| It will be fine and as far as when to work out it depends on what you read..some say evening some say morning....I say as long as you get your workout in you are fine. During the week I do mine in the evening and sometimes late evening. The only effect I see that it has is the fact I can't go to bed on time because I am too hyped up..lol.. | |||

| My advice....I am the mother/step-mother of six boys...and when hubby and I moved in together....I was like you cooking a meal for them and a meal for us..wow!!! He grew up in a large family also and he said you cook one meal and they eat it...Guess what my kids are to the point (six years later) they eat anything and everything. Yes I have had them turn up their noses..don't get me wrong...but it is amazing what they eat. It made like a lot simpler that is for sure....
We too have an autistic child and the only problem he has with food is that nothing can touch..so like mashed potatos and gravy have to be seperated but we deal with it. Good luck and remember sometimes we have to put ourselves first...They won't starve I promise you that and they will learn to like many things. |

| Motivation | question - i need an accurate scale! | Apr 23 2007 01:52 (UTC) |

| I have two weight watchers scales...(loaned one out and didn't get it back so went and bought a new one of of course got the first one back). I can weigh myself on one in my bedroom and walk into my bathroom and that one says the same thing. Remember if you want a real accurate one you are going to have to spend big bucks. I rely on mine more for motivation!! Also I measure myself once or twice a month and that is bigger for me then weighing myself!!
Good luck. |

| I love it...rather expensive...I don't drink it every day. Notice on the can that it says people of normal weight can burn certain amt of calories per day.
Also note that many people believe drinking a certain amount of green tea a day helps promote weight loss and that is what it is. I don't dwell on it. If I make it to a Wal-mart were I can buy a six pack and it takes me two weeks to drink it then so be it. I just simply like that taste. |

| I eat Simply Jiff. I love it and I don't like a load of pb on my toast or bread....so if I use a tablespoon and a half that is enough for me. I bought some Natural stuff but haven't used it yet...So far I have stuck with my Jiff.. | |||
| Weight Loss | How can this be?!! | Apr 12 2007 19:02 (UTC) |

| More than likely it was water weight. If you are just ending your time of the month that may happen also. I tend to be the opposite of most and I loose throughout my period and then the day or two after I loose a pd or two. It also helps if you keep your sodium level down especially during that time. Don't be alarmed if the scales go back up..remember how your clothes fit!!! | |||
| The Lounge | Where did you go to College? | Apr 11 2007 23:38 (UTC) |

| I say stick with it. I am 30 years old and have some college behind me. I was accepted into a major college upon graduating high school and decided to get married and have babies. Now almost 12 years later, (a divorce, another child, and four step-children) (yes that makes six boys total I raise..lol) I would do anything to go back to 12 years ago and start over. I have the same problem. I go for awhile and can't seem to figure out what I want to do. Well now I have figured it out and just simply don't have the time. I would do anything to go to college!! So just hang in there..It will get better. Besides my kids I would do anything to be in your shoes. I am a teachers aid and do almost as much as the teachers do and I bring home way less money because I don't have a degree...Hang in there and best of luck... | |||

| LOVE MINE!!! I purchased one back in February and I am now up to where I can do 30 mins or more at a time..It took me time too. Trust me. At first I would go like 5 mins then get off and go another etc...I have found out if I use my exercise ball and do my sit-ups and things like that first it eases the workout on the elliptical...I still like to go for walks on nice days and sometimes I walk then do the elliptical or switch it around... | |||

| Best compliment I have received...It was from Hubby last weekend and just out of the blue over the breakfast table he told me "I'm very proud of you"...
Another one of course from hubby was when we first moved into our home 6 years ago..We put everything away and were standing in the kitchen and he said "This is the first home that has felt like home since I left "home" Mind you he was married for 10 years before me...and he was referring to his parents home that he hadn't lived in for almost 12 years!!! |

| I love LC meals...They are my fav. I make a trip to Super Walmart once a month to stock up on them and eat one for lunch almost on a daily basis. Yes they are my crutch but the have helped me.
I eat a fairly large salad with the LC meal. I think they are wonderful. |

| Weight Loss | Junk around the house | Apr 01 2007 15:59 (UTC) |

| I have six boys in the house and they are allowed 1 treat a day. So "their" cabinet has a variety of Little Debbie Snacks. It is in a cabinet that I don't get into our I don't go near. In our big pantry where I get into all the time on the top shelf is everything I can have. Choc. PB rice cakes, choc PB protein bars, and numerous other healthy snacks. On occasion I buy 100 calorie snack packs. I can have 1 of them a day but for some reason here lately I only get one if I need to meet my calories for the day. I did this last year too (joined calorie count) lost 20lbs then over the winter it crept back up on me. For some reason this time it is different for me!!! If I can do it any one can do it...Now you may want to post this question again after there are six Easter Baskets sitting on my table next Sunday...lol..however I have limited the candy they will be getting in them this year....I try to buy things I won't eat and they love like sour candy and gum that I won't chew...I only like sugar free gum...So that helps...
Good luck I have been there trust me. It is willpower...I don't know what else it can be.... |

