Young Calorie Counters Fending off The Freshman Fifteen... Jun 13 2008

This group is so true. The freshman 15 is horrible. I gained 15 pounds my freshman year and I commute which made me think that I would still be eating some good food....that didnt happen because I was on campus for 12-13 hours every day so i ate the same food everyone else did. I was also way too lazy to go the gym even though I wasnt that active before college. Once I got to college working out just seemed like a big pain in the but and I was not going to do it....I so regret that. So for those who will be freshman this coming fall...have fun be safe but watch what you eat...you will be surprised at what the food your caf. contains. The cafeteria was kind of based on healthy foods but it was still very bad for you and I ate quite a bit of it. Also I have a feeling that most freshman will be drinking and such...try to stay away from that as it will be SO BAD for your calories especially if you drink heavily...plus ur underage which sucks but deal with it. I do. Anyway just be safe and watch out for those tempting foods....you dont want to have to lose another 15 pounds. I was overweight before I went to college and now I have a MUCH LONGER road ahead of me.

Young Calorie Counters "guys dig curves" garbage Jun 13 2008

I am a man who really loves a girl who has a good set of curves as long as its predominately healthy. ie. a good mix of fat and muscle. Anyway I think that age does have something to do with it as more and more teens pay attention to the newest thing stick figure out there and that thin is in although that is starting to change I think. I personally think I am more mature in what I want in a woman even though I have no experience...I say this mainly because I have never really been attracted to the girl that sends a gazillion mixed signals and plays like 20 mind games with 3 guys at a time which lets face it is the majority of girls in high school a little less in college but those girls usually have boyfriends who they adore....unfortunate for me... O well when the time will come.

Young Calorie Counters How old were you when you had your first kiss? Jun 13 2008

I shall admit....I have yet to be kissed...even out on a date. I am 18 years old. I want to start dating but I am extremely shy and I look for the smart pretty girls but here in Cincinnati its really hard cuz they seem to all have boyfriends already and the ones who dont are quite dirty so yeah. Also I dont have much confidence in myself since I am quite large and all. Its one of the reasons I want to lose weight.

O and about the whole people making bad desicions is in their genes things....NO that is absolutely not true. The problem is that there is an EXTREME stress on individualism which in lesser amounts is not that bad but as you mentioned asian cultures not being as rebellious that is true to the fact that the society is based around community and family honor and such however here its all about you. There needs to be more stress on family and on the community and shame and such this way the next generation will not be so rebellious. Trust me I am growing up in a home where family is pretty much the most important thing. However I think there is a little bit of too much of that in my home as I am starting to rebel a bit and I have drank a couple of times and gotten drunk once. So in personal experience it is nurture for sure but nothing will change unless there is less emphasis on individualism in our society. BTW this concept of individualism is consistent in almost all westernized countries.

I am 18 5'5" I weigh close to 200 pounds....I extremely overweight and I just started. I am trying to eat about 1700 calories a day although today was about 1900. I am walking right now to condition my self so I can run and eventually do HIIT. I have yet to start strength training but I will start soon as I want to make all of these habits before the summer is over so I will schedule it into my daily life when college starts up again. I have a long way to go in terms of fat loss. I am glad there are alot of people around the same age as I am on here.

The One thing I am concerned about right now is the amount of meat that is on the pita bread, if anybody has a good knowledge of food and their portions I am wondering how much ground beef is needed to spread onto a 6.5" round piece of bread that is fairly thin

Weight Loss Females... The perfect body? Jun 13 2008

My vision of the perfect body....for me I just want defined muscle and decent strength and endurance. I know that this is hard as I have come to realize that I pack on fat very easily but that is my vision. I absolutely will be happy if I have a slim stomach that is not defined but definitely healthy. I have a long way to go but I will get there and I hope it nothing will stop me.

As for the perfect body for a woman I agree the woman has to be healthy. I find it extremely attractive and sexy when a woman looks healthy or has some muscle definition. This obviously shows their capacity for commitment and that is huge in my book (Although I may not have the best capacity!Embarassed). Anyway on top of that I like it when a girl is proportionate. Not to get too vulgar or anything but a big chest isn't always a good thing if it looks like they could keep you afloat...I am not into it. However if it fits nicely into a HEALTHY hourglass figure that thats just awesome. But don't get me wrong if a woman looks healthy but does not sport an hourglass figure it wont keep me from being attracted to said woman.

O I forgot to mention its a VERY good thing to put ice around your cheeks and keep them there for 15 min than off for about 10 than back on for 15 etc.

I know that may sound difficult to keep them in place but if u use something like a really long tube sock you can slide the ice/ice packs into the sock and position them on your cheeks then tie the ends on top or under your head. You will look goofy but trust me there will be next to no swelling and it will help things heal faster. It may be a good idea to cut the closed end of the tube sock to make things easier. you just basically need something that will hold the ice in place.

Weight Loss 18-21 yr olds. . . do they exist here? Jun 11 2008

Hi I am 18 years old 5'5" 195 lbs and sick of being fat. I have dealt with my weight since a was a child about 9 or 10 I would say. About a year ago I used to about 165-170 then summer and college rolled around..... Now I am looking to change my life and become healthier and support a healthy lifestyle. Any support from anyone is great but its good to know there are people around my age on this website! I have just started and I joined last week. My motivation is that I keep hearing little side jokes from friends and I want all that to stop. I want to lose enough weight that by the time college comes back around they will think twice about making that sly remarkLaughing. Another huge motivator is that I want to shock everyone of my family members when I see them again hopefully next summer!

In my opinion you look fine the way you are. I don't think a boob job is necessary because your breasts might look disproportionate the rest of our body. Anyway as I guy I don't look at cup sizes if it looks good on you its awesome! But seriously you look great the way you are I wouldn't get one

I got my widsom teeth taken out about a year ago and it wasnt that bad at all. As far as being all sleepy and stuff from the anesthetic that didnt really effect me. You may or may not have to use painkillers that you are prescribed I only used 1 pill and didnt need it anymore. Tylenol usually works Smile. Any way ther was some soreness at first but soft foods are good. Drink mostly liquids. A good thing to remember is that if your chin is numb after the procedure try as best as u can to pour water in your mouth....its kinda hard I was drooling everywhere the first day! The one thing that got annoying after the surgery is when all the pain and swelling is gone you have to use a plastic syringe like device to help flush out any food that will probably find their way into your new formed holes. Now I am not talking about food going into an open wound I realized that my gums were surrounding where my wisdom teeth used to be and formed some pockets. I accidently poked the inside of one of them and it was sore at most. I wouldnt really worry that much and if something goes wrong sue em! haha. BEst of luck and dont worry too much you will be fine

Personally I like a girl with curves if it is obvious that she takes decent care of herself. I would prefer if they were mostly muscular curves but some fat in those areas is not a big issue at all. Sometimes it even enhances a woman's beauty. The point is be comfortable and confident in your body and you will portray a very sexy image of yourself. Now I need to get fit myself! Embarassed

uhhhhh are you implying that I am a girl? I am an 18 year old male. I hope that was just a simple mistake Undecided Anyway thank you everyone for the advice but I do have another question... If I were to diet in a way to lost fat fast but at the same time start to adjust my eating habits as I have started to do would I be eliminating the yo-yo dieting? Just trying to find the quickest and most beneficial way. I know that I may come off as extremely impatient or stubborn but I am that sick of carrying this weight around. I used to not get subtle remarks from friends and family but I was straight up told to lose weight in a harsh manner by a family member. I know he means well but it was just kind of like.....man I REALLY need to lose this weight.
