Hello Everyone,

Well let me start by saying that my current weight is 204.4 (yay!!!).

If you all ask why (yay)  let me just tell you I started this long life journey at 285. I have been on this site for about 6 month now. I love the forum when I'm not to busy with my kids and work.

 

Q. What did everyone do today for Exercise?

I walk on my 15 minute break around our office. Daily

Tonight I'll get on my elliptical for about 20 minutes.

Beside this website I use my bodybugg to tell me how active I've been for the day.

Q. What is your game plan or plan of attack for weight loss?

Everyone says don't starve yourself but most people need to realize that people like me don't even come close to starving myself. What I mean is my thought of starving is probably what an average person my size should eat. I was use to everything being so large in portion size (SUPER SIZED EVERYTHING).  I now say I have to eat like a bird but my bird eating is still around 1300-1600 calorie depending on how active i was that day. So yes I am always hungry. But that's not starving that eating healthy and losing weight.

Q. Do you count and log calories?

YES, I have to otherwise how else I'm I suppose to know how much I'm eating.

Q. Do you drink a certain amount of water each day?

No not really. I try to drink my 8 glasses of water a day but sometime I can't.

Q. What do you think helped you so far?

First would be seeing a picture of myself at 280.

And trying be more active walking is were I started and still do it.

Q. Did you give up anything or plan for it once in a while?

No not really last night I wanted so of my kids Halloween candy so I ate a snack size payday calories about 100 calories. But don't let that fool you that's not often and as long as I didn't go over my calorie for that day I have stayed in my budget of calories.

Q. What do you do when PMS hits you if it does?

Well beside go absolutely crazy. I take magnesium when I start craving sweets and it works for me. And drink a lot of water and I do not weight myself for at least 4 days after my period.(water weight)

Q. How or What do you eat when going out to eat?

I try to look up the restaurant before hand that I'm going too and figure out how many calorie I want to eat.

Good Morning to everyone.

Well my last weight was 210.6 and this morning I'm 209.

Yay!!! closer

That's 5 lbs since we started this challenge only 15 more to go.

I hope I get there by Halloween (194).

I have been on this journey for about 3 years now I started at 280 lbs and have not stopped. Excluding when I was pregnant 2 yrs ago.

Hello girls,

So I'm here to report my weigh in.

starting weight: 214

Today's weight is (drum roll Please) 211.2

This is really good !! I have been cutting my sodium and I just started my menstrual cycle and haven't gained 5 or 6 pounds. Yay for me!!!!

And just to let you know I weighed myself on Wednesday and I was 210.2 so I figured that one pound is water.

I think you probably burn more calorie than you think.

Go to this site and go to activity calculator and put your weight and height in.

Then just start from the beginning of your day with taking a shower or brushing your teeth. Everything that you would do in a typical day don't include exercising. So you can see how many calories you burn with out it. Then you can add it in to see the differences.

It says not more than 2 hours a day.

That totally confused me too. So I went on line and searched how many calories i burn i came up with this article about if all I did is lay in bed without any movement or emotional feeling I would burn about 1731 calorie just my organs to work. That not including eating walking around or taking a showing or getting out of bed. Isn't that crazy. So here are the links that i used hope it help you out.

Hello rutgut,

Do I know about binging on sweets right before my period!!!

I regularly never eat or think about sugar (sweets) until the week that I'm about to start my period. I also know that along with wanting something sweet I have my regular mood swings with PMSing so I have no control by the second day of my cravings. So I usually do very good for about 3 weeks out of the month I lose about 1lb a week but I gain it all back just in that week that I'm on my period.Cry

So my last period I started surfing the net to see if there was something I could do to help myself with binging. I found this article about are body preparing to lose blood and so it craves carb or sugar to help our body recover. Here is something I found to help. I just googled PMS cravings.

 

In initial research, the supplementation of magnesium has resulted in the satisfying of chocolate cravings. Since both chocolate and cocoa powder contain high levels of magnesium (520mg/100gm and 100mg/100gm, respectively), your craving of chocolate may just reflect your desire to supplement this essential element. Additionally, there are links between low magnesium levels and the development of PMS symptoms, which may explain some women’s monthly chocolate binge.  

