Hi everyone! Wow! There were a lot of posts while I was gone! I had too many things to catch up on this weekend. I can't seem to stay ahead of everything during the week. In fact I didn't even get totally caught up and am trying to figure out how to add what's left from last week to this week.......... We didn't have too many trick or treaters, either. We did take the girls out and that was fun. Our neighborhood is small so there's not too much candy! My husband knows to hide all the candy as soon as it's over so I can't get to it! Of course the kids have already shown me where it is so I'm betting the Wednesday weigh in won't be nice to me. I did read up on everyone's life but can't comment on too much. Bermuda does sound like a wonderful middle ground for a meeting, though! Have a great day everyone! I'll try to get here more. Betsy |

Hi everyone! It has thawed out a little here, hopefully warmer tomorrow. Today I went up about 1/2 pound on the scale but I had pizza for dinner last night so I'm blaming teh salt in that! suzen-glad you're losing again! It's a great feeling. Keep up the long walks, they'll help a lot. Sounds like a big decision to make but at least you can decide what you feel will be best for you. lucy-hope you're feeling better! Did you figure out where to put your treadmill? Maybe in the middle of the living room wouldn't be too bad, you couldn't avoid it there! aly-a pound isn't bad! You'll get back to where you were soon, I'm sure. momo-glad your weight came down some, must have been water. Good luck with the car shopping! janet-great news! I'm so glad you got such a wonderful diagnosis! tru-i think they put sugar in everything now! Keep trying with the recipes, you'll figure it out. My friend couldn't eat wheat and it took her a few tries to come up with alternatives to that but she eventually did it. Gotta go, the girls are at my mom's (which is really in our house, just through a door) eating lunch and I'm sure there's a mess for me to clean up! Have a great day! Betsy |

Good morning everyone! Weigh in Wednesday-I'm at 137.6! Lowest sicne I've started! Still a ways to go but I'm really happy that I lost anything this week. We had lots of snow yesterday! It was really heavy and wet but the girls and my younger son went out to play for a while. I think it was probably the first time my younger daughter saw snow! It is very cold here, too, but should warm up a little by the weekend. My period's been getting strange a little, too. More painful and closer together but less in amount and time! I'd better go, I got up late and need to get everyone started on their day so we can finish all our work! I've been taking a few too many days off (out of necessity) and have decided to get back on track both weightwise and school work wise this week! It helps that we have a field trip to the farm, handbell class and a birthday party on Friday so that'll be a totally fun day! Betsy |

Hi everyone! Busy weekend's over so I'll have to start buckling down and get back to work on my weight now. I think most of the festivities are over until Thanksgiving so I'm planning on making some improvement between now and then! We have three birthdays in October and also other things going on so I didn't do very well this month. Not gaining but just not working at losing (or losing for that matter!). Lucy-glad you had a good walk and earned so much for a good cause! Glad the pain is better, too. Sounds like a good visit with your great great nephew. You're lucky to have such a large family. Aly-WOW! That's a lot of leaves! Hope your rake elbow is better. I don't think Mikayla understands what's going on with all the doctor's visits. Hopefully she won't mind the brace too much when she gets it. She is a really good little girl, she just plops herself in my lap and tells me that she loves me several times a day. Makes everything else totally worth it! momo-hope you're feeling better today! Glad your mom's feeling better. Yes, this is a good week for exercising! suzen-70 degrees sounds so wonderful! My favorite weather, too. Glad you can have time at home finally. Weigh in day is Wednesday if you want to join us! Janet-glad to hear that your son's getting settled. I hope everything goes well for him. Hopefully you hear about your biopsy results soon. connie-hope you're feeling better today after some sleep! Glad Neiko's doing well, too. I've gotta go get started. I put off a few things that I should have done this weekend and now I've got a busy day ahead!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a good weekend. We went hiking on a mountain yesterday. I had Mikayla in a backpack so it was a really good workout for me! Today should be more relaxed, especially since it's raining. Mikayla did well at her measuring on Wednesday. They're making a brace that goes under her foot (with an arch support) and up to her ankle. She chose one that has pink and blue butterflies. Not sure how it'll fit in her shoes but we'll deal with that later. They never said if this would make her foot better or if she'll need it forever. We'll go back to dr in December sometime. Suzen-glad you're on your way home! I'd love to visit Bermuda someday, too! Hope your cold's better soon. axejudge-hope you're feeling better, too. My neck usually tells me when I'm starting to get something, too. If I'm paying attention and rest as soon as I notice it I usually don't get sick. momo-SO happy that your mom got that wonderful diagnosis!!!!!!! lucy-take it easy today! Glad your daughter will be with you for the walk. connie-hope you're feeling better soon, too. Take good care of yourself and neiko this weekend! I'd better go, I need to get some schoolwork graded today. Betsy |

