I just started taking Adipex 37.5 (phentermine) 1x daily.  You have to take early in the morning, drink lots of water, which it will make you have dry mouth.  I do have some nights where I can't sleep.  I do have high energy.  I am not hungry...I have to keep up with the time and make myself eat on my doctors schedule.  I would recommend calling around to different pharmacys to get the best price.  I got mine filled at Winn Dixie and it cost $21.00 for 30 pills.  Walgreens and CVS was $35, Walmart was $25.00. 
I have been on for 2 1/2 weeks and have lost 11 pounds.  If you don't eat, drink the water, and follow the rules you will make the symptoms worse.  My doctor said that it takes about a week or so for your body to get use to the pill.

I went on leave 2 weeks before my due date...I actually was hospitalized the day before I was to go on leave so I didn't get any rest ahead of time.  Working was a necessity and I took a total of 8 weeks off for leave.  I had complications...was planning to go back after 6 weeks but didn't work out that way.

HELP!!!  I have a dilema...okay so my scale that I have been complaining about started popping and was still giving me weird weights (I would weigh myself a couple of times in a row and it would be majorly different sometimes) so yesterday I bought a new one.  It's a fancy one like they use at my doctors office and it even has sensors that measure your body fat.  It differs ALOT from my other scale...10 pounds different.  It says I weigh 303...I can not believe that I have gained 10 pounds in a week, no way...I haven't really cheated.

I am really depressed because I don't know if I have gained weight or if it is just the scales having a difference.  I feel horrible though because I am over 300 again.

I am so glad that there are more people like me...I was begining to think that there were only "skinny" people on here trying to lose weight.  When I have one of those struggle days I get upset when I see people moaning on this website about losing weight and they weight 150, 140, 160.  I dream of those sizes...if only they knew how we feel and what we go through.  The other ones that are 130 120 110. I just roll my eyes and and don't bother to read their posts.  Not that I am trying to be mean I just don't understand them as I have never been small.  Try carrying around another person on your body and then complain. 

All I want is to get rid of the term obese completely.  I will be satisfied, I will be able to handle slightly overweight but Obese hurts and Morbidly Obese makes me cry. 

Thank all of you for posting and those of you whom have messaged me I don't feel alone anymore!!!  I wish all of you luck and we will do this!  WE CAN DO IT!

Did they give you any antibiotics?  I had a c-section with my little girl and it got infected.  The hardness that they noticed when my staples were removed was actually infection and fluid built up and it eventually my incision busted open and I had to go back into the hospital for about a week and then we had to pack my stomach so it could heal from the inside out for two months.  I had a gross two inch wide and about two inch deep hole.

Not trying to scare you but you did say that you went to the doctor so just wanted to make sure that they treated you for infection.  I had other serious issues too pre-eclampsia plus my daughter had to be taken back to the hospital for more jaundice treatments so I might have over done it a little which probably attributed to my incision busting open. 

My recommendation is to take it as easy as you can...I know it is going to be hard with twins.  Congrats to you by the way!!!  It will be a little while before you feel yourself again...just take care of yourself and enjoy those babies they don't stay little and cuddly for long...they eventually turn into independant 2 1/2 year olds that don't want cuddling and a mommy to help them out.

It is common for post-pubescent females to display some degree of cellulite. There appears to be a hormonal component to its presentation. It is rarely seen in males.[1] It is seen more commonly in males with androgen-deficient states such as Klinefelter's syndrome, hypogonadism, post-castration states and in those patients receiving estrogen therapy for prostate cancer. The cellulite becomes more severe as the androgen deficiency worsens in these males.  Cellulite is not related to being overweight; average and underweight people also get cellulite.[1]

Causes

One plausible explanation - which also explains why very few men suffer from cellulite - is based on the composition and behavior of women's fat cells and the connective tissue that holds them in place. Very simply, a woman's connective tissue is very inflexible, so as females gain weight their fat cells expand, and tend to bulge upwards towards the surface of the skin, giving the classic orange-peel appearance of cellulite. In men, not only is there generally less fat on the thighs, but also the outer skin is thicker and thus obscures what is happening to any surplus fat below.

