I agree, you should add beans for sure, and you can also add red peppers and corn which will add some color and make it look nice and taste sweet. Enjoy! |

| Fitness | I am not sweating very much during cardio! | Dec 09 2008 17:53 (UTC) |

Also, you may not be drinking as much water as you used to. I find that when I drink less water through the day, I barely sweat when I work out, even if I am working out at the same intensity. So not sweating is really your bodys way of telling you that you arent hydrated enough to be working out at that level. So make sure that you drink water throughout the day and also during your workout. |

Thanks for all of the great ideas. It's nice to hear that some of you are having the same issues that I am. It's true that when you look at yourself every day, its hard to see tiny little differences. It's frustrating to eat well and work out 4-5 days a week and not see differences, but I am going to take your advice and measure myself. I think that will be more satisfying/easy to see the little differences. I guess the moral is to just stick with it and hopefully changes will come. I'll keep on truckin'! |

Danielle, thanks so much for all of your helpful advice! I'm actually going on a Royal Caribbean cruise, but they are very similar to Celebrity, so it should be fairly easy to get the healthier options. The only issue is that I am a vegetarian, so often the healthy options are fish or chicken. But I think it will be easy enough to make the right decisions...if my will power can take it, that is. Thanks again! |

Hi Girls, I'm ready to join too! I've been on my weight loss journey for a little over a month, and it has been going alright so far. I'm 21, 5'9.5", and I just graduated college, so I'm ready to whip myself into shape for the next stage in my life. When I started, I was 183 (my heaviest ever!). I'm down about 7lbs so far, but over all, I'd like to lose 28lbs, leaving me at 155. I think this weight should be good for me, since I have a rather large frame (huge ribcage!). It's been difficult for me because when I count my calories, I'm always on (okay, maybe I go over by 50 calories or so), but for the most part, I'm good. But then when I go on vacation I say I'm going to be good, but of course I don't do as well as I would like. So my next issue is on Saturday, I'm going on a cruise for almost 3 weeks. I'm in Italy for 5 days before (Italy = pasta, pizza, calzones, gelato), but then after that, the ship has a gym so I should be okay. I am pretty busy while onboard because I am a group leader, so sometimes I don't have the time or energy to work out. Since it is a group, they are very social, which means a lot of drinking. I know how to choose the low calorie drinks (martinis, vodka soda, etc.), but its just the matter of quantity. Okay, sorry I've been rambling, but I think this group will help because whenever I want to indulge myself, I think I'll be able to control myself...I hope. Alright, I'm off use the elliptical! |

I'm 21, 5'9.5", 175 lbs waist: 33 hips: 44.5 Thighs: 27 Wow, I'm really large compared to everyone who has posted here. Of course I'd like to lose, but I don't think its physically possible for my thighs to get that small...its unfortunately in my genes. |

Lets be realistic here...I have the exact same problem that you do. What I do (and it does take some will power) is I eat a Lean Cuisine pizza! I know when you get home, you want something good and warm like pizza, burritos, chicken, etc., so if your friends order a pizza, you can eat your pizza right along with them, and you wont feel left out at all. And you'll feel soooo much better the next day because its only like 350 calories or so (verses many many more in take-out food). Also in regards to the drinking, again, I have the same issue. Its totally not realistic to say "stop drinking" or even "drink much less". Rather, like others have suggested, drink lower calorie things. I know that wine is not practical at bars, so for instance, a Vodka Soda only has the calories from the vodka. Squeeze a little lime in, and its delish! I hope this helps! |

That's so true. I'm sure every single one of use trying to diet has binged. I know I have many many times. I know it's frustrating because you feel like you're working so hard and nothing is happening, and you feel like giving up. The dieter's version of giving up is binging. What you have to do is just calm down, regroup, and realize that tomorrow is a new day. Whenever I get frustrated with dieting, I think that to myself. Try saying it out loud a few times. "Tomorrow is a new day". I hope this helps you! |

| Foods | Spaghetti Squash?? | May 28 2008 22:22 (UTC) |

For my spaghetti squash, its extremely simple. Instead of adding anything to it such as sauce, I just sprinkle some garlic salt on top. You dont need any butter or anything because it is already moist, and that way, you don't add any calories to it at all. Enjoy! |
