Are you buying it from a private party? I don't know how it works in your state but here you fill out a portion of the title saying you sold the car and for how much, then you take it to the DOL and pay the taxes, so a lot of the time when people sell cars privately they lie  about the sale prices so you don't have to pay as much in taxes. My dad sold his friend a truck for 5 grand and put 500 bucks on the title hehe. Sooo if you don't mind bending the rules, you could try that. Like

No one really forces you to, if you decide not to they won't make you get up and do it after everyone else sits down or anything. I almost never said the pledge when I was in high school or I left out "under god". Even if I was talking and being disrespectful teachers never said anything.

Does anyone else have funny nick names for their animals? I have all sorts of names, besides his actual name that I call him. The weirdest one is Captain Poopy Pants ... lol ... my dog has a sensitive stomach and farts a lot. We've even shortened it to Pooper and Poops  Embarassed

Hahah I call my dog pooper :] She also has a very sensitive tummy, she gets the poops relatively often. Her name is Dakota but I call her Kota, Kotes, Kotaroo, Kotes Ma-gotes, Koteroonie, princess, princess puppers, princess puppypants, poopy butt, stinker, baby girl, loverdog...

Bunny! I'm so glad you're still stickin it out with school :] Your step dad sounds like a douche, and your mom is not being very nice... but the fact of the matter is that they won't help, and there isn't a ton you can do about it.  The best thing you can do is to stick it out with the bus and show em that you can do it! It's great practice controlling your anxiety. Definitely see if your hubby will take a few short rides with you on the bus to help you ease into it. He sounds very awesome and supportive, so I bet that wouldn't be too hard :]  I used to get stuck at school for hours waiting for my sister to get out of class, because even though she's 2 years older than me I had to drive her everywhere because she didn't have her license yet! Make good use of your free time by studying in the library or doing some reading :]  That's too bad that your school doesn't have any resources to help you with your anxiety :[ I hope everything works out!!

If I get them dirty, I rinse them. If they're REALLY dirty I'll use soap. I also don't wash my dishes very carefully.  And I don't use cleaning products in my house very often.  I just wipe stuff down with a damp cloth.

and I never get sick! Imagine that.  :]

Depending on the quality of the duct tape it may not have been too painful to remove, and unless she pressed it on real hard I doubt it would take off much skin. It hurts the worst pulling it off of a hairy area like the arms. Cheap duct tape isn't as sticky as you would think.

In Washington landlords are legally required to keep your security deposit in a special account, they can only take the interest.  They aren't allowed to touch the money until you end your lease and they can figure out what they need to take out for cleaning/repairs/etc and what to return.  Does your state have a law like that, and did she comply?

Hmmm, I don't know though.

Are we saying jackattack has big balls because she insults people over the internet, or because she literally has big balls?

If it's insulting people over the internet, I would think it would be the opposite of big balls because you're hiding behind a computer. If it's just that she has big balls, well...then she has big balls. I can't argue that.

Exactly. In my experience jackattack is just some rude little girl who likes to talk a lot of crap about people on the internet.

First, I am rarely ever around any of those people - at work and when I go out, I am with people in their 20s-40s.  None of my friends are pregnant or have little kids.  Why would I need to alienate myself?  If these folks are concerned about getting the swine flu then they should get the vaccine (or alienate) themselves.

H1N1 will hit those in the age range of 0-32 (plus pregnant women) the worst.  Please stay away from all your friends in their 20s if you plan not to get vaccinated.  Also, stay away from the grocery store, fast food joints and anywhere else teenagers/twentysomethings work.  Or just get the flu shot.

Or just go about your life as usual!

I'm not getting a flu shot. Why? Cuz I don't wanna. It's that simple!

The Lounge would you/or have you bought your wedding dress online. Oct 19 2009

it's really rude to try on dresses at a bridal shop to see what looks good on you and then go and buy your dress online. Stores like Nordstrom, Macys and J Crew sell wedding dresses, or even just white formal dresses that you could wear for a wedding dress. If you want to order things online those would be my suggestion because they will probably let you return them, unlike the chines ebay people. Or go to a davids bridal, they have some decent dresses for 100-200 dollars.

I have noooo problem leaving food on my plate. When I started dating my boyfriend he used to make dinner and give me the same portion as him and he'd seriously GET MAD AT ME if I didn't eat it all! And he wouldn't let me save it, apparently he didn't believe in leftovers. I whined enough so he got over it (eventually), and now two years later, he will occasionally eat leftovers.

The Lounge Don't celebrate christmas, and thanksgiving !! They are capitalist conspiracies to make you fat and ugly !! Oct 04 2009

Quite trying to blame your fatness and uglyness on capitalist conspiracies. You have no one to blame but yourself. No one is forced to gorge themselves at holiday gatherings, people make that choice themselves. Thanksgiving and Christmas DO have a point other than stuffing your face like a disgusting pig, so telling people to just not celebrate them is a little silly.

