I don't think it's fair at all to say that all fat people are unhealthy, because it's just not true. I think what people usually mean is that being obese/overweight raises your risk for health problems. |

I'm so sorry....that really sucks. I feel your pain - my bike was stolen about a week ago and it was really expensive. I kept it on my balcony at my apartment but it was stolen while I was in class at my university. boo :'( |

I am not tempted at all by chicken - it's just that I never used to eat red meat anyways so chicken and fish were pretty much the only thing I'd eat. I think it's really funny that other people have had these dreams :) They actually upset me quite a bit right after I had them, but now looking back I think it's hilarious. What a crazy nightmare....about eating chicken!!! At least it's better than a dream about zombies eating me or something :D |

HAHA I thought you were saying that every day, you use 10 less calories than the day before. As if on Monday you used 2000, Tuesday 1990, Wednesday 1980, etc. Sorry about the misunderstanding. :]

Ten calories per day would be a TON, floggingsully! That would be 3650 a year! Even less than 10, if, say 5, would still be over 1000 meaning each year you'd have to eat 1000 less calories than before? Soon you'd need negative calories :D I'm guessing you meant 10 per year? (I hope) :D |

Hey all, I was prescribed 2.5 mg of Lexapro today. It's a small dose but my psychiatrist said it would keep side effects to a minimum and it would be the best thing for my anxiety. Has anyone had any experience with different doses? How did the dose affect your side effects? Thanks again for your previous responses! Hearing some positive stories helps with my anxiety about trying this, especially with all of the horror stories floating around the internet!! |

I know proper form for squats and lunges and I'm comfortable with those, but I never do deadlifts because it seems awkward to me (even with proper weights) and I'm scared of having the wrong form and hurtin' my butt :] (or my back!) |

Thank you all for the great replies! I am leaning more on the side of trying the A.D. now after reading these replies and doing lots of personal research. I still have to meet with my psychiatrist before I decide for sure, but I will be much more open to her suggestions now. I really hope that my life can change for the better, as it sounds like some of yours have. My counselor said the A.D. could help to calm the "business" in my head, and that is the effect that I am mostly hoping for. I also agree with what a few of you said about the weight gain....I need to continue to strive for a more "normal" outlook, and for me to not go on a drug that could possibly make a huge difference in my happiness and quality of life just because it might make me gain a few pounds would be crazy in itself. :] Thanks again for your helpful replies, and I really wish you all the best of luck! I'm really thankful for CC. |

Steph, good luck with your gaining. I just wanted to tell you that I have a weird nutritionist too....he knows why I am there (to gain after restricting) but he told me to eat 1500 calories a day and he seriously just printed out an about.com article about weight gain and gave it to me for advice!!! WTF I could have just gotten that myself! He also took all of my measurements and measured my bodyfat percentage, and it was 19%, and then he was saying weird stuff like "For instance, if you want to get your bodyfat down to, say, 15%, you'd have to lose 6 pounds of fat" blah blah! He kept going on about this kind of weird stuff, and about how I should be avoiding saturated fats, etc.....it was actually really triggering to me! I felt like he was telling me that I needed to LOSE weight. Do you have any other options for a nutritionist? Because the advice she gave you does sound weird, and if you and I did not come on CC to learn from other people who had to gain, we might be following that crazy advice right now instead of eating the 2500 calories we need. |

Eek, why is the laxative necessary if you're not constipated? Maybe you could talk to your mom and ask her to stock the house with some REAL food....any sane mother would understand....and I know she might be stuck in her bad habits but maybe you could be a good influence on her! I hope it all works out for you. PS- There is nothing wrong with eating chocolates and sweets in moderation! You sound like you're pretty hard on yourself with your strict exercise and diet regimen, maybe your cravings are your body's response to this. |

I just have to say, that I just looked at your pictures and you are SO beautiful!!! In my opinion, you don't need to lose 10 pounds at all!! You already look thin and losing ten more pounds will not "solve" any problems you feel like you have with your body, you will just keep finding more (I do this too...it sucks). Maybe you just have a mental image of yourself that is different from what you look like to others. If you were heavier before, do you think you possibly still view yourself that way? Because other people will not, that's for sure. Maybe you are binging because you are eating too little (1200 is not very much!) and you are stressing too much about losing the last bit of weight. Could you possibly be happy with your body as it is now? Maybe you could look into counseling as well, it can help a lot with your body image. I just started counseling and I feel better already...it's nice to be able to let your feelings out to someone who will not judge you, and can help you understand yourself more. Good luck, I hope you start feeling better soon!! You aren't in this alone ^.^ |

Haha, I suck at labs and I'm good at theoretical!! Weird! I am just too lazy for labs XD And yeah...studying all day really does suck....I am on spring break right now for a week, and I feel like there is suddenly no purpose to my life!! AHH! I don't know what to do with all this free time! (except eat :o ) hehe. So you eat the apples with the PB AND with cheddar?? How do you do that?? I am curious now :D Oh and that makeup mask and dancing idea is good...I will do that tonight maybe, I'll make good use of my big bathroom mirror ^.^ |

I am confused about what you're asking....are you asking if Crystal Light is making you gain weight? You also said you've been "eating like crazy these past few weeks" If you've gained it's because of the food, not the Crystal Light... If you're asking if it's "too much" then I don't know how anyone could answer that question...you didn't say how much you are drinking exactly. If you get enough water then I'm pretty sure it's not too much. I try to avoid artificial sweetners because they make me all bloaty and gross :) But if they don't hurt your stomach then I would think it's safe to say that it's better to be drinking Crystal Light rather than overeating for no reason. |

Haha, reading these replies is really funny, I am sitting here smiling :D I'd have infinite amounts of ice cream at my disposal. Vanilla, chocolate, cake batter, for example, with things to mix with it, like fresh chocolate chip cookies, or fresh brownies. With chocolate syrup. I would just eat that all day. When I'd get thirsty, I'd put ice cream in a blender with some milk and then drink to my heart's content. Mmmm ^.^ |

GRUYERE!! It smells SO BAD but it's pretty pungent and you don't have to eat much. It's so yummy!! It's not a "low cal" food but if you watch your portions, no food will "ruin" your diet! :D :D Oh and blue cheese is yummy ^.^ OH and goat cheese....yeah I love cheese if you can't tell! |

Oh cool, I like bio and psych too :] That's cool that you can harass your brother on text messaging, my sister probably wouldn't even respond to me :S haha! Hmmm, I don't have a dog to walk. My options are sleeping, eating more (bad idea probably), laying on the floor, putting on a bunch of crazy makeup (could scare my bf later!), shave my legs (i'm hairy like a sasquach), play the Sims (always feels like such a waste of time though), study for no apparent reason (bleh), check facebook, do some interpretive dancing, make a list of every kind of fruit I can think of.......... wow ok I sound so crazy. Being tired + bored brings out my wackiness! I am going to be all bloated later from all that food. BLEEAAGHHH!! Why did I boredom-eat??? I don't care about the calories since I'm trying to gain weight but I hate it when I'm bloated and my boyfriend touches my big belly, or when we're sitting around and my stomach starts making weird gurgly noises. Or squeaky noises. Yuck I am so gross X| |

I made mine when I was really young....I used to hate mexican food and my parents had it for dinner...and I was trying to come up with an AIM screenname while they were eating so I randomly chose it. Now I still use it because I think it's funny how people react to it...and I just can't think of a new one :] |
