So, 2900 calories a day if I were to be running for a medium length of time in the mornings? That sounds like a huge, committed number! But I will take your word for it. My previous endeavors ended badly because I got so wrapped up in what I could and could not eat that I stopped having a life outside of food. Aha.

Anyway, thank you, guys!

I do not understand why cereal is such a trigger food for you guys, lol. I love cereal as much as you guys, but I eat some and then I'm done. Weird how things work for different people!

But for me I have a very difficult time stopping myself from eating peanut butter. I have two tablespoons, sometimes as a sandwich but most of the time alone, and then I just go back and scoop tablespoon after tablespoon and the whole time it is calculating in my head for every serving--"180, 360, 540, ...."--and I feel ridiculous but totally happy. I love peanut butter, aha!

Then of course there is pizza, which I carelessly and periodically gorge myself on.

I won't even mess with ice cream or cookies here because it is SO EASY for me to go pick up a huge package of each and eat them UP. I do this on several occasions as well, but show no signs of physical transformation afterwards luckily! (Boyhood is very spoiling.)

Wikipedia just told me this about Splenda:

"Energy (caloric) content

Though marketed in the U.S. as a “No calorie sweetener,” Splenda products that also include bulking agents contain about 86% of the calories as the same mass of sugar (331 calories per 100 g vs. 387 calories per 100 g for sugar).[9] However, since Splenda is about 14.5% as dense as sugar, a given volume of Splenda has 12.4% the energy of the same volume of sugar.[10] When sucralose is added to commercial products such as diet drinks, the bulking agent is not present and no caloric energy is added.

Although the “nutritional facts” label on Splenda’s retail packaging states that a single serving of 0.5 gram (1 teaspoon or 5 milliliters) contains zero calories, Splenda actually contains 1.66 calories per teaspoon.[11] The individual, tear-open packages are 1 gram servings which therefore contain 3.31 calories. Such labeling is appropriate in the U.S. because the FDA’s regulations permit a product to be labeled as “zero calories” if the “food contains less than 5 calories per reference amount customarily consumed and per labeled serving.”[12] Because Splenda contains a relatively small amount of sucralose, little of which is metabolized, virtually all of Splenda’s caloric content derives from the highly fluffed dextrose or maltodextrin bulking agents that give Splenda its volume. Like other carbohydrates, dextrose and maltodextrin have 3.75 calories per gram."

That slightly confuses me, but what I'm getting from it is that Splenda legally has no calories but realistically does. Or maybe it said that we can't use Splenda's calories? Whatever.

I am an 18 year old male at close to
145 pounds and about
5'11".

So obviously I am quite thin. Basically what I'm aiming to do is replace any "flab" on my body with lean muscle. I've been doing modeling recently and I'd love to be able to flaunt some lean muscle.

I started at about 155 lbs. I've been through a lot of less-than-1000-calorie-a-day weeks before joining here and learning about how bad that is. Hopefully my metabolism isn't completely shot. I binge sometimes; my vices are pizza and peanut butter (not together).

Anyway, that's that!

I love peanut butter and just seeked out a low-calorie alternative today. I came across Better 'N Peanut Butter. Look that up. The only bad thing, it seems, is that it is expensive! Of course I am going to order some soon, though.
