Depending on the pain.
My pilates instructor said that pain in your lower back is normal, he says they make your lower back stronger. Also, he recomends that you lift your "pelvic floor" and suck in your tummy, nto so much you cant breath but just a littlebit. It shifts the pressure around your body a bit differently. |

I do Pilates through my Gym. If you are going to do them from a DVD I am not sure what they all tell you about the form.
Make sure you lift your pelvic area. The way my instructor explained this is to pretend you have to go to the bathroom front and back and squeeze. Another thing to remember is to suck in your abs. Not so much that you can't breath, just say, if you were walking around and had a little pudge and like to hide it.. like that.
Those two forms are what makes or breaks pilates. If you do not do it, there is a chance you may hurt yourself or you wont reap the full benefits from it.
I don't know how much you would count your 20 mins as. Maybe just think you did a little extra that day and don't count it? Remember, everything that you do counts in one way or another. Just my 2Cents. |

what type of excersizes are you doing while you are at the gym? Is it just cardio? What is your heart rate at while you do it? |

Well, I personally wear underwear with them, just because i dont really like the idea of not wearing underwear while working out. I believe it is all your personal preference.
