Just a caution about fenugreek: I took it with my son and he had horrible diarrhea during and for a week after I stopped taking the pills. He ended up getting the worst diaper rash ever which took about a month to clear up. Oh, and fenugreek can cause smelly gas for the mom too! However, my friend took fenugreek and she and her daughter had none of the unpleasant side-effects. Good luck!

My OB was fine with me just taking a pre-natal vitamin and eating a well-balanced diet when pregnant. I think a lot of cereals are fortified with folic acid though. But since you asked about fruits with folic acid, strawberries are a good source. One serving (8 medium sized strawberries) has 20% RDA of folic acid. http://www.bouquetoffruits.com/fruit-facts/st rawberry-facts.html Good luck with your pregnancy! |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Who here used clomid? | Jul 02 2008 17:39 (UTC) |

I am currently on my second cycle of Clomid. My lab work is always normal, but I don't ovulate. I already have a 20 month old little boy and hope to give him a brother or sister soon! He was conceived on Clomid, but that took 8 LONG months (though just 6 cycles since mine were longer). DH absolutely refused to do a SA. (He thought it would be too embarrassing.) The Dr. told me if that 6th cycle didn't work, I would need an HSG. I told DH that if this last cycle didn't work, he WILL be doing a SA. period. I guess that was the encouragement he needed, because that month I got pregnant! Most of the people I know who've taken Clomid only had singletons, except for one with twins. So good luck to you. I hope we both get pregnant soon! |

I really feel for you. I went to all my Dr. appointments alone (which actually didn't bother me for some reason, the office was right by my work) though he did go to my ultrasound appointment. My husband was pretty great with me through my pregnancy until I was in labor and we went to the hospital. I think he went into shock or something, because he did NOTHING to help me through the delivery. He pretty much stared off into space the whole time. Later, he said after holding our sweet little boy for a few hours that he realized I wasn't dying and everything was okay -- poor guy! I was pretty mad at him for a while for not being supportive, but am pretty much over that now. I guess he just felt helpless and didn't know what to do. My husband wouldn't change diapers either. He said he was afraid he would do it wrong and I'd be mad at him...whatever. He would also throw up with the stinky ones until my cousin told him to rip the corners off the diaper wipe and shove them up his nose. That actually helps him I'm sorry your guy isn't being as supportive as you want. I do have a suggestion for you: meet some mommies-to-be or other moms that you can talk to. Women really need each other for emotional support and sometimes guys just can't give that. My husband can tell I'm a lot happier after I've spent time with my girlfriends. I wish you the best and hope your husband comes around soon.