The causes are poorly understood, and several changes in metabolism and physiology may cause cellulite or contribute to cellulite. Among these are a disorder of water metabolism, abnormal hyperpolymerization of the connective tissue, and chronic venous insufficiency.[1]

[Hormonal factors

Hormones play a dominant role in the formation of cellulite. Estrogen is the most important hormone. It seems to initiate, and aggravate cellulite. Other hormones including insulin, the catecholamines adrenaline and noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin have all been shown to participate in the development of cellulite.[1]

Predisposing factors

Several genetic factors have been shown to be necessary for cellulite to develop. Gender, race, biotype,[3] a hormone receptor allele that determines the receptor number and sensitivity, distribution of subcutaneous fat, and predisposition to circulatory insufficiency have all been shown to contribute to cellulite.[1]

Diet

Diet has been shown to affect the development and amount of cellulite. Excessive amounts of fat, carbohydrates, salt, or too little fiber can all contribute to an increased cellulite.[1]

Increasing protein should help add collagen and build muscle to burn fat and contain fat.

Lifestyle

Smoking, lack of exercise, fatty/starchy foods, and sitting or standing in a single position for long periods have all been correlated with an increase in cellulite. A high stress lifestyle will cause an increase in the catecholamine hormones. [1]

I hope you have better luck than I did.  I think this is why I gained back 5 of the pounds that I lost.  We went for chinese also a buffet and I didn't realize that the food was loaded with sodium and calories.  I didn't know the exact caloric count either but I looked up generic versions of stuff that I ate and in the two meals that I had even only eating one plate of food I probably ate close to 2500-3000 calories if not more in one of those meals. 
I haven't been to a Chinese place since then.

Don't look back just keep going try to exercise a little more every day this week to make up for your cheating.  That is all that you can do.  Don't stress because it will make you want to stress eat and feel bad about yourself.

Started trying really hard to lose weight about 6 weeks ago.

I am worried I have hit a plateau also...:(  I have been doing good and trying to follow the rules but less than a pound lost this week.  My weigh in days right now are.  I am going to up my bike time to 52 minutes again, plus I am going to add weight training (5lb weights) 3 days a week for 20 minutes, plus adding sit-ups and push-ups that is if my back will allow me.  Woke up yesterday with my back killing me after doing the few sit-ups I could manage Monday night.

Any one else have back, knee and ankle trouble...even walking alot swells my ankles and makes my knees hurt.  I am so ready to get rid of the other person that I am carrying around so that I can be active without paying for it the next day.

Slim fast really upset my stomach and gave me horrible acid reflux (heartburn). I would be hungry also a little while after drinking a shake.

This website makes it really easy to count calories. I started trying to lose weight 6 weeks ago and have lost 21.6 pounds so far. I found this website March 14th. It is encouraging because I am finding foods that I like that are health and are low calorie plus I can see in a graph of what everything is.

Right now my goal is 1700 calories a day. If I need to adjust it and my exercising I will do it when I need to. To give you an idea: 1st week: 6 pounds 2nd week: 10 pounds 3rd week: 2 pounds 4th week: 3 pounds 5th week: cheated (stupid me gained back 5 pounds) 6th week: 5 pounds

Keep in mind that you will not lose as fast as I am since I weigh alot more than you do but you can lose it without starving yourself or drinking nasty food replacement drinks.

Hi,

I am new here too.  I started trying to really lose weight about 5 weeks ago.  My starting weight was 314...I  have lost 21.6 pounds and I have a long way to go.  I had a cheat week in there and gained back 5 pounds and I am so mad at myself.  My husband is in the Navy and deployed right now so the stress level is high here.  I have been fat all of my life since I was in second grade.  I have a two year old little girl also.  That is why I want to lose weight I don't want her to be like me also I want to be around for her.  The doctor has put me on my last chance to get my cholestrol down.  I would love a buddy to go through this with.  Feel free to message me anytime...:)
