Health & Support Weight Gained!?! :( Jul 08 2008

Thanks to everyone who responded. I read every bit of every post and am now inspeired anew. I am definitely going to try out some new recipies and looking around my local supermarket for things that arent only healthy, but are good as well. I know I love apples, grapes and watermelon so that CANT be the end of the good foods line. There has to be more out there. So thanks, gi-jane, for that idea. Also for the idea of getting a pedometer as well. I can get one of those anywher.

Thanks, justkeeprunning1 for the info on water weight, I had no idea. Now that I know I can pretty much guess why I weigh so much.

Thanks to everyone else, your words were very much helpful. I did get off track and binge on everything I could get my hands on (pretty much) for the last 24-48hrs but I actually liked the idea of losing weight and everything I did, I'll undo now that I have more things I can do to keep losing the weight.Laughing

I definetely got more attention when I was fit and healthy, than I do now. Even though im near maintainance now - weighing 103lbs, guys paid more attention to me when I weighed 120lbs. I had boobs, and an ass - and a nice waist.
Guys dont "dig" fat, or thin. They like fit and healthy. And girls like fit, healthy guys.

Thats why we're all here aiming for that level, arent we?
Because we know it definetely looks best. ;)

here here! :)

Well I guess it depends on where you are. In the down south states the guys like a girl w/ meat on her bones. More than that it's how you carry your weight. If your weight is all flabby and all over the place, of course guys  aren't going to be interested. But if it's nicely placed (like in the hips, butt and breasts) guys LOVE it. But again, it depends some on where you live. It also depends on what you dress like. I don't know about you guys but I don't know anyone who wants a gift in messed up wrapping.

About me: I'm going back to community college this fall. Right now I'm unemployed (hopefully that will change soon) so I have a lot of free time. I have problems with binge eating, and my BF works nights, so I'm looking for a buddy who will be online at night. I live in the Puget Sound area (WA) if that matters.

The following message goes for all of you. Feel free to IM me!Smile

I have a problem w/ binge eating too!! I'm available all night usually. Especially late night. If you have yahoo or AIM and you want to chat, let me know. Following are my screen names. You can just put those into an IM box and hit me up. Send me an email letting me know which one you'll be on because I am only on one at a time on my cell and it's usually Yahoo Messenger.

Hey girl,

My diet is just like yours.  Working where I work my schedule changes weekly and daily. One week I’ll work 1:8:30 and my breaks will be at different intervals between those hours every day. Another week I’ll end up working 3-11:30 and my breaks and lunches will be scattered between those hours M-F. Then I’ll pick up some OT on a Sunday and my hours will be between 3:30-7:30 and my one break will be a mystery kind of thing. My breaks and lunches are never the same twice, my sleep schedule- what sleep schedule??- and forget having a set time to eat. I skip breakfast because I’m always too tired to get up no matter how many hours of sleep I get; if I forget a lunch (and I usually do) I have to forage in the snack machine and all I end up eating is M&M’s (only thing I like- I’m picky) and drinking Pepsi; then for dinner I’ll hit McDonalds because it’s the only thing open by the time I get home. I never cook dinner because I can’t cook and don’t know what to make AND because I don’t have the time nor energy to actually MAKE dinner after work.

Now I have to figure out how to be healthy with such an unhealthy way of living. I do small things like stay away from burgers and fries at McDonalds. Now I eat their Ranch Chicken Wraps and drink their Sweet Tea. When I go out I try to find a salad somewhere. Unfortunately neither of those is working well ( I still weigh the same 217lbs) because the chicken wraps aren’t the healthiest and the salads I put lots of Italian dressing on.

