if you look under "tools" you can calculate how much you burn each day and how much you should consume.
Weight Loss frustration... Apr 19 2006

I started being healthy on Jan. 1st but started this site in Feb. I lost 20 pounds but gained back 3 pounds during Easter weekend for a total of 17 pounds gone. You will have those weekend where you make bad choices and gain some weight but don't let it get you down. This is a new week and I am back working hard. I have faith that those 3 pounds will be gone by the end of next week and then I have about 10 more pounds to reach my goal. Good luck and never give up, every day is a new day!
Weight Loss What's a normal amount of carbs to have in a day? Apr 19 2006

I aim for 20% fat, 30% protien, and 50% carbs. Everyone does a little different, usually carbs are 40-60%.

Hi Tammy, sorry to hear about your knees. Have you tried the elliptical? It's almost summer time, how about a nice long swim in the cool refreshing pool.
Weight Loss L.A. Weight Loss or Weight watchers??? Apr 19 2006

I did LA Weightloss for 6 months and only lost 15 pounds in the first 2 months. It was awful, I felt tiered and dizzy all the time! It was also very expensive. Why do you need to do one of these programs? Just use this site. I have lost 20 pounds in the past 3 months and I feel great. I get to make my own food choices and love it. I hate how LA tells you that you can be "free to live your life" that's such bull %$@*. You have to eat certain foods off thier list and only specified amounts, doesn't seem very free to live to me.
Weight Loss Look at my today's intake of food. What I'm doing wrong? Apr 19 2006

wow, what did you eat? I don't like my fat to go over 20% and you need to get that protien up especially if your working out. Sodium 5273? That's more then I eat in 3 days. Hey, we all have our off days, tomorrow is a new day.

The Lounge Trim Spa Apr 19 2006
19:09 (UTC)
Trim Spa is actually a diet pill, not a supplement. I took it for a couple months but it made me too sick (I can't handle caffine and other stimulants). now I take Oxe slim which is only a supplement (just vitamins and non-stimulating herbs) I haven't had any bad side effects from it. Just remember, your losing the weight from the exercise not the pill.

I would increase your calories to 1200 but also increase your exercise!!! You need to be doing at least 30min. of cardio and 1 mile just doesn't cut it. Hope that doesn't sound rude, it's the exercise maniac in me. I do about 45 min. of cardio 6 days a week + weight training.

WOH, 4,000. that's way too much. It should be about 2,400 but I try to stay below 2,000.

I don't do alcohol with my diet now either, every time I drink I gain weight. I only have a small glass of wine now and then. I do 20% fat, 30% protien, and 50% carbs. Everyone does a little different but I have found this works best for me.

I eat 4 egg whites every day. I have been told by a nutritionist that as long as I am not eating the yolk, 4 a day is fine.

Weight Loss allowance or expenditure? Apr 14 2006
02:21 (UTC)
I believe running only 2 hours a day 7 days a week is still "light activity". very active would be if your are a football player and play everyday or if you train for marathons every day. I run for 50 min. 6 days a week and do weight training 4 days a week and do pilates/yoga for 3 days a week and consider myself to be light activity.
The Lounge scales Apr 14 2006
02:13 (UTC)
I love my Tanita BC-534 scale. measures my weight, body fat %, water%, bone mass, metabolic age, and tells me the calories to maintain weight. I think I paid about $90 for it but they make less expensive models.
The Lounge How did you meet your husband/wife/fiance(e)/SO?? Apr 05 2006

just-bethy, all I can say is.....OMG! if you can make it through that you can make it through anything.

How I met my hubby: I had just broked up with a guy who I was with for 7 years. I was 24 and single. My best friend suggested that we throw a huge "Pimp and Ho" party to celebrate being single. You know, the kind of party where all the men dress up like 70's pimps and the women dress up like Ho's. Arthur (my hubby) was working at the same place I was and I invited him to the party and that's how we met. He likes to joke around with people and tell them that when he met me I was wearing a corset with leapord thong panties and fish net stockings. LOL.

Why not both? I love my digital because it fits in my purse or pocket and it's great for those day to day photo's. but, i have to have the 35mm for those nice vacation pics or portraits, quality close-ups. I have just given up my "art" photography, just sold my old pentax 1000 SLR, that I took black and whites with and developed myself. Expensive hobby. I'm going to miss it. I no longer have access to a dark room, oh well.
