Your only hope here is to just continue to be nice, positive and professional. That way she doesn't have anything on you. Also just let it wash over you and don't let it get to you. Always come across being approachable and 'there to help'. It's never nice when someone is horrible but this way you know that it's nothing you've done so it is simply down to a perception on her part. Maybe she feels very insecure and comes across as brash to cover that up. Maybe she is also trying to impress, just a bit to harshly. Maybe she is just a missy know-it-all who got the highest grades in beauty school. Remember if she is fresh out of beauty school then maybe she needs to learn a lesson or two. There will be a moment, just be patient, when she will need you to fix something that went wrong simply because you have the experience she doesn't yet have. You'll be tempted to tell her to f off but help her and you'll see a big change. |

Carrots are excellent for the liver to do its job of eliminating toxins. People's skin turns orange (usually after an excess of freshly squeezed undiluted carrot juice) but that is not the carrots so much as the detoxing in progress through the pores of the skin. Once the toxins are gone the skin will go back to its normal colour even if you keep eating / drinking carrots. |

you would need to give her as much freedom in the new house as possible so maybe get some curtain netting or similar that you can tape over the open windows so she can go in those rooms as well - that way she know the extent of her new territory and also not be too cooped up. The whole settling in should only take a couple of weeks. I wonder what the neighbours use to feed her as maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea having the same in the new place. |

I have been meaning to pick up flax seed anyway, now I will just in case! I read recently that fat is a useful place for the body to store toxins because of its low metabolic activity. It makes sense as no matter how hard you push on the burning front, a lot of folk seem to have this stubborn fat problem. I can only think that it is because they are still consuming too many toxins thinking of calories as only units of energy and not how the energy is handled as such so the body keeps some of the fat for toxin storage. So I guess just cutting toxins would help move stubborn fat too though that is way easier said than done. |

yes, bicarbonate of soda is absolutely brilliant at removing smells in nearly any situation. Sprinkling it in your purse should work. |

Be careful with garlic and raw onion and other strong 'smelling' foods like curries if you are working in an office. |

I could easily live without a phone. My hubby is always nagging me not to forget it at home, let alone keep it charged. |

She wants to have her cake and eat it. She doesn't want you as a boyfriend but finds it hard to let go properly. Tell her you value the friendship but that is what it must be and the only way for that to happen is if you just don't see eachother for a couple of months so that she can get properly over not having you as a boyfriend in her life. |

I believe in karma etc. and I would keep an open mind. Whatever your karma does not mean that you can't get it sorted. Everything is made of energy and gifted people can tap into levels of energy that we cannot. I have been to 3 within 4 years in my life and they all pretty much came up with consistent interpretations. I wonder if a consultation with a certified Chinese accupuncturist would be worth you while. Often ailments can be due to blockages in the energy pathways - Different energy pathways are linked to different parts of the body. So while you may have an ailment in one part it could be where a particular energy meridian is blocked and mean that another part of you altogethor is suffering even though it may not be complaining directly. Science is only now begining to understand these energy pathways (which the East have based their medicines on for 1000's of years) and, actually, the energy fields in our live foods. |

| Weight Loss | Do you eat out of boredom? | Jul 06 2008 18:16 (UTC) |

I never had an issue with weight or eating habits until I got a boring job working in the headoffice of a major supermarket. The buyers would drop yummy samples of all sorts on our desks all the time - I soon found out that eating can be really entertaining and so I learnt how to eat without being hungry at all. I am no longer working there so that helps and so long as I am not to tired then I can keep a handle on it. If I am overtired I tend to eat in zombie mode probably for the sugar to keep me going. |

Ha ha I like the title of your post - cap lock nut job he he! When my kids - toddlers - have been at the computer then I also get caps lock on, num lock off (which I find out the hard way when logging into banks etc. and if I send a document to print, and leave the room, I come back to a pile of kiddy pictures using up all the ink with my doc. in the back of the queue. The other day they managed to turn my whole screen upside down - so even the mouse movements were reversed as well (very tricky), took me ages to sort that out! |