So I ran to the closest store to buy a bottle of magnesium and volia I didn't have any cravings. I still was boated and had my bad mood swings. But no more SUGAR.

Ok, so he's over weight. What kinda person is he?

All I can tell you is "you can just be friends" if you meet and your not attracted to him just let him know (nicely) that your not attracted to him.

I'm over weight when I meet my boyfriend I weighed about 230lbs he only weighed 170.

All I know is that Now I weigh 211 and he weighs 165 we both are eating healthier and living a healthy life style.

He motivates me to do better and never stop exercising and eating right.

And if you ask him he'll tell you that I motivate him by eating right and exercising (he had high blood pressure).

So to sum my thoughts together

Is give this man a chance maybe he wants to change but doesn't know how.

You can just be a friend to help him.

And I agree don't talk to him about his weight. Just be yourself.

And show him how much you care about what you eat and that you take care of your body by exercising.

Hello debbrnot2b,

I'm here to tell you that yes I have tried the Idiot Proof diet. I have the generator that tells me what to eat. Yes, I lost about 4 or 5 lbs doing it. My problem with these kind of diets are that they give you a list of about 60 different item that you can choose from and if don't like seafood that make the list even smaller. I just got tired of eating the same thing over and over again. So now I count calories

I did start with a friend that lost 25 lbs on the Idiot diet but now she off and I think gaining it back.

Hello Mollie,

I know what your going through. I have been in the same range for awhile. I lose 3 lbs and gain 2 lbs back that's how it's been for me.

Ideas to help you : Log your food for the entire day at breakfast so you know what your eating for that day.

I also log in my exercise too. If I happen to change my plans then I delete them and add the right one on.

I also write in my journal at least once a week.

I try to weigh myself twice a month on the 1st and the 15th.

I'm also starting this new zig zag diet sounds promising.(start date Monday)

I hope that some of these idea's will help you.

Yay!!! I weighed myself this morning and I'm 211 only lost 6oz it's better than gaining so I'm happy. I still feel bloated and gassy so maybe it the food I'm eating.

I don't know I'm just happy with the small lost for this week.

I'm very nervous I weighed myself this morning and the scale said that I gained two pounds. The only thing I can think of is my menstrual cycle is coming. I feel gassy and bloated but I should start around the first of the month so I'm not sure what it is. I did have a bad weekend. Saturday was my daughter's b-day party so I had a small piece of cake and some chips. Maybe that did it!

Hello everyone,

I'm also so busy. I have 4 children and don't have time for anything. It's hard for me to get on-line at home I have two pre-teens at home that love get on-line. So there is little time for me to get on.

I started on cc in late July 2008 I really like how much support you get from everyone. My journey started 2 1/2 years ago I weighed 280lbs after giving birth to my 3rd child. I was sick of looking at myself so I started with just cutting down on food. Then after a while I did the low carb diet. Then I got pregnant again with my forth child. But that did stop me. A year later (she 1yrs old on 7/22/08 tomorrow) I'm down to 213lbs and have been stuck here for a while.

My goal weight is to be 165lbs by February 1st. Why you ask? Well since I have lost most of my weight already and I only have about 46lbs to go. I'm getting my self a Breast lift and Tummy tuck. Yes it all set up already went to the doctor and paid half to set my date (surgery date 2/2/09).

I think that I deserve it.Laughing

I looked into the "lacking weekend motivation" it looks like what I need. So I'll logging in Friday night and Sunday to keep myself motivated. I'm going into this weekend knowing that  I will post how I did this weekend. Just to keep me motivated I weight myself this morning I'm at 213. I know that I'll be down one or two pounds by this weekend. But I'm challenging myself not just to maintain but to keep losing through the weekend.Wink

Well I have an idea. Lets try to help each other. Do you have access to get on-line on the weekends? And do you have the time? We can be accountable for ever thing we ate on the weekend. And support each other through the weekend. I'm willing to get on this Friday night before the amusement park day and Sunday night tell you how I did. I'm tired of this cycle too.
