Happy Weigh In Day! HW: 230 CW: 219.7 SGW: 200 LGW: 150 sg - short term goal, lg - long term goal I'm starting to feel a little better now that the medication's been in my system for almost a month, so hopefully this next week will include more calories. Although I do admit, I'll miss the dramatic drop off in weight that comes from only having water and soup Congratulations ladies! You're all doing tremendously! |

you know, i've never really considered whether the dosages were high or not because i haven't been able to talk to others on the medication. i have noticed that i'm exceptionally thirsty these days. and just for water. i can't stand anything else. i think i expected that, though, because it is a diuretic. where do you think the line falls between too much water, and just enough?
thanks singing_girl! |

wow! 40 pounds! congratulations! that's so wonderful. and i wasn't told anything about my eating habits, but they have changed dramatically. i never really took that into consideration, as odd as it sounds. i'll have to start plotting out my meals. thanks very much for the insight ladies. it is much appreciated :o) |

hey guys! i'm not sure if this thread is still open to new people. but if it is, i'd love to join. i'm 5'11" and currently 225 i have PCOS, and was put on some medication about two weeks ago, so i'm finally getting rewarded for all my hard work :o) in those two weeks, i've lost five pounds and hope to keep it going. current goal weight is 200, with a long term goal of 150-160 depending on what looks healthier for me. anyway. again, i hope i'm not interrupting a closed session. it's really lovely to see so many tall ladies out there. i'm surrounded by cute little petite things who get eyes wide as saucers when they hear how much i weight. not the most positive reaction to receive when one wants to feel good about oneself. :o) |

from the sounds of it, your body isn't used to having as many nutrients as you're currently providing. most likely, as you've begun to increase your caloric intake, your body's metabolism is waking back up. you have to imagine a machine that's forced itself to run on very very little fuel for a long time. it is slow and achy, shutting down excess jobs to conserve energy, and is overall less productive than it could be. once you start adding in more fuel, it starts to perk back up, rejuvinated. it starts revving itself up and starts the other jobs that have been put to rest. suddenly, you're burning through much more energy than you had before. the initial result, not uncommonly, is weight loss. i know that given your circumstances, it's not what you're looking for. and i know how hard it is to get those around you to believe that you really are trying. but explain your situation to your trainer and promise him/her that you are, indeed, eating more. try not to push yourself quite as hard at the gym for a little while, and maintain your eating. eventually your body will get used to the level of intake and exercise you're giving it and all will balance out. don't give up. i'm really excited to hear that some people are actively finding their health again :o) |

lonestar's right, it's all water retention. my girlfriend notices the same thing everytime she's had a night out drinking. it always freaks her out a little bit, but it goes away by the next morning usually, sometimes it takes two days to balance back out. curiously enough, i always lose about 4 pounds after drinking. now if only those pounds stayed off every time. i think we'd be on to a new, fantastic diet ;o) |

How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