Hi everyone! Tru-glad you're back from your trip! I hope you keep feeling better and better. Brain idea makes a lot of sense to me!!! Connie-hope you feel better soon. Glad to hear Neiko's still doing well. I think we should have weigh in Thursday, too! For some reason I always lose weight on Thursday. No idea why! Busy day today and tomorrow! Talk to you all later. Betsy |

Hi everyone! Sorry about being missing for a few days, it's been hectic here! Mikayla had her orthopedic appt. on Monday. She's going to Philly to be fitted for a brace today and should have it in about two weeks. The doctor talked a lot about what he'll do if she gets worse but didn't mention about her ever getting better, not sure if that means it's not possible or what! We're supposed to go see him and other specialists in December at the spina bifida clinic so we can talk about things like that there. We had so hoped that they'd tell us how they would fix her foot/ankle but for now are glad that they can at least help with her walking.
momo-praying for you and your mom today! Great job on your weight! I know what you mean about the driving, it's really not fun to spend the whole day in the car taking everyone from place to place. connie-great job with your weight, too! How is neiko doing?
sue-glad your patio is almost done! It's getting chilly here so we'll all be over soon! aly-glad you had a grand weekend with your daughter! Don't worry, the weight will come back off, it sounds like a good trade for the fun time you had! suz-glad the kitchen is almost done. Take out gets old after a while I'd imagine. I've gotta go, Meleah needs her gymnastics warm up suit altered this morning (I got her an extra big one since it cost almost $200!!!!!!!!! Betsy |

momo-I like talking to my kids, too, but haven't had enough time to spend with them one on one lately. I need to make that more of a priority, especially with my younger son. Glad you got so much exercise in! How did the doctor appt go? suzen-that's so frustrating that everything stopped while you weren't there! Hope you can find some healthy food for the weekend! We're celebrating my husband's birthday tonight and then tomorrow having company here for dinner so I probably won't do well! I've been very good all week, so hopefully it all counteracts! Betsy |

Hi everyone! I had a good brunch with my son. He actually talked and talked! Very unusual for him, he doesn't talk to anyone, which is part of the problem. He seemed ok, better than the night before. I've still been doing well at both walking and eating, hopefully it'll show up next Wednesday! The girls and I all have colds and coughs now, though. Lucy-the Thai food sounds delicious! I'd love to be there to try it. Chocolate cake and an office full of skinny people, sounds terrible. Momo-great job!!! Hope next week is the week and that you can stay there for good! Glad you're mom can joke about everything, I think that helps. Hope you're feeling better so you can go visit her. I'll be praying for her on Wednesday. Tru-ope you can find out what's going on soon. Have fun with your daughter and your mum! Suz-renovations always seem to take forever! Hope they're done soon, I know it can get frustrating to deal with it for such a long time. Aly-have fun with your daughter! It's getting late here, I'd better go. Have a great weekend everyone! Betsy |

Good morning everyone! I weighed in at 139.2 today which is the lowest I've been able to get to so far! Not sure why there were a few days at two pounds higher but hoefully that will end and I can start losing again! I have a really busy day today so I can't write much. My younger son is having problems so I'm taking him out for brunch (he wakes up at 11 so it can't be breakfast!). Hopefully he'll be willing to open up to me about what's going on. I have to get a lot done before that so I'd better get going! Have a great day! Betsy |

Hi everyone! I got out and walked again yesterday. It's supposed to rain here on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and get colder, too, so I need to try to get as much in as possible early this week! I'm still hoverine at almost 2 pounds abouve where I was most of last week and not sure why but I looked and it's still lower than last month at this time. momo-hope you can figure out a way to walk or exercise safely in the winter! How'd your son's hair turn out? We tried to cut our sons' hair at home before but it didn't turn out very well! aly-have fun this weeknd! Good to hear from you again. connie-that sounds so cute! I'm glad the brothers are taking care of each other. Hope everyone has a great day! Betsy

