I have tried the Chocolate Almond Breeze and to me it's not very good at all.

Lite Soy milk is great in cereal and other things, but some people don't like the taste of it. I drink soy milk b/c I follow a diet low in animal protein. It's very healthy.

If you are mostly a real milk drinker, try one serving of skim milk or 1%, with fresh ripe strawberries (blueberries are great too), and a little splenda. Put it in the blender and you'll have a nice sweet treat.

Weight Loss What if HUGH dinner and small breakfast?? Jun 17 2008

I was a swimmer in highschool and we had practice every morning and every evening. I ate breakfast twice, something small before practice and something more substatial after. I also ate a snack before evening practice and had dinner afterwards. I never had a problem with my weight. I was really thin b/c I kept my metabolism going all day. If you are going to exercise a lot, you have to eat to keep your body from burning up your muscle.

I have family members tell me how "unhealthy" it is for me.  How I'm not getting enough protein.  How bland my food must be.  They are wrong!  Hearing comments like this feels like being sucker punched while having a veggie sandwich.  Part of me does not want to respond because I never ask others to explain why they like to clog their arteries while they eat a steak.

I need pointers on how to defend my beliefs.  Any suggestions on how to deal with anti-vegetarians?  Without pissing anyone off or getting pissed?

I read the book The China Study. It's very informational and has over 20 years of science to back up the fact that animal protein is unhealthy for us. It actually promotes cancer growth. I became a vegan because of this. High cholesterol and cancer run in my family and I don't want to have to fight off those illnesses when I get older. I want to live as healthy and happy a life as possible.

Your family is just following the guidelines that have been drilled into them for years. Maybe if they knew the health benefits of a diet low in animal protein and if they learned that plants have protein too, they would be more understanding, and they may even want to follow in your footsteps.

Motivation Help...I'm Lazy! Jun 17 2008

When I am feeling a little lazy, I just walk. I walk away from my house for 20-30 minutes or so, then I turn around and come back. When you walk away from your house, you always have to walk back. So you can kind of trick yourself into doing more. It helps to have a friend with you. You can talk to that person while you walk, and you may even lose track of time. Before you know it, you'll have been walking for an hour or more.

When you start to see results, it may motivate you even more.

Good luck!
