed too.  It's no fun to deal with work and your day while being hungry and missing your snack.  Maybe you can run in a store and grab a fruit or something small.  Or maybe that's not an option for you.  You have my sympathy.  :)

Original Post by naturallyd:

Okay, so predictably, I was not around last week to post any results because last Friday was the day after my birthday and I must admit, I agree with all of you that birthdays are meant to be celebrated. For at least a few days. Which is what happened.

I went to a friend's for a super fattening dinner on Wednesday. A friend took me to lunch Thursday, my brother took me to dinner same day. Friday I was exhausted from Thursday (and admittedly slightly hungover) so I didn't watch what I ate at all. Friday night I went out with more friends and had a million drinks and didn't get home till after 4 AM!!! I never do that, so I was hurtin on Saturday and stayed in bed most of the day...then had a huge cheeseburger delivered (hangs head in shame)...

but you know what?! It was fun, dammit!!

I didn't work out for 3 days, thursday, friday, saturday, but then I jumped right back on the wagon yesterday. went for a 30 minute run and did 30 minutes of strength training, and stayed within my calorie limits. I have no idea what I weigh now because I refuse to weigh until Friday, but I hopped on the scale Saturday morning and was surprisingly only 165.5. not a big gain...but that was before the bacon cheeseburger...and mountain of wedge fries....and chocolate cake...and pudding....anyway!!! I'm sure I have gained some water weight, but I am determined to have a good week this week. I'm going to NYC this weekend, and I'm sure I will fall off the wagon again food wise (what with all the great restaurants and the fact that my dad will probably buy) but hopefully I'll keep up the workouts. and until then, I'd like to drop this bloat....wow...this is long...

I hope everyone is having a good week. See you Friday! I promise this time...

Good for you getting back on track!  It happens sometimes.  I'm doing alright so far this week. I haven't done any execise for 4 days but today got on my elliptical and WiiFit.

165, down from 169 last week.  I had some binging last week and my birthday was before that so I think that's why I gained before and now lost so fast.  It goes up and down pretty drastically but evens out.  Water lol

I'm so glad we are getting losses this week!  Even if they are small it's better than a maintain or worse a gain!!  Great job ladies :D

Shoot!  I've been so busy with work and kids.  Work night, kids days bah.  I'm sorry I forgot to weigh in for the last two fridays :(

Between my bday and just being so busy I haven't watched what I've eaten.  I just grab quick junk.

Weight this morning-169

The last weigh in was 164.7 I believe.  Ugh.  So I'm going to work on making time.  I gotta do more exercise too.  I hope everyone is doing good, better than me! :)

I don't expect this again because I did really well all this week and VERY crappy last week.  That's why the drastic number but I'll take it either way :D  I had a great week of eating fairly well and close to my caloric limit also did exercise all but one day.

Congrats on the losses!

I think you can get some calories burned from hula hoop.  I do it on the WiiFit and try to beat my previous record so I go fast and my ab muscles are very sore.  I dunno, but I think it works.  I sweat and I'm sore so...  Probably just depends on how hard you push yourself.

Foods Need to up my fiber...like A LOT. Suggestions please Jul 14 2008

Fiber one has 3 different cereals that taste yummy.  One is a caramel that tastes just like cinnamon toast crunch.  It's soooo good.  Their granola bars are awesome also.  Kashi cereal is great too and has protein.  Any fresh fruits/veggies are good too.

Foods How many calories in homemade, no sugar added jam? Jul 13 2008
20:04 (UTC)

Smuckers fruit only jam has about 25 calories per tablespoon.  I would just log that because it's close.  It's not sugar-free though, because that has sweeteners, it's just called fruit only.  Other than that, you could look up a jelly recipe w/ no sugar and type that into the recipe calculator.  Yummy!  I love good fruit jelly.  My grandma used to make the best fruit only jams and jelly.  Enjoy!  and good choice on getting fresh homemade no sugar added.

Sizes vary a lot when you get S/M/L/XL  If you get Juniors XL it sometimes can be like S/M in womens.  Usually XL equals 16/18.

Way to go on being able to buy something in the regular section!  That's awesome, keep up the great work!

Weight Loss Fighting Cravings Jul 13 2008

Exercise, water, coffee, crystal light (I water it down a lot), gum, brushing teeth.  Never heard of flossing before, that's a good idea.  If you brush, flosh, floride or listerine rinse, that will take a few minutes of time and maybe your mind off the craving and plus it will taste weird with all that freshness lol.  I'll have to try that one ;-p

Foods About how many calories? Jul 12 2008
03:37 (UTC)

It depends on what percentage fat and how many ounces the patty is.  But I think it's likely it could be close to 300.  mushrooms, vegetables are not that much calories.  Lean beef is pretty good too.  I would just go with what the site says as long as you are putting in the correct foods and amounts it will be accurate.
