going in the wrong direction! However, I have a new tool: Intuitive Eating. I am an unconscious eater (I don't think about the food while I am eating it--I just obsess about the food all the rest of the time). So I have a new approach: be present in the moment of eating: no reading, surfing, browsing, games. Going to be tough. May not always be successful. But it's a good direction for me I think. I sure hope so!

There's physical cravings and mental compulsions--they are tough to deal with. I deprived myself for years just keeping stuff out of the house. My mother did the same. What happens when you open the floodgates? What happens when you or someone you love brings the "bad" food into the house?

I am going to add more meditation to my daily practices, and I am going to forgive myself no matter how much or how often I fail and give in to the cravings and compulsions. I'm going through a rough time now, and I'm reaching out, and I'm taking care of myself. I have logged every morsel, and I have jumped on the wii fit for my body tests too. I know what is happening.

Good luck with restricting, depriving and bingeing. I'm going to keep trying to live.

Oh my. My favorite way to eat Nutella is by the spoonful. I did eat 2 jars in one week...last night, tho', I held it to one spoon. Still, it's so good. I hope I can learn portion control...

Well, I'd like to think I can lose a pound a week...not likely...still I've been down to 238 a couple of times now...maybe this month it will stick!

Got to agree with gi-jane & sugarshocked--you are describing a mental/emotional issue, not a food/weight/exercise issue. You say you "developed an ED" but you don't refer to any counseling or therapy for it. Did you actually get a diagnosis? Don't get me wrong, it sounds like an ED, no question.

If you have not received any professional help for your ED, you are depriving yourself of something your body and mind need. I hope you will seek out the professional support as well as a support group. There are some groups on CC that are supportive of ED, but in all of them you are encouraged to have actual F2F professional support of a therapist and a nutritionist.

Be good and kind to yourself, and supply your needs. That kind of abundance and peace will then overflow into your relationships and improve your world.

You haven't created a profile, and you're not journaling. Doesn't look like since May you have reached out to anyone to buddy them. So the question is: are you actually logging your food and activity? Have you taken the "what kind of eater" test? Do you know how many calories you need?

Yes, it's slow. There are ups and downs. This is not a temporary fast "diet." This is a new way of living. If you are serious about getting healthy and fit, "how long" is not really the question. The question is how much of yourself are you willing to commit to the journey?

Use the tools. Find your community. Stick to it. It gets better.
