just bought the brown sugar and cinnamon box they don't actually have that much protein after all no trans fat no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils yes HFCS they taste great, but are so sweet-better for a treat or candy bar fix they are also expensive-definitely just a once in a while treat I'll just stick with apples |

Original Post by enchantingimage: EXCUSE KATRINA? I am a survivor. I woke up one day and I felt like I was Alice on the other side of the mirror wearing other people's clothes, staying in another person's house, wandering directionless and basically lost. And you are telling me that I am excusing Katrina. Wow. Good luck, lady. Excuse me if I am 100% ready to put that horrible chapter of my life behind me and focus on the present. |

mooni, do you know where he talks about this? I looked on his website and saw other info about tax policy but not about taxing savings. I know 401k and IRA are both taxed at a certain time, depending on the type it is, but this person was telling me that Obama was going to tax the Roth IRA twice |

does anyone know if Obama is going to tax municipal bond investments, 401k's and savings? I can't get a clear answer on that. some a-- said that he was going to but I can't find a definitive answer on the net, just some crappy drivel that passes for journalism |

enchanting, don't act like some of us don't know what tragedy is. we know perfectly well what it means to suffer if we have our reasons for not having our minds made up yet or if we don't agree with you, that is our right we are not stupid or ignorant or uncaring if we don't have our minds made up yet and excuse me if "change" is not at the top of my list |

15 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber? That's pretty good, better than tofu anyway. Do they taste ok? Might pick up a box at the store this weekend and write a review for you! |

sometimes I feel like it is the government's "plan" to "handle" the social security problem, just let those who really need die before the government has to pay us. it's such a sham. we sold everything of my mother in law. we scrimp and save and the entire family supported and still supports her while she withers away the government did that with my other relative. he died when he was 62 just one month before he actually was supposed to get the first payment because he was awarded Social Security, both backpay and current. it's such a crime and then people go and bitch about Walmart let's see some politician come up with a real answer and I will vote for that person one of the major problems no one talks about is that you have to almost be dead and in the gutter before you get help. either modify the rules or get rid of the system all together |

@ Claire, what you are not sharing is that the requirements for social security are that you had the minimum number of quarters worked in the last 10 years prior to filing your claim, so all that time she worked before that window did not "count" and she was too demented to work during that window anyway. I was just trying to be pleasant when I said on some other board that she took a "hiatus." She was just too far advanced into her Alzheimer to be able to do much of anything. The same thing happened with one of my other relatives who was disable. Same crap different person. Eventually, we got a little SSI for her, but try paying for a fully demented person's care on that pittance. it didn't even cover her meds and all that money she put in, she will die long before they pay it back to her. it is so wrong in so many ways, and the government would not give her full social security until she turned 65. |

haha nomo I'm with mspw on this one. The government has so screwed up their involvement in our healthcare already that I could not trust them to handle any more of it. Another thing the government has completely messed up is Social Security. Try getting social security, really. I was at the point where I was getting ready to sue based on the fact that the government would not hold up its end of the deal for my poor mother in law who is so demented and can't even feed herself anymore. Hell, half the time she does not even know if she ate already or if she feels hunger. It is terrible for her and for us. She paid into the Social Security system for 20+ years and then did not work for 10 years and the government screwed her over so terribly. Now, they have to pay because she is finally 65, but we paid so much to take care of her. It is unreal. The same type of thing happened with one of my other relatives. I tell you the government is so unbelievably corrupt. I cannot express how terrible it is and I would never want to put my healthcare into their horrible corrupt hands. I just want someone who can fix things. I'm sick of all of it. I don't know about Obama or McCain, but I have a feeling that all anyone is doing anymore is just flapping their lips and no one will actually fix anything. I wish they would all just shut up and start focusing their energies on doing something real to fix these problems. |

We just have to stop being consumers and start being community members. IMO that is where is starts. At this point, I feel that so many people are so caught up with judging and not stopping and listening and suspending judgement that we just seem to forget we are actually busy "being with" other people. That's ultimately the goal, right? I don't know. In my mind, that is the the goal. If it is all about what I want and what I need, then what's the point of ever having relationships. I think politicians today are forgetting that we are all in this mess together. I think voters are forgetting that, too. There are so many fricking hypocrites out there right now that are spending so much time criticizing and hating on fellow Americans and then they get pissed off that the opposition does the same thing. Both sides forget that we are pretty much stuck with each other. It's like that play by Sartre No Exit. I read it years ago and did not fully grasp the meaning until this recent election and it just clicked for me. |

I don't understand why everyone hates the fact that Chinese and other non-Americas are getting jobs, food, etc due to Walmart shoppers. Don't those people need to eat, too? I get that I am supposed to feel a sense of loyalty to fellow Americans. It's just pure xenophobia and nationalism that makes people say that it's so wrong that a job goes to China or to India. Seriously, what is so specialized about a manufacturing job? You REALLY can't get another job doing something else? Are you kidding me? I have seen the laziest, most idiotic, unreliable, incompetent jerks get jobs and keep them seemingly forever. Are you really telling me that people can't get other jobs? Maybe they can't get a job anymore that pays them $20 per hour for just standing there and pushing a button on a box assembler or for sitting around the maintenance shop surfing the internet while waiting for the assembler to break down. Are you seriously telling me that people don't have transferable skills? If they don't, then it's their own fault. Has anyone here actually worked at a manufacturing plant that served Walmart? If so, where were your coworkers from? Were they Americans? Would there really be so much backlash if all the products came from Canada? Sometimes, I just have to wonder. Oh wait, our biggest trade partner IS CANADA! How many of you own a fully 100% made in the USA car? how about the couch? How about the tv? Hm??? |

my friends an coworkers-there is delicious food in the office and the people around me are so stressed that they do not take care of themselves as much as they deserve. I am trying to turn them on to "my" foods (fiberone products, fruits, healthy tasty snacks). It is kind of working and it is helping us all out a lot. high calorie food and alcohol at every social function
