Weight Loss I am irritated. May 27 2008

a pound is a pound weather its fat or muscle they both weigh the same. now muscle is more dense than fat that is the difference, if your working out , feeling better, looking leaner because of better muscle tone, then dont worry so much about the numbers on the scale. its how you feel that counts.

Hi I might be a bit younger than you but i surely can relate to the "M" word..hot flashes, night sweats, cravings, bloatingness, skin problems, sudden acne all over again, and those devil horns that come out in the blink of an eye when i turn into a Shedevil from hell only to break down crying 5 mins later. I too have so many possible inherited problems in my family, that is why I am trying so hard to lose this fat i have. my dad and 3 brothers have heart problems, my sister has lupus, high blood pressure, dad and brother have diabetes, mom has high blood pressure, i have high blodd pressure. I truely fel like a walking time bomb. my peri-menopause started when I was 29. I will be turning 40 here in a few months. I would love to have a buddy or two or three on here to help encourage me along the way and I would love to encourage others too the best i can. Hope to hear from you soon.

I baked little mini brownie bites... I had two. I put the rest up for the rest of the family. although I could have eaten more. Then last night I got this sudden urge to snack. went to the plate.. picked one up and then remembered that i was weighing in today.. I said Nope out loud for myself to hear. put it down. walked away and went on to bed. This morning, my first week weigh in .... 7 pounds lost. :)

not sure how much truth there is to this but i was always told a person loses weight in the reverse order that it was gained. thats why when you lose weight your face will show it first, then hands, legs, arms etc.. since the belly is, most the time, the first place you gain it will be the last place you lose. plus the longer you are over wieght the more likely your skin is going to stay stretched. just a thought.

Pregnancy & Parenting How long did it take you to get pregnant? May 16 2008

never use birth control but when i did become pregnant the first time it was a tubal pregnancy. 6 months later i had another tubal pregnancy. 3 months after that i went back to have the tube removed they said i had pcos. i had 16 cyst on each ovary. they drilled holes in my ovaries to airate them and drain the cyst. they put me on low dose of clomid and 3 months later i was pregnant again. my daughter who is now 10. went back on clomid  almost imediately nothing happened. they up the dose. still nothing... 6 nonths later, without drugs or "trying" i was pregnant.. but it was a belighted ovam, i miscarried. sold all my baby stuff considered myself blessed with my daughter. moved to VA and 3 weeks later i was pregnant.. again.. my son who is now 6. withall that said. i truely feel no doctor, meds or procedure can determine if you will get pregnant.. God above is charge of that. remain faithful and he will bless you.

Fitness Diagnosed with Pleurisy May 15 2008

2 years ago i was taken to hosp via ambulance, thinking i was having a heart attack. turns out it was  pleurisy. It can be very painful. but it does go away. from i was told and was able to figure out. the lining in the chest wall becomes inflamed. Pleursiy is the first sign of lupus, which i now have. so if you develop any weird looking rashes on your skin esp the face, joint pain, headaches, faitgued, or anything else that seems not normal for you. talk to your doctor. just do like he/she said and rest. once you feel better just take it slow and limit the workout routine in the chest area until doc says its ok.

This is day two for me. making sure i log my calories and activity. not worrying so much about what i eat as of yet. trying to get into the habbit of logging. making small changes here and there. reducing soda intake untill i am no longer drinking it. no seconds with meals, cutting back on snacks and not eating later in the evening. once i have those under control then i will start switching my food choices around for more healthier choices. next week i plan on increasing my activity little by little. i have alreaady set my first few goals and rewards. small simple things leading up to bigger and better things. new hair cut, new outfit, and my 50 lb reward will be a new bike so i can alternate walking and bike riding ro reduce being bored with the same activity. hopefully my plan will go well. Until next time.........
