Health & Support Please help, I'm spiraling into bingeing.... May 05 2009

Yes, the missing periods are not good... my doctor apparently isn't very smart, because he seems to be really unconcerned. After I missed 3, my mum told him about it, but he said it wasn't a big deal. He still knows I haven't had one. My mum is searching for a gynecologist for me to go to.

Thank you for the advice, I'll try harder to increase my intake... I was doing that for awhile, getting up to about 1400, but the initial gained weigh scared me so much. :(

Ooh, thanks for this! Kibbeh with meat was one of my favorite foods before I became a vegetarian.

Foods Need advice - Favorite Pistachio foods? Dec 21 2008
16:31 (UTC)

They may be a bit hard to put in a basket, but my friends and I made these amazing appetizers with pistachios; goat-cheese covered grapes with a crushed pistachio coating.

What you do is roll some soft goat cheese in your palm with a grape until it's covered. Then, roll it around in crushed pistachios (you can grind the nuts in a blender). Put them in the fridge for an hour, and they're ready to eat!

I have to say, even bingeing on something healthy is bad. Eating a whole jar of pickles isn't healthy, and can make you feel like crap afterwards. Pardon me if I'm wrong, but the OP can feel sick to her stomach after eating a whole jar, not because "I ate too much food" but because "I ate too much of one thing."

Anyway, I am guilty of somethings eating a whole can of reddi whip. I've been eating granny smith apples like crazy for the past month; they're sooo good baked with some cinnamon! I used to eat tomato sauce with splenda like crazy, but haven't in quite awhile.

halloween

what's your least favorite candy?: Dum-dums.

christmas

what's your favorite food at the christmas dinner table? (stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc): Hmm, well, as far as traditional holiday food with my grandparents (my mum and I don't do Christmas), corn casserole and croissants. I also love the olives for hors d'oeuvres!

what's your least favorite food at the christmas dinner table?: Turkey. Even before I was vegetarian, I never liked it.

favorite christmas dessert?: Banana creme pie, yum. And pumpkin pie!

do you cook christmas dinner yourself, or do you go somewhere else for christmas?: With my mum, yes. My grandma does a lot of the cooking when I'm with them. However, this year, being my first as a vegetarian, I'm going to be cooking a few dishes for myself.

is christmas your favorite holiday?: Not really.

Cans of tomato sauce with tons of splenda mixed in... I just put a can opener, the can, and a couple packs of splenda in my lunch box and I'm set!

When I was little and had lunchables pizzas I would make one pizza that had the cheese, tomato, and chocolate sauce all mixed together.

The Lounge W. movie. Oct 26 2008

I saw it last weekend. It was okay, definitely some funny bits. It was also rather informing about some stuff (a lot is obviously dramatization). Though it does mock him quite a bit, the movie isn't entirely about making fun of President Bush; it's more about how he wants to get out of his father's shadow, and prove himself better than his brother.

Young Calorie Counters Girls 5'7"...what size do you wear? Oct 16 2008

I'm 120, and I usually wear 4s, some 6s, and sometimes 2s (that's pretty rare, haha). With tops, I wear smalls. I'm really poorly toned (skinny fat), which I'm hoping to work on.

The Lounge Who is voting for someone other than McCain or Obama? Oct 16 2008

I can't even vote in this election (arggg, I come close) but I've been following it very closely.

My personal opinion is that you shouldn't vote for 3rd part candidates, as their votes hinder the people that the race is really between. For example, any votes that went to Nader took away votes that could have gone to Kerry. I understand not having viewpoints that follow closely with democrats and republicans, but for your vote to count you should pick which one shares the most of your viewpoints, and vote for them.

I found it at Target. It'd pretty hard to find, which is a shame.

Did anyone else notice that there isn't a reunion episode this season or did I just miss it o.O?

I noticed that too; I was looking forward to everyone bashing on Kenely!

After watching Wednesday's episode, I'm 100% sure Leanne is this season's winner... the judge's loved her wedding dress, and it totally represents her collection. I thought Korto should have gone home. Her wedding dress was terrible unflattering on the model!

Foods Cool Whip verses Redi Whip Oct 12 2008
19:15 (UTC)

I love them both for different things. Cool whip can make an amazing dip for fruit and can be used in recipes a lot easier. Also, it doesn't melt like reddi whip does. But reddi whip tastes so different, and I love it for its own taste. It's sooo good with sugar free jello!

It's not really, gone, but these cereal bars called Aspen (or something like that) bars! They're available in the UK; while I was in London this summer, I bought some. They're so yummy, like candy, and only 70 calories. I was hoping they'd be available in the States, but I haven't found them... D:

When I lost my first 20 pounds, the first winter was very cold. Now, with another 10 pounds gone, it's even more cold! It's the 60s for me too and I've been sleeping with 2 comforters, 4 blankets, and a sheet. And I have Raynaud's (disease where your hands/fingertips/feet/etc become very cold). One big part of how cold/warm you feel is your feet. So, wearing warm socks helps a lot!

Foods Tabouleh? Oct 03 2008

Mmm, I love making tabbouleh! It can really vary; does is have a large amount of bulgur in it? And of course the big thing is how much oil do they put in it? You can probably judge that by taste. I'll estimate at about 100-300 calories per cup.

I second the Fiber One mix; I found it a couple days ago and it makes great pancakes! I used 1/3 cup of the mix plus a tablespoon of pumpkin; it was pretty filling and tasted excellent, especially for about 130 calories.

I forget where I heard this, but it made me laugh a lot: "...even if I eat this, the kids in Africa will still be hungry."

I need to tell my friends this; they always eat everything on their plate, even if they're stuffed, because of the children in Africa. Being glutinous is even worse than throwing away food, and more insulting to starving children.

I've been trying to eat slower and chew more. When I was in Europe I was really good and was always last to finish my meal, but since I've been back it's gotten bad again.

Have you been eating a lot of salty foods? They can make you retain water, which reflects on the scale. I ate a ton of salt yesterday, and weighed almost 3 pounds more than usual this morning.

Weight Gain Sodium increase necessary? Sep 21 2008

Hmm, I would say keep it the same. I would that if it's higher than usual, you would be fine too. Sodium would only cause a weight gain because you would be retaining water. If you do up your sodium, make sure you drink enough water!

I'd like to join you guys! My goal is 115 by Nov 30th, so pretty much Thanksgiving. That'd be 7 pounds for me, but I'll probably end up at five anyway, haha.

I personally think Sundays are good weigh-in days; I've found that the more sleep you get, the lower your morning weight is. (So it boosts my self-esteem, haha).

I went to Applebee's a few nights ago, mainly because my mum wanted to go. Their soup of the day was black bean, so I ordered a cup of that. when I got it, I was very suspicious after tasting at it/looking at it carefully that there was beef in it. When I asked the waitress, she said "I dunno, I think it's mainly just a bunch of smashed beans." No kidding... then again I live in IN.
