| Weight Loss | Losing too fast? | Aug 13 2008 20:32 (UTC) |

When I started CC on May 21 this year...I needed to loss 90 lbs...I'm down 45 now...half way there. I was worried I was losing too fast...but I never exercised and was eating over 3500-4000 calories daily. I dropped to 1750 cals for the first 2 weeks...then to 1600...then 1400...and now I keep between 1400 and 1200. I exercise daily...a quick walk or a good cardio and alterneting toning and circuit training from not even being able to do 15 minutes on the trreadmill at 3.0 mph...now I run at least 20 minutes daily!!! I think our bodies get shocked when we first start to treat it healthy...and we drop quickly...but I have kept changing things up from my calorie intake...and workout schedule and intesity and seem to be able to keep my body going on a steady weight loss of 4lbs a week...and feeling great!!! Don't worry...enjoy it and keep up the good work!!! |

I've been doing alot of leg toning exercises and walking to try to get rid of the thighs!! I find lunges are working and using the machines to help at the gym. I really like the idea with the exercise ball against the wall...I need to try that..!!! Yes the boobs disappear...YEAH!!! I was a double AA before the weight gain...up to a DD at my heaviest...down to a large B now...hoping to get back to an A or less...and it is true..they come back to life...less mass for gravity to take over I guess!!!

I started my new healthy lifestyle with the help of CC on May 21 2008....started at 252 lbs...5'10" tal..38 yrs old....gw 160....with my calorie intake, and exercise...I am down 38 lbs today!!! This is the longest I have ever stuck to a"program" to loose weight. I live by my plan...and eat what I want...but appreciate the empty calories and even if I treat myself....keep in my goal for the day. I also feel so great...best in years...I haven't been able to loose this much in my last 7 years of "fad diet" attempts. Only 54 more to go...but hope to be 200 or less by my birthday Sept 6...wish me luck!!! If I can do this....ANYONE can...everyone keep up the good work!!! |

Yep...these are all right...I found the same problem and tried to start eating really small meals every 2 huors and put my cals up by 200 daily...then changed my workout from cardio every day...and alternate weight...to trying circuit training insted for 4 days a week. It worked after 1 week and I blew a 4 month plateau!!!! Kept the higher cal intake for 2 more weeks and then dropped it back by the 200....and went back to "regular" meal intervals...and reg workout cardio/weights...with only 1 day of circuit training....every 4th week I jump up the cals and more, smaller meals and throw in the intense circuit training to 4 days and it seems to keep me from hitting a plateau...for now!!!! Keep up your good work...you've acheived soooo much don't let all that work be for not!!!! If you need a good circuit workout to start look on this site...that's where I started!!! Good luck!! |

| Fitness | Ladies, get off the machines!!! | Jul 19 2008 03:51 (UTC) |

I agree....I like to use free weights and circuit train at my gym...and the guys do look at you like you have horns sicking out of your head!!!! Most ladies stickto the machines with low weights and the eliptical or treadmill. I like to mix it up and do a different routine every day to keep my body "guessing" and the results are paying off!!! Free weights are easier to get just right and move your body into the exercise too. |

Just doing catch up on all the topics I've missed the past few days. Hope everyone is keeping on track....I've done well but had a awful craving for icecream a few days ago. So I decided to do it...3 small scoops of pistachio almond in a waffle cone.....640 cals!!!! Went walking for 90 minutes and burnt 1/3 off...then ate a super lite dinner and small snack and still kept in my goal cals!!!.But super hungry when I woke got up the next day....decided it's not worht it....so been sticking to the "plan" since then. I actually found 70 cal fudgesicle bars at the grocery store...this is much better for my ice cream and chocolate cravings...and not even a guilt maker!!! Anyone else found some "guilty pleasures" that are calorie reduced and convienitly portioned controlled!!!!???? |

Hi everyone.... Why did I decide to make the healthy lifestyle change? I am tired of feeling, well..tired all the time. I was beginning to have some minor health issues that are related to my weight, and finally just got fed up of looking in the mirror and not loving the outside as much as who I was inside. I had terrible eating habits and snacked and binge eating to the point I would almost make myself ill, I ate to be happy, and it made me fat that made me unhappy...it had to stop. Also I noticed my son was eating like me and he began to put on weight, and now that I have made the change...I notice he is following his mom's habits...this time in a much better and healthier way!!!! Since starting this change I feel great! I am so glad to be "doing" it!!! Everyone else...keep up the good work!! We'll get to our goals!!! |

Hi...my name is Tonya...and in week 3 of my healthy lifestyle change. Start weight...250 lbs current wieght...245 lbs goal weight....160 lbs....but will be happy just to get under the 200 lb mark for now!!! Target date...and this is based on using the program on this site...Jan 2010, but I hope to accelerate that a bit!!! I am 5'10" and 38 years old. I have been at this weight for over 3 years now and although I have lost 30 lbs at times....always gain it back twice as fast!!! Tired of "dieting" and decided to just follow a healthy, calorie based and balanced healthy lifestyle change, including exercise...something I haven't done for a while!!! Happy I found this group....looking forward to the support and sharing!!! |

I have the same thing with apples....they make me hungry again within 30 minutes....even when I know I shoudn't be. I started to try eating yogurt with it and sometimes just a tbsp of peanut butter to dip my apple slices in....I think it's the protien with the apple thatstops the hungry feeling from coming back...why??..don't know...just know that it works. I also drink a large glass of water with the apple/yogurt/or pb snack and that helps loads too. Maybe it will help you too!!! |

I resisted just about everything I would normally have eaten in my previous 3800 cal + diet a day!!! although I had 1 potato wedge....and took my time eating it to savour it....then the craving was gone! |