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was good! momo-how was the pumpkin festival? Sounds like fun! dd1 is doing well, thanks. Wishing the B vitamins would work but doubtful of anything so easy! justamom-good for you doing more exercise! I'm sure that not losing weight is muscle. Colorado sounds like a lot of fun. I've always wanted to do a zipline, even though I'm afraid of it at the same time! Have a great anniversary, enjoy the time alone, the kids will be fine! suz-great to hear from you again! Glad that your daughter is doing well and glad your dad is on the mend, too. Sounds like you had a very busy few months. janet-glad you're coping well. I love to read myself to sleep, too. The state doesn't give us curriculum but it tells us certain subjects we have to teach (we live in PA which has the strictest rules for homeschooling in the US). We can choose how we want to teach those subjects but then have to provide an evaluation of our school year to the school district. I choose a curriculum that I like and go from there, sometimes adding to it and sometimes doing what seems necessary. Every homeschool is a little different so it's hard to say anything that fits even most homeschoolers! Having that freedom is one of the things that makes me like to homeschool so much. connie-keeping you and Nieko in my prayers. Don't worry about being in better spirits before you write! We all want to be here for you no matter what happens. I'm wondering what happened to fall, too, it's going to be almost 80 degrees here, too. I don't like winter but some cool weather would be good! Ok, I weighed 139.8 almost every day last week and then starting on Sunday I wieghed 141.4! Maybe from eating out on Saturday night? It was Chinese food so there was a lot of sodium. Gotta get back on track today! I've still got a cough but it seems to be slightly better. I took my son to orchestra and walked (pushing a stroller and trying to get my older daughter to keep up!) around Philly all afternoon yesterday. I love doing that (well, except for trying to get dd to keep up!) so I'm hoping that will get me started in my walking again. Have a great day everyone! Betsy

Still weighing at 139.8. That's three days of the same weight for me when I usually go up and down so I think that's good. Now if I only start walking again I think it'd go down! Still coughing a lot but seems to get better. Janet-praying that you can have peace, especially in the middle of the night! The waiting seems so unfair and difficult. I hope you can have a wonderful trip and enjoy your time with your son. Tru-glad your blood sugar's ok and hope they can find out what's going on quickly! Connie-hope your tummy troubles go away quickly. Glad Neiko's still doing well. We have to start school soon, we actually skipped yesterday becaus older daughter was sick, too. She could only eat 1/2 a piece of bread all day! Good thing it's only kindergarten so it's not too difficult. Have a great weekend everyone! Betsy |

Hi everyone! Lucy-I feel like that when I overeat now, too, but sometimes I still do it anyway. Not sure exactly why when it makes me feel so terrible! Hoping you get back on track soon! Can you get Pancof at the drugstore? I've never heard of it but it sounds like something that may help with sleeping since I've been up coughing a lot. The breast cancer walk sounds like fun. Massage sounds good, too! momo-at least it's going in the right direction! Slow loss is better than gaining at least! Hope your numbers are better today, though. aly-long lines-yes, crabby government workers-yes, lots of red tape-surprisingly no! We only waited a little over an hour so that wasn't too bad and she should have her card in a week or two. We do two days of school work a day on all the other days so one day off a week still means we finish 8 days a week of school work. Not too hard to do in kindergarten, but pretty sure it won't work after this year! I think maybe we'll take an extra long holiday at Christmas, too! Gotta go get started on the day. Hope everyone has a great day! Betsy

Hi everyone! I was 139.8 today, better than last Wednesday but worse than last Thursday! I've decided to only count the Wednesday weigh ins against each other! No smoking or anything like that, could be allergies, but others here have the same thing. Now my oldest son and daughter both are coughing, too. I have some cough syrup but it tastes terrible!!!!!! Oldest daughter and I took it this morning and both of us could hardly get it down. I'll have to stop and get some cough drops this morning. I've cancelled school for my daughter on Wednesdays (benefit of homeschooling!) so we can get other things done that I haven't had time for. Today we're off to the Social Security office to apply for younger daughter's SSI number. I think we'll have to go out for lunch after that one since it's probably going to be a long morning! Connie-glad your little Neiko is doing better! Tru-hoping for good news at the doctor's. Hoping it's something less complicated. My mom did have diabetes but after losing a lot of weight she was able to come off the medication and is fine without it now. momo-keep up the good work! I'm always impressed with your exercising! I've gotta go, the natives are getting restless so we're getting ready and going to SSI. Wish us luck! Betsy |

Lucy-sounds like a great vacation! I've never made money on vacation, either, but it sounds wonderful! Janet-any news yet? Connie-hoping Neiko's doing better. My weight was down a little today so that was good. Trying to eat right again! I'd like to start exercising again but now I have a cough that is pretty bad, it really hurts to cough, so I've been holding off on that. It seems to be going around here, not really too sick but a lingering cough. Hope everyone's doing well! Talk again soon.