Obviously you know your husband, I'd say if you are thinking he's acting strange and being kind of shady, there's probably something that made you think that... not just like you are looking for some dramatic underlying meaning in everything he's saying... I dated a guy for over a year who seemed to have similar tendencies...  when you're upset about something he shows you how you just misinterpreted him and he wasn't actually mean, or he just turns it around and makes you feel sorry for him for some stupid thing and you forget what you were mad about in the first place.  I can definitely see how in your advil situation he's just trying to cover his butt.  especially from the part about how he was saving one for you... just sounds like he's trying to make up excuses.

The Lounge Can someone recommend a good moving company Oct 03 2009

I've read some news articles about some horrible moving companies... make sure you get the most accurate quote you can, sometimes they'll give you a rouch estimate based on how many rooms in your house or something really vague, and then after they load all of your stuff they give you the "real" price, which might be like twice as much, and then they hold your belongings hostage until you pay their outrageous fees.

I personally haven't, but with any company you haven't used before or aren't familiar with the certain line of business find as many reviews of the company as you can, get references, check them out with the BBB. Whatever you can! Ask what guarantees they offer... maybe check with your car insurance company to see if they have a recommended company or if you need any special coverage in case anything goes wrong.

The Lounge Marrying Military Oct 03 2009

My advice, from personal experience, wait until he is done with at LEAST his first deployment. They often have more than one, and/or they get dragged out longer than expected. A friend of mine did 2 tours of Iraq, almost a year long each time. Being in the military and being deployed typically puts huge strains on a relationship. Plus, you are so young! Right now it might seem like a good idea, but honestly I think you should just wait until he's done with his military obligations, and try out the normal civilian life with him. Often people change immensely just from 19 to 22, a typical marriage would be so hard at that age, adding the military factor just makes it even harder. My fiance was in a similar situation, he dated a girl for a few months and she was about to be deployed for the air force so they got married.... less then a year later they were divorced. Don't let his deployment rush you. You are 19, you have the REST OF YOUR LIFE to get married! Don't make such a huge commitment for the convenience of a military ID.

Just my advice, based on personal experience. In the end just make sure whatever you do is what you BOTH want and what will make you BOTH the happiest and what you think will be best for your futures, not just what works for the present...

How does stealing someone's dog fix the problem?  Chances are good, they'll get another one.  You gonna steal it too?

because if they are leaving it outside and ignoring it I'm betting there's a good chance they don't give a crap about it and don't want to bother taking care of it. They'll see the dog is gone and feel releived and say "Oh man I'm so glad that dog is gone! what a HASSLE!" and then they'll go on doing whatever they were doing while they were neglecting the poor thing.

Way to go schnood. I'm glad someone's lookin out for the poor doggies around there! I saw your other post about the poor crippled puppies :[ are they still breeding? It made me sad. But the puppies sounded cute... in a sad crippley way.

I hate scented lotion!!!!

My co-worker brought in one of those plug-in glade air fresheners because sometimes we get weird smells wafting in from our shop. Every time I walk past it I have to hold my  breath or else I feel like I'm going to vomit. It's right next to our little mail postaging area, so if  I have to postage mail (which I always do, because my co-worker will prepare 35 envelopes to go out yet never seals/puts postage on them) it gives me a headache. So I unplugged it and told her it made me feel gross. And she plugged it back in. So I unplugged it again. I can still smell it. If she plugs it back in I'm throwing it away.

We had an employee here last year.. she drove me nuts. Lady was over 30, and yeah we have a pretty relaxed dress code (ie none) but she'd come in wearing dirty old flip flops, short shorts and spaghetti strap tank tops, and she always had the same ratty dirty worn out old sweatshirt. We had to make up a dress code just because of her (and of course after she got the boot it no longer applied haha) She'd also talk to her kids on the phone all day and email her boyfriend all day. He stole her COMPANY CREDIT CARD to pay their phone and utility bills!

Working your chest will not burn fat on your chest. Your body burns fat from wherever it feels like, there's nothing you can do to change it.

Fitness Routine Question Sep 30 2009

as always, I suggest new rules of lifting for women. Sounds like you are doing more cardio than necessary. I suggest doing your weights first and then treadmill or stairmaster for 30 min after that. Look into HIIT, that's better than steady state cardio.  I always feel like if I can go longer than an hour at the gym then I'm not working hard enough. If your body conditioning class is easy enough that you can do cardio for another 45 min maybe you should find a new class, try and make that class more challenging, or just work out on your own.
