I will only disagree with one thing - the preground flax seed (which is what I buy) does not loose all its benefits. I use flax seed to control my cholesterol (it works amazing by the way, I have been able to do this instead of medication on the referal of my Dr.) And it works wonderful, so the pre ground works well also :) |

I religiously have 2 tbl of ground flax seed everyday, I mix it in with everything I eat. I mix it with peanutbutter for toast in the morning, add it to my oatmeal, my spagetti sauce - everything to get up to 2 tbls a day.

| The Lounge | am i allowed to ask about same-sex marriages? | Apr 10 2009 21:49 (UTC) |

I am all for same sex marriages. I was rasied from the time I was 11 by my mom and her girlfriend. Just about 19 years later they are still together and happy. That's alot longer then alot of marriages nowadays.
I would give anything for them to be able to get married and have all of the same rights. Unfortunatly our state does not offer this yet... hopefully someday in the near future ALL states will allow this.
It wasnt that long ago that whites and blacks weren't allowed to marry. Now we all see how stupid that was. I'm sure someday we will look back at same sex marriages the same way. I hope anyway. |

I really don't know what to say except I know where you're coming from. My fiance lives on 90% Wavy Lays Potato Chips, M&Ms, and Coca Cola The other 10% of his food is when he actually eats what I cook for dinner which is usually pretty healthy. I've just learned to deal with it. He knows what he eats is HORRIBLE for him but he's an adult and has to make his own decisions. It is very very VERY frustrating though I know. |

I completly understand. I was doing sooo good on CC when I first started and I dropped 28 lbs. Over the last 2 months its been slowly creeping back on with all the stress lately about money and bills its like the last thing I want to worry about is counting my calories. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things though especially since I dont wanna gain back so much that I dont fit in my wedding dress in May lol |

1. Can you give me a little background information on you? Where you live, your gender, age, and anything else you'd like to add is welcome :)
2. What motivated you to begin calorie counting, and what is motivating (or not) you now?

Last Thanksgiving did you diet clean, indulge a little or go crazy? This Thanksgiving what are your intentions of eating? Where did you have Thanksgiving last year? Where will you have Thanksgiving this year? When will Thanksgiving dinner be served? About how many people will be present? If not home, will you be bringing food and what? If at home, how much of the meal are you responsible for? Whats your favorite Thanksgiving food? Taste preference: Turkey or Ham? Three favorite sides dishes in preference order? Best tasting Thanksgiving dessert? Most over-rated Thanksgiving food? Most under-rated Thanksgiving food? Will you be fine with high cal leftovers around? What will you be doing after eating Thanksgiving dinner? Allowing yourself a gain or not? |

| Weight Loss | I just don't get it - if it's so hard to eat 1200 cals, then why the weight problem? | Nov 12 2008 23:49 (UTC) |
8 |
I posted about this when I first started on here... yes I was/am overweight and yes once I started counting calories I found it very hard to get to my 1300 calories a day... the reason being is once I started on here I quit with the eating 2 fast food meals a day... scarfing on b-day cake at work... all of the crappy stuff. Granted I still splurge but nothing like I was before. Thats why its hard to get calories up for some people. I'm sure before I joined on here I was eating close to 3000 a day with all the fast food. But once you start eating healthy sometimes it can be harder to eat up all the calories your supposed to.. I know it took me a couple months to get the hang of it. |

I went to the KFC website first. The only thing they have is their individual sizes.. and I know they use less then that in their snack boxes (or else it wouldnt be only 1.99) I just added up the calories for the indiv. sizes and said I ate that much (even though i'm sure its prolly a few hundres calories over what I actually consumed) |

| Weight Loss | Can't get a grip. | Nov 05 2008 19:47 (UTC) |

I know how ya feel... I have gained back about 5 of the lbs I had lost since being on here. My major downfall has been in the evenings. I eat healthy all day.. I eat plenty of calories but in the evening during my kick back and relax time I have the urge to munch sooo bad. I have tried carrot sticks, plain popcorn, anythnig that isnt too horrible and nothing works.. it's like I'm not happy until I'm scarfing down candy or nachos. UGH.. i've been doing much better this last week since I keep telling myself I'm not hungry and only bored/stressed/upset you name it but its still very hard grrrrrrr |

| Foods | Diet Rite? | Aug 16 2008 17:25 (UTC) |

I am a diet rite addict myself. I work for a soda and beer distributer and thats how I started drinking it. I figured I'd pick up a case since it had no calories, no sodium, no caffeine, and no carbs... I LOVE IT... I dont think they make a bad flavor (the white grape is my fave I think) I tried going with zero soda the first month I was on here and personally I didnt notice a change.. but thats just me I know some people swear up and down they feel a big improvement. Just not me.. I think just a couple of sodas a day are fine... as long as your not ONLY drinking soda I wouldnt think it would be problem. |

| Weight Loss | Upset by experts idea of what my weight SHOULD be... | Aug 15 2008 04:38 (UTC) |

I completly understand where you're coming from.. I'm also 5ft tall and big boned. I havent been 115 since H.S. Granted I looked fine that skinny back when I was 15 but as we get older us women obviously get curves. I am completly fine with gettin my weight down to 125-130.. anyone that says anything else is dilusional. If I get smaller then that my rib cage sticks out and I look very odd... My only advice is to ignore the ones that say you should be 100lbs.. you know how you look good and obviously your Dr agrees with you. |

Ive always had this problem... when I was younger and thin I always thought I was too heavy... when I got to 175 lbs (I'm 5ft) I thought even worse of my self. I've so far lost 28lbs here on CC and I still feel like a moose. I would love to be able to learn how to get over my hang ups. People tell me I look fine... but I never belive them. *shrug* hopefully someday I'll get over this. Ugh |
