I am prone to eating out of boredom too and I have just had a REALLY bad day! I usually relieve the boredom with exercise in the morning, but I was exhausted today and not feeling good so I didn't go to the gym :( Then I was too tired to go to the shop and stock up on the sugar free gum I normally chew instead of eating so I munched through a load of cheese and crackers instead. Now I have realised that I've consumed an extra 500 calories today while burning nothing significant at all. So I have resolved to keep myself extra busy tomorrow - and forgive myself for being human! |

A friend of mine makes a batch up every few days and stores it in the fridge in a large bottle then decants it as she needs it - it will keep for about 3 days so you only need to make it a couple of times per week. I'm lucky I can make mine fresh each morning, but it really does work for me so I think its worth it! |

Have you tried a smoothie? I make one using 140g mixed frozen berries, half a banana, 1 tbsp low fat natural yoghurt and 200ml apple juice before I go to the gym. Tastes great and seems to give me more energy than anything else - I've tried cereals, banana, beans on toast and none are as good as my smoothie |

I resisted getting scales for ages too, but gave in this week, am measuring liquids too - I felt awful, like I am a total failure!! BUT I have been pleasantly surprised at times - I always imagined a 2oz portion of pasta would be TINY, but it wasn't (once it was cooked anyway). I weighed out 100g french fries on Wednesday and there were plenty AND my 175ml wine (which is as close to deprivation as I have come this week) was much more than I thought it would be too. So don't think of it as being defeated, just think of all the pleasant surprises you could get :)) |
