Oh I have completely been right in your shoes! Down to the same height and goal weight too... My all time favorite "kick ED in the butt" song - Fighter by Christina Aguilera. LOVE IT! |

I wasn't allowed to do any exercise while I was in the weight restoration phase. And when I first started, my weight was so low I lost weight eating anything less than 4000 calories. I don't know how much you need to gain, but it is very possible to need that much to gain. As for where the weight gain comes, it doesn't come back all over. It usually does come back in one area first then begins to even out. Mine came back a lot in my middle and upper body (where I normally never carried my weight) and has shifted and evened out some now. Its still kind of evening itself out. So don't worry - it will normalize!! |

Hey, I'm basically the same height as you and know how you feel about sometimes seeming too high for our height. Looking at your profile and pictures it looks like we've been through similar weight stages, too. I know I felt a little uncomfortable at 118 and was there a lot this past semester. Right now I'm about 112 -113 and honestly, I'm not sure my body wants to go much lower. You are at a healthy weight, so it could be as they've mentioned above that's where your body wants to be. I know I have wide hip bones and fairly broad shoulders... and have a medium, muscular build. I also started to get concerned looks when I got under about 108 pounds I was suffering from anorexia. So don't aim too low. You look perfectly healthy in your pictures. Take the advice of others and try to tone, instead of lose. And yes, you should probably up your calories a bit. I usually have end up with about 1500 a day. |

Haha, lalabanana - that is soooo true about it being the weight gainers savior! I would literally eat a jar every couple days when I had to have over 4000 calories to gain weight/not lose when I first started refeeding after my ed.

Meh. About the same... 113. But I didn't really have much of a deficit this week. Basically ate at maintenance so I guess it's a plus that I stayed where I weighed in last week and didn't gain :) |

Well, well, well - I decided to step on the scale when I got home from the gym tonight and 112.5. Really?!? That was quite exciting. Not sure if I really believe it. Maybe it's the extra bloating and sodium from the holiday season coming off. I can't help but think it's not true. Ha. But it did read that three times in a row (Just had to make sure...) |

Really? That's awesome! I've been able to still get my exercise in so far this week, but I know as the weeks go on things will become quite busier. But still, definitely encouraging! Thanks for the motivation bbfxvtub! |

Wow. I'm already finding this encouraging! After feeling I was the only 5'2"-er in that weight range. Glad to know I'm not the only one in this position. Not sure my body will let me get lower, but hey - I'll never know if I don't try. As far as a particular day to weigh in... A few people already said they weigh in on different days. I'll probably check in on Fridays - haha before the weekend :) I'd say just keep up with your normal weigh in schedule, and check in once a week. |

While there's not much to loose - why not still do it weekly? It's a little motivation to stay on track and check in each week :)

Yes!!! I am right there with you. I have practically the same stats as you, and looking to get back down to about 108 - where I was at the beginning of the summer. I felt comfortable and happy there. So I will definitely join you on this one :) |

Glad to hear I wasn't alone this past week :) I never thought about a higher number on the scale helping me get back into routine, but I guess it would kick by butt back into gear. Definitely an eye opener and a good reminder of what I don't want to continue. I like that quote, as well jen. Very true! Good luck getting back on track as well :) |

I know for me, it was when I wouldn't gain a thing on anything less that 4,000 calories a day. When I first started, I would lose on anything under 3,000. I definitely needed 4 to 5,000 calories a day to gain anything when mathematically a normal person could gain a pound a week just by adding 500 extra calories each day above their maintenance. |

usually the servers bus the tables... unless their really busy, we need the table, or i'm bored do i have to bus the tables. the pedometer is a good idea though... it'd be a great way to see how much walking around campus i do too.

i'm 5'2"... highest was around 140... lowest, well, not gonna go there. i'm around 115 right now - middle of the day, with clothes on... so somewhere between 110 and 115 after a long road of recovery. i'd love to be around 108 or so... but we'll see. i'm alright with where i am now and not going to risk relapsing by going lower. if i get there, awesome; if not, i'll live :) |

| Weight Gain | A little scared to get to 3000... | May 22 2008 00:21 (UTC) |

linny's right... you only gain if you increase. i was also active throughout my recovery (probably shouldn't have been at all... but yeah...), and i have to say that it is truly possible you need at least 3000 to gain. i never imagined it was possible, but i barely gained a thing unless i had 4000-5000 cals a day. it was INSANE. nuts are definitely a good idea, and peanut butter... maybe add drinks like ensure to a couple of your meals or as an extra snack... try higher calorie breads for sandwiches and things like that too to you don't feel like your always eating. |