Hi everyone! Sorry to be missing again all weekend. We had a great time for our baby's birthday, lots of friends and food! Of course my weight is up again today but birthdays only come once a year! Well, my husband's and mine are also this months so this may not be a good month for my weight. :P Connie-so sorry about your Neiko. Glad to hear he's feeling better. We have had two male cats with urinary problems, there is a special food that is good for them and helps. Several companies make it and it's labeled for urinary problems. If he's up to eating maybe you can try that. Our first male cat had these problems and we didn't know what to do but with the one we have now the special food has made him ok, we just can't let him eat regular cat food. Janet-praying that you will get the test results quickly! That is really horrible to let you think you would have the results and then not get them! Momo-sounds like a great day shopping! It's fun to be able to buy new smaller clothes! Hi to everyone else, I've gotta go get busy now! Betsy |

Hi Everyone! Today when I got up my weight was down to 139.2. Not sure why it keeps going up and down so much in a day's time. But I'll definitely take that since it's my lowest weight since starting! I know I need to start walking again, when it was raining for almost a week straight here I stopped walking and now it's difficult to make the time for that again! Janet-good to hear from you. No driving would make me crazy, too! I'm glad you're doing well and I'll be praying that all your results are good tomorrow! Alylou-keep working! Connie-it's chilly here in the mornings now, too. Allergies are definitely here, we've all been coughing and sneezing lately. Hope everyone has a great day! I'm off to get started on my day. Betsy |

Weigh in Day- up one pound to 140.6, but that's not surprising after last weekend! I haven't been able to walk, either, because it's been raining here a lot and then yesterday and Monday I felt really terrible (achy and a headache and fatigue). Not sure why but it seems to be gone today, thankfully! Toady is our youngest daughter's birthday, her first one here so I guess it's the first one she's celebrated. She's 3 now. We'll go to the adoption agency with a cake to celebrate today and have a little party on Friday. momo-praying for your family. Keep up the walking and it's great that you're determined to not eat because of the stress! connie-sounds like some storm! Glad you're ok. lucy-have a great trip! It sounds like fun. oh, Michael is doing ok but still in pain. I told him to stop the stronger pain meds since we still aren't positive what caused his reaction. He has a blood test scheduled for Friday morning to see if they can tell what it was. Welcome lordfloor! We really are curious about the name! Gotta go get everything started for the day! Talk to you tomorrow.

Happy wekend everyone! Mine started out with a trip to the emergency room with oldest son. He had a reaction to vicodin or advil or something, have to have tests to determine exactly what. It rained most of Saturday and today. Yesterday was our neighborhood yard sale so we got pretty wet but made a few dollars. Last night and tonight we went (and are going!) to eat dinner with friends. Needless to say I'm NOT looking forward to the weigh in on Wed!!!!! momo-glad your hubby's better. Great job walking and I know you'll get to the 160's soon! connie-hope you're feeling better. I'd say BRAT diet, too. Staying in pajamas without so many trips to the throne sounds good! tru-it sounds like a wonderful party, wish we could have all come! An official welcome to the age group! Gotta go get ready to head out for dinner. Talk to everyone soon! Betsy |

Hi everyone! I've been really pmsing so I had a bad couple days but this morning I weighed the same as I did on Wednesday so I'm really happy! My son's doing well but still taking vicodin. It makes him severely grumpy! The warts on my daughter's fingers have to be removed if possible because she chews on them and I'm afraid that they'll get infected. Pretty disgusting thought. :P Everyone else is good here. We're supposed to have a yard sale tomorrow but it may rain so I'm not sure. Janet-good to hear from you. Glad you're doing well. Praying for good news. aly-125-my goal wieght. Sigh. Have fun in TX, the weight will come back off, but having fun with your family is more important! axe-hoping your sewing gets done without any trouble and that you start feeling better, too. momo-glad you're feeling better and that you could walk again. Maybe you should just walk all day and then your husband would have to take care of himself! Just kidding, I know that won't happen! connie-I think we all have a number in our mind that's too small but we have to be realistic in the end about what our body can handle. I'm hoping the goal I chose is maintainable but not sure yet. We'll see. Chili sounds good, it's gotten a little cooler here, too.

