Hey Guys! I didn't post my weigh-in on Friday but I did weigh. So thought I'd pop on here really quick and post it now. I was at 211.4. I'll try to make a longer post sometime tonight after class or tomorrow while I'm at work. Hope you all are doing great!

Hey Guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I just wanted to check-in, let you guys know I'm still alive, and see how everyone is doing. Audrey- I LOVE the goal/prize list you've set up. It seems like an awesome idea. I think I'll definitely be putting one of those together for myself here in the next few days. Novi- Congrats on breaking that plateau! It's sooooo frustrating to keep working when you don't see any change. It's also soooo rewarding when you finally do start seeing that change, right? I'm really excited for you! Let's hope it keeps up! And BTW I've used that Palmer's skin firming lotion. It is great. I've used the Palmer's cocoa butter forever anyway because it's the only lotion that seems to have lasting results. Hope everyone else is doing great this week! Since we're doing weekly weighins on Fridays now (right?) I was 213 last I weighed myself. Let's see if I can get that to 211 by the end of the week. TOM right now so I'm not expecting much more than that.

Awww, sorry Novi. I hit a small plateau and decided to slowly increase my calories until I was back up at about 1800-2000 a day (when trying to lose I eat around 1300). And then after a few weeks I slowly went back down to 1300. It seems to have worked. I didn't gain any weight during my 1800-2000 time frame, I just maintained. But it seems to have boosted my metabolism. You might give it a try. Not binge eating of course... slowly increasing the calories up and then down. Increasing/decreasing 50-100 calories a day. |

Just in case you all do need one more person... I'm 21 years old (I'll be 22 in 3 days :O!) and a college senior. I should be graduating with my bachelor's degree in May. I'm currently 5'6" 220lbs. My long term goal is 140. I started CC at 250lbs back in June. I lost the 30lbs with surprising ease, and then school started back :S. Since then I haven't really lost any weight but I haven't gained any either (that's a real victory for me at least IMO)! Now that all the holiday stress is winding down and I'm settled in to my routine, it's time to get back on the ball. One thing that really made me want to join this group is the fact that Audrey (godsmissiongal) mentioned that she was in the process of being diagnosed with PCOS. I was actually diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13. I would love to have someone else to relate to on the subject. Plus, it's nice having people to relate to on the weight loss goals in general. I don't know exactly why it is, but I am so much more motivated to keep on going when I have other people who are working toward the same goals. When ever I just feel like giving up or when I've had a bad day. I can jump on the CC forums and become instantly motivated again! It's a great feeling. |

| Weight Loss | What size should I be? | Jul 20 2008 18:47 (UTC) |

Clothes sizes can be soooo crazy (especially women's clothing). You really don't look like you should be wearing a size 10 or a large but it may just be the brands you are buying. Normally I would say you're probably a lot smaller than that. I've noticed that different brands can be as much as 2-3 sizes different for me though. |

I'm going into my senior year of college so it's been a little while since I was in high school. In my experience though middle school is probably the most awkward and terrible time of anyone's life but once you start high school things get better and better. You become more and more independent, make more friends, get to goof off and enjoy not having any extremely pressing responsibilities, AND with the least amount of effort you can do really well academically. I took honors classes when I was in high school and found them to be a breeze.

HAHAHA! It's bad enough that they're hard to pull apart but do you ever try to throw them in the toaster oven and the top comes out burnt because it's so thin and flimsy compared to the bottom? |

| Foods | Did I... did I just eat a salad? | Jun 26 2008 01:23 (UTC) |

Original Post by ladyfirelyght: It seems strange to some people but fruits go REALLY well in salad. Esspecially when you use vinagrettes or salty ingrediants such as olives, meat, or cheese. I agree with you about iceburg lettuce though :S. Every time I tell people that I hate iceburg lettuce (and celery) because it tastes bitter they say "Lettuce (and celery) doesn't have a taste!" I'm happy to hear that someone else hates it too. Romaine lettuce actually has a better flavor than iceburg and I can stomach it but I do like to put meat (chicken, tuna, something), grapes, apples, onions, and other things in there to liven it up a little. Oh and Wishbone Salad Spritzers are great for all of your salads! They're only 1 calorie a spray (a few of the kinds are 2 calories a spray) and I only use 2-4 sprays normally. |

| Fitness | My left knee is making a crackling sound, any ideas? | Jun 25 2008 21:30 (UTC) |

My knees and elbows always snap, crackle, and pop like a bowl of Rice Krispies. They've always done it and it doesn't hurt at all. I ask my doctor about it when I was about 13 and he said that it wasn't anything to worry about and that some people just pop , lol. If you're going in for a physical anyway though it's worth asking about. After all, it's always good to have a second opinion. If your doctor says their might be something wrong, let me know so I can worry too! ^_^ |

I have the same problems with getting up, I try setting my alarm about an hour earlier than I intend to get up but that doesn't always help. I also try to put my alarm as far away from the bed as possible so that I HAVE to get up to turn it off. As for your feet aching I am a college student but during the summer for the last three years I've worked in a factory. Taking on 12 hour shifts and wearing steel toed boots the whole time isn't much fun but I didn't think that insoles would help. I got the gel insoles and even though some people swear by them they didn't help me. A friend told me about the Dr. Scholls tri-comfort insoles. She said they were great (I didn't believe her, lol) but one day while I was at the store I thought "what the heck!" and I bought some. They actually did work REALLY well. |

| Health & Support | coffee the new "it drink"? | Jun 19 2008 21:35 (UTC) |

When I googled "4 cups of coffee a day" it just brought up some information about how it may help prevent gout. If that's the only benefit then, personally, I still won't be picking up a coffee habit. I've always thought coffee (and tea) tasted terrible but I live in Tennessee and it seems like everyone in the south loves one or the other or both. |

| Weight Loss | Every weekend I overinduge and blow my week's deficit... | Jun 06 2008 21:55 (UTC) |

I can totally relate to your "all-or-nothing" feelings! I used to find myself eating one bad thing and then saying "Well you already did it might as well have something else!" and before I knew it I would have eaten away all of my earlier efforts. The best thing I've found to do is to not think about it like you're on a diet. Think about it like it's something you want to do for the rest of your life. Don't cut out any specific foods for good. When ever I would say to myself "That's it, no more sweets EVER!" I would just want them more. When you don't conciously cut out any specific foods but rather ask yourself "how many calories am I willing to waste on this food?" You'll find yourself eating a lot less. |

:S It can feel really terrible when you KNOW that you've eatten too much in the first place. Top it off with a family trip out to eat for dinner? You'll feel awful by the end of the day if you aren't careful. |

I'm pretty much in the same boat minus the marriage part (Congratulations btw) and the living in North Carolina (TN here). I'm 21, 5'7, 250lbs and have a goal weight of 140. I've been on CC for about a week now and it's probably the most helpful tool I've ever found. |