Well I was on the receiving end - just for standing next to someone's bloke at the fish 'n chips counter after clubbing at about 3am. He said my hair was long- that's all. It was probably meant like your hair looks like a cave-woman's because that's what it looks like at 3am after a wild night out. Next thing I am getting pulled by my hair from behind through the crowds out the Chip Shop onto the pavement. Next thing a crowd gathered round. Then I saw my assailant - an attractive girl actually, something like zena, but horribly drunk and probably insecure. I just said sorry I don't do catfights and walked back in to get my chips. She didn't know what to do next and her fella was missing it seems at the time. Maybe he didn't want to lose his place in the queue.

I think you just gave me a good natural kitchen cleaner recipe. Don't forget your water - I find for me it makes all the difference with oral health after brushing, flossing etc. It also helps if you have a cup of water just after your coffee. |

If I'm on a night out I absolutely hate going to the loos as the mirror shows up all the flaws and more - if I saw myself like that at home I would never have felt comfortable. Maybe it's just the lighting in the loos or maybe I have magnifying beer goggles. |

When I was 18 (blimey I'm getting old) I had the option to have mine reduced and I never did it - something I regret now as then it would have been free and now it will cost an arm. So do it! |

| Weight Loss | Who to listen to when losing weight? | Jul 03 2008 17:26 (UTC) |

Listen to yourself - your hunger signals, how you really feel - do you feel alive or do you just survive or are you somewhere inbetween. A vast majority don't even know how they really feel, when they are really hungry etc. It takes practice. I am still practicing but much better then I was. Your body is much wiser then any source of info anywhere as long as it knows it has choices of good foods to choose from and physical (and mental etc) activities to do. |

In addition I have just recently cut dairy (use soya - not bad actually) and do find there is a difference altogethor in how I feel even though I am not especially sensitive / intolerant to dairy or anything else for that matter. Feeling better=more energy. |

Then I find a scrambled egg with a bit of - fried in olive oil (or low cal spray)- spring onions, red peppers, mushrooms or anything really takes me right through to a late lunch very easily with the kind of energy that is very stable. (It's only that fruit is best early on an empty stomach that I don't do eggs much lately as I am trying to get more in - but it's the next best.). |

If she moved out just recently - like a year or less - and did the same thing I would be direly disappointed but 3 years away - long distance - is long enough to get established in new circles with new close friends. If you (somehow) were there as well then I am sure you would be a bridesmaid - no questions asked. But this is her point in her life now which is not in the past, and the past is swaying you. She is living in the present, she has invited you so wants you to be there and that is testament to her appreciation of your friendship. I wouldn't be surprised if she makes time for you. I would go and be openly happy for her and happy that she has settled in so well with a husband and lovely friends (rather then ending up alone and not getting on with anyone). And one day, if she needs someone who is not involved with everything there she knows she has you to count on. As for the cost, well if that is a genuine barrier to you going then do tell her that. |

I cut down my meat intake to one variety once a day for the week leading up to Sunday. I had a fry-up (cooked with olive oil etc.) with 3 or 4 varieties of protein and enjoyed it except half an hour later it really wanted to come up. It was like my stomach was saying ''no way I have had it better and I am not going back to that.'' And I don't think I will now. |

Your interpretation is key and creates a reality that isn't necessarily the truth. Next time throw a comment back - in this case you could have maybe replied with something like "yeah I didn't eat all day and this was just delicious" or "I so love this dinner I compensated in advance type of thing (whatever's appropriate) instead of immediately interpreting it in a certain (but not necessarily as intended) way. The ball goes back into her court and her reply will probably show you that nothing mean was intended and it will all end there and then. I wish I did that when somebody close to me said 'you won't lose weight' - but then that is a finite statement and not an insinuating one. Yet I wish I did reply back with something like 'what makes you say that' - I am sure that it would have developed into a conversation proving that it was said carelessly without conviction rather then leaving me with that sentence that bugs me from time to time. |
