GREAT BREAKFAST: mix 1 oz. (measured dry) steel cut oats, 1 cup yogurt (nonfat plain if you are trying to cut the cals), and an apple (about 6-8 oz). you can also add other fruits/replace the apple with other fruits so long as you have about 6-8 oz of fruit in total. also, if you use plain yogurt, you can add cinnamon or even honey to sweeten it up. (however i find that the apple makes it sweet enough on its own!) this is a balanced breakfast that consists of the right amount of protein and carbs (and also adds fruit i.e. fiber). it adds up to about 300-400 calories, depending on what type of yogurt you use or if you add any sweetener. and remember, the key is mixing it all together...mm delicious! hope that helps. good luck :) |
