Computer games work for me as well. I doubt it's really a very healthy alternative, but I could play a game all day and not once think about eating.

I also find that knitting is a strangely addictive hobby that is very time consuming, but also demands constant focus; thus, boredom eating is curbed.

I understand, and I sympathize!

I think that you're the type of person whose family and friends influence what you eat. I'm similar to some extent. If your parents really are forcing you to eat things that you don't want to, you can surely reason with them. Perhaps you should ask them to join you in your efforts.

It is also finals week for me, and I fought off my inevitable enemy today: cookies.

I normally buy a cookie after I eat lunch every day; however, remembering that sugar intake on the day of a big test can hinder your brain power, I finally disciplined myself to do without that bit of extra sugar.

A little self-discipline can go a long way!
