Weight Loss gaah. i feel over it... Jan 14 2008

Nah, don't let it get ya down, could be due to a number of things. Weight fluctuates A LOT, for some people even up to 10 pounds a day Surprised Drink lots of water for the next couple days keep the salt low, and weigh yourself again, bet you haven't really gained anything at all!

Welcome to CC! My favorite place to kill time lol. Congrats on quitting, I really need to, how did you do it? I was thinking about hypnosis, or just gradually cutting down and down and down, (that's how my mom did it about 10 years ago) Anyhoo... welcome to the site and good luck to you!

It's happened to me before too, same thing when I eat raw carrots as well. I used to eat granny smith's which would make my tummy hurt, but now I eat gala, fuji, braeburn, and one other kind, I can't think of the name, but none of those seem to upset my stomach.

I know what you mean about getting used to it. To give myself a bit more of a workout sometimes i use my arms to push forward as hard as I can and put all of my effort into pushing (like I'm leaning forward) Or I do the opposite and pull back as hard as I can, leaning back, and you can also really get going with bigger strides, like you're running (can be dangerous haha) but that always works up a sweat for me. Then again, I only do light activity anyway. There are other workouts, but I never watched my dvd lol and I can't think of them off the top of my head, but I'm sure if you google it, lots of stuff will come up Smile

I have one, I love it. Really easy to use, quiet, and folds right up easy to go in a closet or under a bed. I also love the features with calories burned, time, and speed, it's cool!

I weigh myself every other day and not at all on the weekends. Don't really have a reason why, just kinda how it works out. Smile So that would be Mon, Wed, & Fri.

I do see lots of fluxuations, but it doesn't bother me one bit, thanks to this site and now being so knowledgeable about how this all works.

I kinda like the zig-zaggy marks on my weight log lol

Yes, like if I carried a 50 pound weight in each hand while working out (not that I could lol) I would burn way more calories than if not.

Actually I just got a subscription to it, because they give you 2 months free (you don't pay anything up front) and if you don't like it, all you have to do is send the bill back to them with cancel written on the front. I haven't got my first mag yet, but I have one from the store, that I LOVE and that's why I got the subscription.

Welcome to CC! This is a great site, I don't know what I'd do without it. I have semi-similar goals to yours, I'm at 149 pounds and my goal weight is 125, but I might just see how it goes and stop before that. I LOVE cooking, especially finding recipes that are healthy AND tasty & feeding them to my unknowing family ... muahahahahah! It's taken a while but I've gotten the whole family to hop on the wagon with me, and now we all lead a much healthier lifestyle. Well, welcome again & enjoy, this is such an awesome site!

Brunettes do it best ;)

I'm definitely a fan of dark hair (obviously)  I think it makes everything POP on your face!  Your eyes stand out more (no matter what color) and it makes your smile look brighter!
(This advice coming from a girl who has has black, light, medium and dark brown, blonde AND red hair...probably some combos of all of the above too =)
Good luck!

I have to agree ^^^ 100% ... That's basically what I was going to post lol

I was forever trying to get my hair lighter everytime I colored it (with naturally dark dark brown hair) For halloween one year I colored it black to go with my costume and I couldn't believe how good it looked, and that I hadn't thought to go dark earlier!! My eyes looked amazing, they are blue, but they never looked as blue as they do with the dark hair, and smile too... sooo much better I love dark hair!!

Definitely.  I no longer eat Hot Pockets, so they no longer eat them.  They get the same salads before dinner that I have and we eat more or less the same portions of the same foods.  They both look trim, fit and full of energy, but not hyper and unfocused.

They like healthy foods pretty much, anyway...

Exactly... I think it's great that everyone has not only helped themselves, but also helped with healthier choices for their loved ones!

I think it's fun too. I treat it like a game actually. Only like my parents think it's really weird when I'm pouring cereal into a measuring cup. Or if I pour ketchup into a table spoon and then write down the calories.

lol yeah it does seem kinda funny, but better than eye-balling it, although I have gotten good at a couple foods that I eat very often, I know exactly how much it looks like, so I don't have to measure lol

Foods After Dinner Snack Nov 27 2007

I always have a cup of coffee after dinner with milk and sugar, and then usually later on a small snack, like a small bowl of cereal with milk or an oatmeal cookie. Smile If I'm feeling up to it, it's always fun to find a healthy dessert recipe to try out too!

Wow! That is great! My daughter feels the same way, being proud of herself, her school also does the "commit to be fit" program, it's really neat, they gave out agenda books and necklaces to wear to remind them to make healthy choices, so it's also something she can be proud of for school too.

Foods Coffee "filter" vs coffee "black" Nov 20 2007

I always use the coffee - filter, because it acutally has the *good points* and a nutritional breakdown. Where as the coffee black, has no data at all. I don't really know why they are different in cals, I personally think the coffee filter is more accurate though. Hope this helps! Laughing
