Not to get too psyhological on you, but does it bother you that he is "too" thin, or does it just really bother you that he is thinner than you?  Maybe you need to take a look at why it bothers you.  I am msure that you are truly concerned about his health, but I know what you mean, no girl wants to be bigger than her man.

Thanks for the input, I have noticed that it is when i workout in the morning.  I guess, not enough in the tummy.  I ran sunday afternoon and did bikram yoga last night and not pukety-puke.  I think it has something to do with taking my vitamins, and the pill first thing in the morning.

I have been to the Dr. several times and they have not said anything about PT.  I guess I better just speak up and ask!

July 4th Weight 139 ( the 30's sound so good to me :) had to add and extra pound! )

Plan of Attack:  eat between 1200-1400 calories.  Mountain bike 2 days a week, hit the gym for 3 days of cardio with weights.  One chocolate per day at work (snack size)  Stretch every day to help relive bac pain and build lean muscles

I keep bouncing around between 150 and 147, kinda annoying. 

Just passing through on my way to my goal of 135 by Jan 1st.  Can I do it??

No Myth about this one lady's.  The fact of the matter is that by taking oral contraceptives your are changing your bodys hormonal composition.  More female hormones (i.e estrogen) produce a need for the body to store more as fat.  It is not water weight, nor is eating more.  It is just changing the way your body stores different things.  Many women find it harder to loose the last 10-15 lbs. becuase of this when they have been on it, and yet others gain weight when starting.   

Since everyone is different, each women's body will or will not react the same to the pill.  If a women has a higer prevalnce of certain enzymes in her liver, the pill is broken down in a different manner, thus she may not experiene certain side effects, like weight gain, like others may.

I belong to 24 hour fitness and tend to like it, however some of the classes are super crowded and some people follow the instructors around from gym to gym- instructor cliques.   Also the chiks that get dressed to go work out and spend more time talking than working.  Otherwise, I am there to do my thing, so I try to ignore them.

I also need to lose the last ten.  They never seem to go anywhere, however I have started to up my workout time and intensity, and cut to lower carbs, so we will see if that works.  I will let you know!

Buffalo Chicken- the healthy way

Take some chicken breasts and chop them up.  cook them in a little olive oil.  After they are cooked add any kind of buffalo sauce you want, I like Red's.  For the salad part I use romaine and spinach, green onions, corn, cilantro, diced hard boiled eggs, low-fat cheese.  Add a low-cal/lo-fat ranch, toss and top with the chicken.  So Yummy! so much protein.  It is estimated to be about 300 calories, depending on what cheese & dressing you use.

in the same boat as you all are.  I am starting graduate school this year, so I feel that it will be even more difficult to find time to exercise.  Here are my stats...

Started: 164 June 2005

Current: 147

Goal: 130-135

I have a friends wedding to be in on 9-9-06, and my dress is a bit tight at the moment.  Need to drop 5-7 in a month.  Any help or suggestions would be great!

Just read the post and I too am in this boat. I have been stuck in the 145-148 range for months despite exercising 4 x's week for 1 hour or more.  I have yet to see those lovely 130's in many years and I am only 24.  Hopefully I can get some inspriration and help here!

being the GF of a vietnamese, I can vouch for Pho- which is the noodle soup you ar talking about.  The noodles that they use for it are really low in calories and carbs actually-  And the broth is just made from Ox tail meat- which they remove the fat from.  So i would go with the Pho- but stay away from the kind with the meatball like things in it-pure fat- instead go with the kind that they put slices of thin beef on top!  yum so filling, it is making me hungry

I do not keep track of my measurements, i judge it also by the way my clothes fit, and there is no happy story there either.

ditto.. i am at 145 at stand only 5'3" so that last ten will make me go from chubby to toned.  I want to get a least 5-7 off my july 10- Vegas BABY!

yes...your body does indeed have a set point, just like every other system in our body.  Coming straight  of a human physiology class, hence the knowledge.  Once our body reaches it set point, it takes time for it to develop a new one.  The way in which our body can do this, is to alter the state that it currently is in, i.e exercising more and in different ways, and eating less and different foods.  Hope this helps!

I weigh myself once a week, this is what I learned in Weight Watchers to be the most helpful and most accurate.  Every friday morning, same place , same time, wearing the same thing- or nothing at all tends to be most accurate and also helps to not get obessed with it, but make it a lifestyle change.

Here's one that I learned in a boxing class-they will really get you results

1. Find a sturdy wall and put your butt up against the wall and your laegs up the wall, so you body is at a 45 degree angle with the wall. 

2. Time yourself for one minute and reach for your toes so that  your upper body comes off of the ground so you smack your toes with your hands.  do two sets of these.

3. Next do them to the right and left, smacking the outside of your foot.

I know this sounds confusing but they are super simple and oh so good- let me know if this does not make since and I will send you some pictures

Not a good idea at all...any of them.  I took one that did wonders that was from China, next thing I knew I had kidney stones.  Being naive after my surgery to remove the stones, I tried another name brand one, and low and behold more kidney stones.  Most of our bodies are unable to process nutrients at that high of level and although they may be all natural, our body cannot break them down.  Therefore they end of collecting as uric acid, or other types of acid that form stones in our kidneys.  I drank more water than is reccomended and my doctor pinpointed to diet pills as soon as I told him I was on them.  The  medical field is seeing an iincrease in women(young ones especially) becuase of this problem.  SO jsut FYI beware!!
