Let's get you out of those wet clothes.... I want to kiss you passionately on the lips, and then move up to your belly-button.

I laughed so hard I crashed my spaceship...

I don't know if he's only well-known in the US, or if I'm just a stupid, uninformed person, but I've never even heard of him...

Who is he and what did he do?

(I get the main idea about him being racist, but that's probably not the whole story XD)

I talk to myself XD

And I spend my time looking at all the labels on food, so I can plan what I'm going to eat without everybody knowing that I'm a portion control freak ^^

To keep me from eating, I also spend some time on the forum... But I don't really like eating when I'm alone, anyway, because it makes me feel fat... =D

What else? Sometimes I sing along with the music I'm listening to, but I don't really dare to run around naked because I'm scared that somebody might come home early! ^-^

I have exactly the same problem as you do, I'm on exchange as well, and gained a few pounds, although I don't even have scales to find out exactly how much I gained, which makes it even harder.

I can understand that you want to lose what you gained, and I can definitely understand that you want to look the same when you come back home (I'm not looking forward to possible pitiful looks saying "don't worry, it's normal to gain weight when you're on exchange" :S) but in your case I really think you should stay where you are (in terms of your weight xD).

You might see it as unnecessary weight gain on your exchange, but actually you only gained weight that your body needs, so your actually much healthier now, and you should be proud of that!

It's a pity that you can only use it in the US :(

Are you planning to make it available in Australia and Europe, too?

Weight Loss Diet Drinks Jun 24 2008

I just know that apparently they make you eat more because they whet your appetite.

However, when I heard that I completely stopped consuming them, and I didn't really notice a change in my eating behaviour apart from that.

It might be sensible to cut down your amount of diet pops, but I don't think you have to stop drinking the completely!

It does definitely work ;)

Your body needs at least 1,200 calories a day to work properly, if he gets less than that, he starts burning less and storing more fat. You will never be able to perform as well as with enough nutrition, and as soon as you eat a little bit more, you will immediately start gaining weight.

So if you start eating 1,200 calories a day, your body will soon get used to more food and burn more calories. You will still have a calorie deficit, though, so you will still lose weight!

I can't actually say anything from personal experience, but if your doctor is an ED specialist, I'm pretty sure that he will choose medication that doesn't affect your weight in any way because he should know what that would mean to you.

A friend of mine has been extremely overweight, but she started losing weight about a year ago. Somewhere in between, she started taking medication against anxiety, and she hasn't gained any weight due to that!

If you're still unsure, why don't you just ask your doctor about it? Ask him to explain exactly what the medication does and if there is any way that it could influence your weight. He as you doctor has to answer these questions truthfully!

I used to drink a lot of that, and I also always put sweetener rather then sugar in my tea/coffee.

But then I read that sweetener may not have as many calories, but it makes you eat more! So I tried to drink coffee and tea with neither sugar nor sweetener and only had diet drinks every once in a while...

I don't really know if I started eating less due to that, because at the same time I moved to Australia, so there are a lot of other factors which may have had an influence on that, and I actually think I ate more.

However, I still don't drink as many diet drinks as before and I aim to keep it that way, just because of a natural suspicion about chemicals ^^ Plus, if you don't have them that often, you can enjoy them much more when you have them!

Weight Loss Best Time of Day to Weigh? Jun 22 2008

The best time is, I think, in the mornings before breakfast.

If you do it at any other time, your results will vary due to other factors like what, how much and how long ago you ate.

My psychology teacher is about the same age as you, and she looks like about 13 years, too! Because she is working in a school, she is also being mistaken as a student on a daily basis, just imagine how annoying that must be!

But, and that's a big but: She just married!

So, you see, if she managed to find a boyfriend, and even marry him, so can you!

And I hate to be repetitive, but I can only agree with all the other people here: You have to like yourself first before you can expect men to like you. How are they supposed to see the good things about you, if even you don't notice them? (And with this, I'm NOT saying there are no good things, of course!!!)

You could probably just apply the general rule that you don't do anything to people what you wouldn't feel comfortable with. So ask yourself, would you mind if people stare at you in the gym? If yes, then don't do that to other people.

On the other hand, if there are girls who look like they actually just wanted to show off and are perfectly styled, they probably don't really mind you staring at them, because that's exactly what they want. However, girls that are red in their faces, sweating, etc. or just don't look their best in the gym (which is perfectly normal), will probably not be so happy about you staring at them!

I don't know if anybody has already said that, but you could have creamed rice ^^

And there are basically so many things you can have, like soups and smoothies, and they can have so many different flavours, that you wouldn't get bored.