Weigh In Day 139.6! 1.8 pounds, not quite the two that I was hoping for but under 140 so I'm really happy!!!! momo-hope you're feeling better! Take care of yourself and don't worry about the walking for a day or two if you're not up to it. Connie-hoping everything goes well with your mom at the doctor today. Hope you can use as little gas as possible, too! We're trying to cut down as much as possible but still can get gas, so I'm thankful for that. Wisdom teeth were NOT easy to get out! The doctor actually took some bone out of his jaw, too. The shots weren't much better. The nurse acted like she was having a very bad day from the time we walked in (it was a different nurse from the usual one) and was just not nice about it. Mikayla actually has a bruise on her leg from one of the shots. Meleah goes today because she somehow picked up warts in China. I've tried everything I can to get rid of them and they keep spreading. One day soon I may not have to take someone to the doctor! Hope everyone has a great day! Betsy |

It sounds like everyone had a great weekend! I'd love to have you all come ride bikes with us. It was fun, we went to a park near where I grew up and rode near the river. Mikayla did enjoy it a lot, too! I want to come to the birthday party, and to eat seafood, and for dinner, and to the flea morket and on long walks! It all sounds too wonderful. As for the adopting part, I think we're done! momo-your pictures are great! connie-glad your mom's eye drops are finished. It gets tiring running around so much even if it's something you don't really mind doing. I think I need a HRM, too, especially if it will tell me that I'm burning more calories than CC when I walk! Tomorrow my oldest son gets his 5 wisdom teeth cut out and Mikayla gets more shots. Needing thoughts and prayers on both of those! I also stayed at 139.8 for three days but today I was 140.4. I know that's not much but I'm hoping it's just a one day thing! Gotta go, my oldest has a mandatory senior class meeting tonight for the homeschool group and they're taking senior pictures so we're off to get his hair cut! Betsy |

Thanks for the suggestion about the calories. I'll definitely try it! I've been stuck for a while and nothing seemed to help! I'd also like to be able to eat noodles for breakfast! The massage sounds good, too. We watched Biggest Loser, well, the second half of it. We started watching it last year about 1/2 way through the year and love watching it! It does make you want to work harder on your own weight issues. It was on at the same time as House, though, and we usually watch that as a family so we're not sure what we'll do if they stay on at the same time! Goal for next week is 2 pounds, too. If I can make that I'd break the 140 mark and that's something I haven't been able to do. I will still be happy as long as it's a loss and not a gain, though, at this point! Gotta go take a shower and then get everyone started on school work! Betsy |

Good Morning! I weighed in at 141.4, last Wed. I was 142.8. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but I'll take it! I don't know why but my weight just keeps jumping around no matter what I do. I can't get to 140 very easily or stay there for long if I do get there. I need to break that cycle but I'm not sure how. I'm walking every day but don't have time to do more than that. Most days I'm right about where I should be with my calories. Any suggestions? Yes, Mikayla may do better with the potty training when she's older. About the patience, sometimes it's there and sometimes not! I did go into this knowing that it may not be possible right now so I think that's what helped! Connie-glad you're doing ok on the paxil. Also glad your mom's doing well! Momo-I want to walk with you, too! I've always wanted a friend to walk with. My husband does walk with me sometimes lately but not always and I definitely need to walk every day! lucy-glad you're feeling better! Never give a child benedryl on an airplane!!!! Found that out the hard way, too! My husband can't take any cold medicine except the kind for high blood pressure (he doesn't have that, though). Even children's medications make him crazy! I'd better go, Mikayla and Meleah are in the dining room eating noodles for breakfast. I can see the mess now! Betsy |

Hi everyone! Janet-I guess we posted at the same time yesterday. I'll be praying for you and your doctors. The potty training didn't go well. Apparently she is almost constantly urinating. There may be nerve damage that causes that. I think we'll try to get her ankle/foot worked on and then find out about this issue. She's still not quite 3 so wearing diapers isn't a bad thing. Hopefully we can work it out before it's something that other kids notice, though. Today I weighed exactly the same as last Wednesday so hopefully, miraculously I'll lose a little overnight before the weigh in! I hope everyone's feeling well and having a great day! I'd better get started on mine now. Off to the races! Betsy |
