Good Morning Everyone!!! :) I can tell that hte support from this group is going to be AWESOME, so I am WAY EXCITED!!!!!!!!! Ms. Jayne, you can have Leonard, b/c I have a really bad crush on Andrew Zimmern (yes, the Bizarre Foods guy).. I don't know what it is about that man, but he DRIVES ME WILD!!!! I do have a great bf (who is incredibly supportive and going to hop on sobe w/ me once I am on Phase II), but my bf would be in trouble if i ever ran into Andrew... This morning I stepped on the scaled and was at 198, already down 2 lbs! SCORE! Today's BIG CHALLENGE will be the "Barbecue Lunch" that they are throwing at my work for the 4th- the only thing on the menu I can eat is the burger meat, literally! I came prepared though, bringing some salad and a sugar free pudding! The key to the first phase is just plowing through it to kill those cravings and jump start the weight loss! Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day! Casey |

Thanks for the welcome everyone! :) So far I am off on a strong start. Today is Dya #2 of South Beach Phase I for me.. today shouldn't be too hard, but tomorrow is going to be tough because I am not going to be feeling too great since my body will be detoxing heavily from not having carbs. So I am on my way to looking and feeling fabulous! How is everyone else doing?

Helloooooooo everyone! :) My name is Casey, i'm 6'1", and I am pretty anxious to get off all of that stubborn fat as well! Looking to lose about 30 lbs. Get the same bit all the time, that I "look fine" and don't need to lose weight, but I am not 100% happy with my weight where it is at, and want to look and feel healthier. My big obstacle is binge eating! I can do great for 2-3 days, and then in one sitting i'll consume like 3,000 cals. =/ I'm going to really try to stay strong this time though, every time I put something in my mouth that is not planned i'm going to ask myself whether or not it is worth it to eat it and take myself farther away from my goal of looking fabulous in my bathing suit! Looking forward to making some friends so that I can be accountable to other people besides myself! Casey |

Happy Monday Everyone!!! =o) (My work has switched over to a three day weekend, so Mondays have become significantly less stressful for me!) I am a tall girl, 6'1", and I have always had issues w/ keeping myself at a healthy weight. To condense my recent weight loss efforts, last year I managed to get down to 189, which was AMAZING, but unfortunately I have inched my way back up to 202! I am sooooooooooo anxious to get myself back under the big 2 marker!!! I read through this entire board, and you all seem like a bunch of lovely ladies, so I would love to join in and help/receive help with motivation!!! My big goal for this week is to eat significantly less junk and try to stick with mostly proteins, fruits and veges. Also, I am making sure that I am drinking plenty of water and green tea! For exercise I am walking around a lake that we have here at my work- about 1.5 miles a day! Well I hope that everyone's weeks are off to a great start!!!! Casey |

I think I won the "Who Blew It Contest!"
-About 20 tortilla chips with a sour cream based store bough guacamole dip -A slab of ribs -A cheeseburger -Two helpings of potato salad -Two helpings of onion pie (corn bread crust w/ sourcream and cream cheese/onion filling) -Baked beans -Green bean caserole -Two brownies -A heaping slice of chocolate fudge pie -About three big vodka based drinks I could probably think of more that I ate, but i'm going to stop myself there! I really enjoyed everything though, and I stopped the next day and got back on the ball! :) |

Yay!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad to see there is so much interest in the Couch to 5k! I have started the program several times and never followed through, but this time is it, and i'm going to do it! spring_violet: That's awesomet hat you have it downloaded on Podrunner- I say WAY TO GO with starting on Friday, you are absolutely right that putting it off will always cause the inevitable delay in starting at all. I actually love to work out on Friday before I do anything in the evening, because it reminds me that I am working hard to lose the weight I want to lose and not to overdo it going out and eating! Looking forward to hearing how it goes! gettinghealthy123: Yay! Running is seriously an awesome exercise. :) Here's my thought on your alternating jogging and walking- if you are in good shape it is probably a great idea to do. I believe teh reason they do it walking/running is because most people aren't in the cardiovascular shape that they need to be in the beginning. Definitely do the 5 minute warm up walk and then give the jogging/running a shot- if it's too much I think you can assume that you need to do more of the walking then running because you need to get yourself back to the cardiovascular shape you use to be in! Thank YOU for "running" right along with me! I am really excited, and I promised myself I would go ALL THE WAY this time!!! emma_lizardbreath: Awesome on being in Week 2!!! I can't wait to start on Week 2 on Tuesday. I myself have never been able to run to save my life, so I"m really looking forward to getting myself there 100%
On that note I am so excited that we are all doing this together, and I know that WE CAN DO IT! Let me know how your next workouts go- myself, I did my second workout on Week 1 yesterday, and it went really well. :) On Saturday I am doing my third workout! |

Weddingmama- That is AWESOME!!!!! :) Congratulations!!!! I am signed up for a half-marathon in February of next year, or 13 miles, and so i've got a long way to go before I reach my ultimate goal. I found that my first jog was pretty tough, leaving me slightly sore, but i'm looking forwards to seeing if the second one is any easier today!!! Well keep it up, and how awesome to know you'll be running all the way to the finish line! |