Oh, and chocolate mousse. I'd be grateful for an excuse to eat that all the time xD

I wish I could do this as I have issues with binging.  Unfortunately for me, I still live at home with my parents and they buy what they please.

I can understand your issue!

For me, it's even worse, because I'm living with a host family at the moment, and when I go to the supermarket with them, they buy everything I look at for more than like two seconds (which is why I try to avoid going to the supermarket with them).

And while I could ask my parents not to buy certain things, or lock them away from me, I just don't want to ask my host parents, I would be too embarrassed...

Anyway, back to the point, the things I have issues with (and that I wouldn't buy) are - believe it or not - seeds and nuts. Once I started eating them, I just can't stop. Same thing with Muesli that contains nuts or dried fruit - it's addictive! I also hate it when we are having dinner and they leave things on the table for hours and we just sit there and talk, because if food that I just had, is still left over, I will keep eating eat. It's different when I haven't eaten anything for a little while (ten minutes or so is enough), then they don't tempt me at all.

I found that it's good if I have leftovers for lunch, because then I can determine the serving size before I reheat it. And when I'm finished and want more, I can't be bothered to wait until I have reheated another plate (although it's only like one or two minutes), and so I don't eat anymore...!

I never feel the urge to get Junk Food at Mc Donald's etc., but whenever I see the ads, I really really want to try whatever they advertise. But five minutes later (or less) I can't even remember why I would want it...

So thank god that I don't live close to a Mc Donald's, because I'm sure I would go there after I see an ad like that, and buy food that I have to eat after that, although I don't even really want it anymore (especially because they NEVER look like in the ads)!

What you wrote is really, really good advice, thanks for that!

I tend to be one of those people that want to do everything at once, so I exercise too much, and then stop doing, because of course it's no fun exercising when everything hurts. And whenever I try to 'take it slow', and start with easier things, I feel that it's not enough and not worth the effort because it won't do anything...

Motivation BINGEING support group Jun 21 2008

I hate the fact that sometimes, I'm not even really hungry, or I don't even want to eat, but I don't want to skip a meal, either, because I know it's not healthy. So I get something to eat, but once I start eating, I just can't stop!

I wanna get more and more and while I'm eating something, I'm already thinking about what I could eat next.

However, if something distracts me from eating for just like 10 minutes or so, I don't want to go back to eating. You could bring me the most delicious temptation, and I wouldn't find it hard to resist.

It's just this little time that I need to stop bingeing. Or other people around me, because I'm embarrassed to get up and get more to eat, when there are other people around.

Motivation How did you keep yourself going in the beginning? Jun 21 2008

I think I just avoided mirrors for a long time when I started.

I remember one day when I looked in the mirror properly for the first time, and actually saw how my shape had changed!

Because, just like when you're gaining weight, you don't really notice it because you see yourself all the time and don't notice slight changes. However, if you don't really see yourself for a while, even small changes are actually visible to you, which is quite good for your motivation.

Weight Loss Biggest meal at breakfast? Really? Jun 20 2008

Original Post by ser25:

Look at the study details. They used obese women and fed them either ~1000 or ~1200 calories a day. This is almost certainly a deficit greater than 1000 calories, even if they were all sedentary!

This study doesn't prove anything. The greater success of the "big breakfast group" could be because they were getting more complete nutrition and the diet was more sustainable. They need to do more studies with male and female subjects at a variety of weights and a variety of calorie intake levels to be able to say "big breakfasts help weight loss". They identified a correlation, not a cause-and-effect relationship.

I totally agree with you!

They should have a study where both groups have exactly the same calorie intake and the only thing that is different is the timing of the main meal...

Apart from that, I can say from personal experience that a big breakfast is better than a big dinner. When I was living in Germany, I had my main meal at lunchtime, and only a very light dinner. Now that I am in Australia, it's just the other way round and I put on a few pounds...

Weight Loss Females... The perfect body? Jun 20 2008

Unfortunately, I find that this is one of the things that is easily said but harder to put into action. Basically, I do know about Airbrush and that there is no such thing as a perfect body, but on the other hand there is always this voice in my head that tells me that the media is right and I should be skinny...

I also think that women shouldn't try to change their shape in order to find a guy, they should only do it when they are not comfortable with the way they look...!!!

I liked that article... I kind of relieves me because I'm kind of a lazy person who rather eats less than exercises more (although that doesn't mean that I don't exercise at all). Good to know, that this is a more effective approach anyway ^^