| Wow we can celebrate together. I hit just below the 200 mark this morning also..Isn't it a great feeling. You have came a long way.
On average it should be around 8lbs a month..(2lbs per week) so if you loose 8 in April and 8 in May I would say yes it is a doable goal. But don't get too upset if you come close but don't meet it. I have been on a plateau for 2 weeks now!!! It seems to be you are focused on the way you clothes fit which is better then a scale in my opinion. I haven't budged on the scale until this morning but my clothes started to fall off so I didn't get to upset. Good luck and congrads!!! No more using the excuses to our hubbies are there being more of us to love..Now there is less of us but in the end so much more!!! |

| Star, I love the locket idea!! That is awesome. I am thinking about doing that. Taking a pic of me at my heavest and putting it in there and with each goal I hit taking another pic and putting it on the other side to remind me of the difference!!
Floating on air is good also!!!! |

| OMG you are soo amazing!!! I looked at your pictures and what a difference!! This is living proof it can be done.
Here are some things I want to do when I reach a certain goal. I have always wanted to get a hotel room with a hot tub and actually be able to sit in the hot tub and have hubby and I both fit...One night..not for sure what the costs will be but hey I figure I am worth it. (trust me we live on a very tight budget.) When I reached my last goal I got a tattoo to represent my new life..only thing is it is on my back and I won't show anyone until I reach my final goal and then I will be proud to show it off. So right now I won't because of back blubber..so that keeps me motivated. If you are into jewelry maybe a new ring or something..something to represent how far you have come or maybe even a new wardrobe... Good luck and thanks for the motivation!!! |

| Great news!!! Way to go!!!!
I agree I would rather go the alternative route instead of medicating unless you HAVE too....It is hard to find Dr.'s that agree with that. I am lucky my family has one!! I thought my thyroid was acting up and he sent me in for blood test and told me if something came back that we didn't want to see he would let me try it my way first (herbal). Everything came back normal but I was glad he had given me that option. Go to the health food store and get a good brand of garlic pills. To counter-effect the odor garlic gives off alfalfa is good for that and it helps with other things too. Sooo exciting a new baby on the way. Here's to great health and a wonderful family!!! |

| Health & Support | should a woman with small breasts weigh less? | Mar 25 2007 15:40 (UTC) |
6 |
| I have indeed weighed mine!! I placed the scale on top of the washing machine flopped them on there and was shocked. I am a DDD on the verge of higher size but can't remember what a bra fitting gal told me over the summer..all's I know is they didn't have the letter I needed in stock!!! Mine weighed 13 lbs!!!! I was shocked. Not for sure how accurate that weight is but I can't figure out how else to weigh them.....So yes unless they start deflating with diet and excercise I will always be 13 lbs less then what the scale says that is my motivation!!! So right now I keep bouncing between 200-203 but in reality I am 190-193!!!! Now that is one way to look at it!!!..lol | |||
| Health & Support | Severe issues with bra measurements | Mar 25 2007 15:37 (UTC) |

| Wow how rude of her!!!
I took the plunge last year. I had lost around 20 lbs and decided to go into a Lane Bryant to get fitted. However the lady measuring me was somewhat nice. She told me I needed a (E F or G Darn can't remember now) but they had one DDD in stock and I tried it on and it felt great. So I ordered two more and had them shipped to my door since this place is almost an hr away from me. Well long and behold I have almost $100.00 worth of bras in my drawer that after a couple of hrs of wearing them I have 4 boobs!! Yes I come out of the top!! I was devastated!!! I have found that JC Penneys carries a bra and can't remember the brand of it that they had one sale and I bought two and I love them. Otherwise I buy Playtex 18 hr the plain jane ones with support...I can only buy the particular model that I buy or I flop out the top. Good luck and you aren't the only one. Everyone keeps telling me when I loose weight they will slim down too. Well let me tell you when I was in 2nd grade my teacher came and told my mom I need to start wearing a bra and I was of average size back then. When we went shopping I skipped over the trainers and into a C cup even back then. I honestly think I was born with a B and they just grew from there and they aren't going anywhere no matter what I do!!!...lol |

| Fitness | Treadmill Recommendations? | Mar 24 2007 14:04 (UTC) |

| Do not and I repeat do NOT buy a StarTrac treadmill. My friend and I bought the same one 2 weeks a part at a local Walmart Store two years ago. Loved it was very sturdy for its price had an incline did everything we needed it to. We both prefer to walk outside but during the winter and on rainy days we both used ours faithfully. Over a month ago my friends stopped by and we were talking...My treadmill started acting up, and she said I am so glad you mentioned that..mine caught on fire today...Next day guess what..mine caught on fire!!! They had a recall on the newer model then ours but not on ours. We emailed the company sent pictures and we NEVER received a response...Money down the drain and I miss it sooo!!!! I have noticed that particular brand is getting harder to find and I can't seem to find it on Walmart website. So I think they are getting rid of that company too. I have learned if I am in the market to buy something I visit Amazon.com type in what I am looking for and they have reviews from actual people who have purchased the items. Also Eopinions is a great site too!! Good luck...I loved mine it gave me a no excuse life!!! This year I got an elliptical. Figured I had enough bad luck with the treadmill!! | |||
| Health & Support | Sleepless Nights...Literally! | Mar 24 2007 13:59 (UTC) |
|
| If you are stressed go to a local health food store and pick up some B-complex...Please don't go to Walmart or any place like that you need a good brand. Try that. I take it throughout the day and at night if I know I am wired I take 2-3 and it calms me down enough to let me sleep. | |||
