Ngemma: i think alot of the people who started this thread and carried it on for a long time have started to drift away from cc because they are either nearly recovered or simply feel that cc is to obssesive for them. Also many of them know have blogs instead. |

For me, it was important in my recovery to begin to include sweets and deserts as they were some of the first things i started to restrict and consequently became big fear foods. I dont think there ia aything wrong with a bit of fun food especially if you get lots of nutriton elsewhere. Like gibbet i am an avid baker/cook and tend to have steady streams of cakes and muffins and have recently started eat them for breakfast a la rebel! Most importantly food is meant to be a pleasure in life not the enemy so if for you you would like to eat the muffin or sweets then go ahead and enjoy the pleasure that was intended. |

Charlie: When gaining, generally everything is higher beacuse well...your eating more than average in the first place. The sugar in fruit is all natural and if you want to enjoy a packet of maltesers or some tirumusu go ahed and just enjoy it beacuse you are gaining and you seem to be getting lots of nutrition in all your other meals/snacks. Headingup: How are you doing hun?? roseofjune: welcome to cc but your plan is not enough. I must remind you that you really shouldnt post your meal plan unless it is 2500 at least as this is a minimum for enyone gaining weight. This forum is great for ideas and i im really happy you have chosen to recover. Firstly, you need to cut out the fat free..so bye bye mullerlight... and start eating full nutritous meals and snacks It helps if you split your day up and give xxx amout of cals per meal. Whatever works for you but it may be easier to eat little and often so early in recovery. Personally i eat 3000 and break my day up like this: 700, 300, 700, 300, 700, 300 Each meal needs protein, carbs and fat in it preferably with some fruit or veg too and you should really start getting to grips will cal dense foods (pb, avocado etc) to help up the cals with the smallest impact. Eating small cal dense meals is alot easier on the digestion than huge non dense meals too. I hope this helps and perhaps LALA can post the link to here 'the aim is to gain' thread to give you some more guidence.

I have been maitaning for a while until my new gw was set so it was my first week back to gaining, so the scale going up was a bit of a shock. I know some of it will be water as i upped quite a bit but I or rather ed is still a little upset by it. I just feel....anoyyed, stupid for gaining weight, upset...i dunno just finsing it har to accept that im not tiny anymore. Kind like im grieving for the old me. Anyways on the posotive. Its 2 more lbs to healthy. |

i really sorry to hear about your experiance hun. In answer to your question about weight: 115lb -120lbs is still pretty underweight for you height. When i was 115 is was still really ill, i am now at 121lbs and you can still see my ribs which is definatly not a good sign. I think 130 is a better goal but its differant for everyone, you need to be whats healthy for you. |

Heading up: your menu looks realy yummy!! I dont think you need to worry about eating to much sweet stuff. As long as you dont get sick of it lol;) You could up cals with stuff like a few tbsp olive oil here and there or some nuts mixed in to a dish instead. Some savory snacks could be: Hummus with breadsticks/ pita bread and vegetable crudites for dipping, perhaps something like mini meal e.g 1/2 a sandwich or a small pasta salad would be quite good. Toast is also good. You can have anything and everything on toast:) Sorry ive been a bit MIA tthis week, i have been nursing a shoulder/chest injury from trampolining at school. I wrote out some 3000cal meal plans though too make sure i am getting there. Hope you are all good. |

Agru and Chirrp: i have to agree that bars are great for those who are away from home alot. I am in school and stay behind for over 2 hours nearly everynight as i am finishing course work for my gcse's. Taking a bar is just convinent and easy to do but i also take other things like bags of nuts, bananas and oatcakes with peanut butter too. My point being, not all bars are bad but for some people its a matter of fitting refeeding into there very busy day and taking responsibility. |

| Health & Support | Bruising Easily - Is Something Wrong?? | Feb 19 2009 21:57 (UTC) |

perhaps the bruising could be a deficieny in something. I know blood thinning meds like warferin (sp??) can cause people to bruise easily and conditions which cause the blood to be unable to clott properly also cause this. I think you should really get this checked out to by a doctor as there are more serious illness realted to easy bruising like lukemia and she/ he will be the only one able to give you proper tests and a definative answer. |

Finleys: ways to get in quick cals could be to use extra nuts, butter, cheese and oil wherever possible. Perhaps add some oilve oil to your veggies or add some extra butter to your toast. You could add a layer of whole-fat cheese (cream cheese or whatever you like) to a sandwich. Another idea is to add desert after dinner or lunch. You could pack all your cals into this if you wanted. Finally, you could also have a glass of fruit juice at each meal. Breakfast: oatmeal made with semi skimmed milk, strawberries, blueberries, almonds and tbsp homemade almond butter. Snack:slice w.w toast with pb and banana Lunch: homemade mac and cheese :). Apple. Blueberry yogurt Snack: large serving houmous and carrot sticks (needs using up) Dinner: 2 Quorn lamb grills, 50g (uncooked weight) brown rice and 2 servings of veg. Snack: Hot choclate made with milk. |

| Weight Gain | Struggling with exercise | Feb 19 2009 09:06 (UTC) |

For me, i had to just quit exercising cold turkey. I tried to cut down (like you and do yoga etc) but ther ewas always something there that willed me to do just a little more or just a little longer. In essence, carrying on doing the exercise just kept on feeding my ed and i only succeded in making things harder for myself and damaging my body more and more. Now, after months and months of no exercise i no longer feel the need or complusion to do hours of exercise and am much happier. I dont have to run up every flight of stairs i see and i can sit and read a book or watch a movie without a second thought. If you really want to exercise, you HAVE to eat it back. No excuses. Perhaps even prepare a certain snack to have after each time you exercise and make sure you take it with you or have it prepared so you cant wimp out. Things like pilates are beneficial like lala has said, but if you are at a dangerous weight than it can do more damage than good. Finally, listen to your body. If you are tired or sore, then stop and rest. If nessacary take someone with you and give them a time limit and tell them to stop you. I know this nearly saved my life once. |

Chirpp: weetabix is a kind of cereal...kinda hard to describe lol. Agru: i by no means me to attack in any way..but i have to agree with chirpp. Sometimes i can find your posts a little offensive, over the top and yes a bit contolling. Lala is simply following her own rules...dont post menus which are below what you need...and she is taking responsiblity for the fact she has had a few slips. Lala: I hope you are starting to feel better. I know you've been having a hard time latley and just wanted to say.....you have got everyone behind you here (im sure more people can echo this). You are simply inspirational in the way you have started to pick yourself up again and i know you CAN do this.

lala: sorry for such a negative post. I know i shouldnt be weighing my self but it was such a strong compulsion today. I was shocked beacuse i had only upped by 250 so far. I am actually trying to just get that last lb to stick. It keeps going on then off when eating 2500 (i gained on 3000) so this week i finally thought 'lets add some more to make it stay there' and then my body goes nuts. Ed is fighting my descison so much but i think ive blubbed most of it out to my therapist today. Breakfast: 3 egg omlette cooked with tbsp olive oil. Oatmeal made with semi skimmed milk, strawberries, blueberries and cinnemon. Snack: large handful cashew nuts. Medium banana Lunch: 2 slices ww bread with Quorn chicken slices and 1/4 avocado. Yogurt. Apple Snack:Large serving Hummus and carrot sticks Dinner: 2 servings og homemade veggie chilli (from bbc good food lala!!) with 1/2 brown rice. Snack: Large mug of ovaltine made with milk. |