I’ve decided that I’m going to manage the best I can and try to be strong enough to do the necessary. I won’t drink soda (easy), I won’t eat candy (easy) and I won’t buy the fattiest thing on the take out menus (difficult). I’ve decided to join a gym, get a personal trainer and take things from there. Unlike the poor souls that have set a goal for themselves and agonize over it; I don’t feel the need to lose a vast or certain amount of weight; I just need to loose enough to where I feel comfortable in my clothes. I don’t have a set weight goal because looking nice in my clothes could just be a matter of 10lbs instead of the 55 I need to be at 165. Losing weight for me is less stressful and doesn’t weigh so heavily on my mind because of that fact and my heart goes out to you women who feel the need to get to a certain weight. My advice is just to lose the weight without thinking about the NUMBERS you’re loosing and it will probably go a lot easier for you. I had to learn that lesson the hard way: spending years with a really bad case of low self-esteem. There is NO right size, it’s all about the way you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror.

Good luck to you. I hope your life gets a nice, even tone to it soon. Good luck to everyone on their quest to be fit!!

I am glad I found this post too!! I'm new to the site and was looking for some "friends" to work out with. I have a LOT of weight to lose and I'm bigger than all you guys but hey, like someone else said, this will work better w/ someone to work out with. So if anyone is interested send me a message and let me know. I'm available weekends. I have no membership to any gym though.

New Members 5'5" and 160 lbs....looking to lose 40 lbs....anyone with similar goals? Jun 20 2008

I just joined CC today. I'm looking to get to 160 by next June. I like having meat on my bones so I probably wont let myself get that small. My goal is based solely on what my body looks like at whatever weight; and how easy it is for me to find clothes. I don't feel the need to be skinny because I LOVE my curves!Smile I just want to look better in the clothes I'm wearing. Any encouragement would be nice and I offer encouragement to anyone who'd like it.

SmileName: 22

Current Weight: 217

Goal: 160 (by June 19, 2009)

Where: Rhode Island

I'm a college student. I'm not very active at all but I love to hang out. I just don't really have anyone to hang out with. Especially when all the people I know have different interests. Getting myself out of the house isn’t the issue, but let’s face it, most people find doing things like this easier when they have a buddy to do it with. My sisters are “big-boned” or “curvy” as well but aren’t as motivated as I am and my girlfriends aren’t “curvy”, aren’t close enough to see often or aren’t interested in the whole weight-loss thing.

I think it’s important that I do NOT have a problem with my size, weight nor the way my body looks with the exception of my thighs and stomach. My issue is in the fact that a size 16 isn’t the easiest to shop for. My clothes are either in the Jr.s Ms or Plus size department and I can never find the things I really want in either. I’m in between being the right size for any department and find I’m either too big or too small for any one section. So I started this weight loss goal to do 2 things. 1) Finally be able to go shopping in ONE specific department. 2) Finally be able to have clothes that go over my thighs, butt and hips AND fit my waist w/out a belt.

My Buddy/ Twin: Preferably another female close to my age or older that lives in Providence, Rhode Island or close to there so that we can actually exercise together and get to know each other. I’d like buddy I can actually form a friendship with. Doesn’t matter your weight goal but if we start and finish around the same time it’ll be all the more fun.

I live in New England (Rhode Island) and there really isnt a way to phrase it. I have definition where my curves are: big breasts, big hips, HUGH butt (nicely formed I might add) and guys love my assets. But then again I have big thighs (too large) and I have a stomach (flabny). Right now there are many guys interested. But, if I lost my stomach and got rid of the thighs (to a degree) I'm pretty sure I would drive the guys crazy w/ my D chest, big hips and nice butt. Curvy women are definitely IN these days, like you said it's just in what your "curves" look like. If you're short and fat you have almost no chance. But tall (5'6) and "curvy" (215) like me doesn't look that bad. It's all in what men prefer (as INDIVIDUALS); how you wear your weight; how you carry yourself; and what type of frame you have. WHAT YOU WEAR has a lot to do with it too. Present yourself well, show some self-esteem and you'll do fine. I've seen women WAY bigger than me that work it and look gorgeous doing it fat stomach, big thighs and all.
