I really like to go for carrot sticks or carrot chips for snacking because they have a satisfying texture and they're full of vitamins Also, raspberries and blue berries are full of anti-oxidants and are sweet and tangy just like my favorite sweets so they're easy to transition to. The only down side is they dont have a very long shelf life. Try fruits and veggies in a variety of colors, because the colors can be indicitive of the nutrients they hold! Red Fruits and Vegetables Beets Contain nutrients such as lycopene, ellagic acid, Quercetin, and Hesperidin, to name a few. These nutrients reduce the risk of prostate cancer, lower blood pressure, reduce tumor growth and LDL cholesterol levels, scavenge harmful free-radicals, and support join tissue in arthritis cases. Orange and Yellow fruits and vegetables Apricots Contain beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, flavonoids, lycopene, potassium, and vitamin C. These nutrients reduce age-related macula degeneration and the risk of prostate cancer, lower LDL cholesterol and blood pressure, promote collagen formation and healthy joints, fight harmful free radicals, encourage alkaline balance, and work with magnesium and calcium to build healthy bones. Green vegetables and Fruit Artichokes Green vegetables contain chlorophyll, fiber, lutein, zeaxanthin, calcium, folate, vitamin C, calcium, and Beta-carotene. The nutrients found in these vegetables reduce cancer risks, lower blood pressure and LDL cholesterol levels, normalize digestion time, support retinal health and vision, fight harmful free-radicals, and boost immune system activity. Blue and purple fruits and vegetables Black currants Contain nutrients which include lutein, zeaxanthin, resveratrol, vitamin C, fiber, flavonoids, ellagic acid, and quercetin. Similar to the previous nutrients, these nutrients support retinal health, lower LDL cholesterol, boost immune system activity, support healthy digestion, improve calcium and other mineral absorption, fight inflammation, reduce tumor growth, act as an anticarcinogens in the digestive tract, and limit the activity of cancer cells. White fruits and vegetables Bananas Contain nutrients such as beta-glucans, EGCG, SDG, and lignans that provide powerful immune boosting activity. These nutrients also activate natural killer B and T cells, reduce the risk of colon, breast, and prostate cancers, and balance hormone levels, reducing the risk of hormone-related cancers. I didnt mean to flood your post but I hope this helps - Jessica

I just ordered the not-so-free sample of the "Acaiburn" supplement. I read all sorts of wonderful reviews online, but they were all flooded with advertisements and links to other Acai Berry products, so I'm not exactly sure how legitimate they are. I logged on to see if the reviews were true AFTER I placed my order, but on other posts the products were boo'd. I was not brave enough for the colon cleanse they offered me at check out though. I will keep you posted on my progress (if there is any) once i start my 30 day trial, if you'd like. Best of luck vrwh! Back to the crunches! - Jessica |

Now I feel like an idiot! I just ordered the not-so-free sample of the "Acaiburn" supplement. I read all sorts of wonderful reviews online, but they were all flooded with advertisements and links to other Acai Berry products. I logged on to see if the reviews were true AFTER I placed my order. Luckily I used a Visa gift card if they try to pull anything... They promised not to bill me until two weeks after the date of delivery so I can review it and see if it was worth the $4.95 shipping. Thank you guys for your posts. Back to the crunches! - Jessica |

eat a breakfast with whole grain and protein to keep you full longer i eat special k red berries with whole milk and 10 almonds for breakfast and the protein is great for appetite control. nuts, boiled eggs, protein bars, whole wheat crackers and yogurt are healthy protein-rich snacks that will keep your tummy from grumbling. also, if you choose to eat a bigger portion of healthy food, instead of a little bit of unhealthy food, you'll feel fuller. but eat slow. it takes us 20 minutes to realize we're full. let me know if i can be of any further assistance |

just an opinion but i think pointing it out to him isnt the best thing to do... "/ he could be totally humiliated by some stranger pointing something like that out, even if it is better that he know! like what if he starts skipping showers on purpose to get you back! i would go to the travel section of target and buy like 6 of the little baby sized deos & take 'em to the gym and ask guys if they want to try some free samples :] but maybe thats just me! i learned the hard way after i gave a girl a tooth brush and paste for her birthday in 7th grade, which resulted in a big argument, that sometimes you gotta be a litle descrete! |

| Young Calorie Counters | "guys dig curves" garbage | May 30 2008 03:06 (UTC) |

i think its mostly us girls who complain about our "curves". if we can't learn to appreciate what we have our men will stop trying to get us to notice our good *ass*ets! I've been with my boyfriend for 11 months and never once has he complained about my size, weight, or even my stretch marks. its guys like that who give us the boosts of self-esteem we need not to throw out every mirror in the house. do yourself the favor of getting the right guy to worship your curves ;] its the best thing for ya girl! -LiTE-BRiTE |

| Foods | I don't count calories in fruit | May 30 2008 02:46 (UTC) |

i thought the same thing until i looked at what i was doing! i didnt log my healthy foods, so my log was off, and i began justifying sneaking in high cal foods since my calories were so low.... after a little while i noticed i wasnt losing weight and i traced it back to my lack of logs! lol so log your fruit and veggies to keep you away from junk food and diet spoilers =]
happy dieting! -LiTE-BRiTE |

| Foods | Microwaving vegetables... | May 30 2008 02:35 (UTC) |

Any method of cooking vegetables, and especially things like green beans and peas lose some nutrients that drain out into the water, so if you're like most people and dont drink the veggie juice you do lose alot of the stuff you'd get by eating your produce fresh, but like I said, any way you cook it, nutrients are still going to be lost, but not to any harmful extent.... If you're worried about not getting your daily requirements take a multi-vitamin or drink v8 like me =] yummyyyyy
