| Health & Support | Lost control when eating a glazed donut.....help! | Oct 06 2009 14:31 (UTC) |

I think that having a donut or anything like that once in awhile is good for you! Especially if you are struggling with an ED, you should be proud of your self for having 1 donut and really feeling what it is like to just be ok with having a treat. Maybe try to flip it emotionally to see the positives. 1) you got to eat a donut- yum! 2) you stopped at 1- very normal food habbit! 3)it could help your gain-yeah! 4)you didn't have to throw out food! 5)you were in total control by eating 1 donut and enjoying it's texture and taste- many people cant even enjoy their food-great! Dont freak out. Eating clean is important for the majority of your food- but having conventional and "bad" food is just part of a well-balanced, happy and social life. |

That is a deal breaker- you may love each other but you have different wants and needs. In the long run it will ruin your relationship and cause major resentments on both sides. Just be clear with him that you feel that way and you do not ever see it changing.
You don't need to feel badly for not wanting kids- a lot of people choose that path these days and the world is already over populated so don't sweat it! You can to decide what you can do and what you want to do- if you change your mind in the future you can always have a child later in life. For now it is just best to be honest and upfront so neither of you stay in a relationship that wont fulfill your long terms desires.

Just tell him the truth. "Hey- it seems like you don't want to spend time at my place, what's up with that?" Then make a plan- at least once a week at your place or whatever and if he doesnt stick to that or even entertain it then he is not really interested in being a or your "boyfriend". Life is way to short to be with guys that wont participate in the relationship- you deserve someone who is into you enough to collaborate with you. |

| Weight Loss | why am i always hungry this week? | Jul 15 2009 12:44 (UTC) |

Hey me too! I totally broke my diet calorie limit this week and have been eating quite a bit. For me it is a mix of stress at work, new puppy waking me up way too early and that special time of the month. All of those things make me hungry- but really exercise is a better choice for all of them( well maybe not the puppy!). Last night my husband made brownies- I had to go to be at 9:30 so I would stop eating them! Im going to the gym tonight to get rid of the triggers that I have control over- that usually helps to get me back in line with the foods that actually make me feel good.

| Weight Loss | is 5'10" and 140 lbs fat? | Jul 12 2009 04:05 (UTC) |

no- you are thin for 5'10.
140 is a great weight for 5"10- but everyone is different. For some 5'10 woman that is too low even.
I am 5'10 and my goal is 140- Im at 143 right now. Some days I feel a bit big- but my body fat is 21% and the only really chubby part is my hip measurements. I think that may be something that I just accept about myself- or else my top half will be a skeleton!
If you feel fat- maybe just start working out and eat based on your maintenance calories- that way you will tone up and feel better but not drop excessive weight and become too skinny.

El-lady! We have similar measurments. I have 40 hips too. Its so tough since the top half can look skinny but the bottom is still a size 10! I lost a few more pounds over the last 2 weeks but mostly from my top half!
I havent been to the gym in a month-and work has been crazy stressful but I need to go back. I want to loose another % of body fat before the summer is over!
Im happy that there is more action here now! Welcome to everyone new- Im new too!

| Weight Loss | How to eat less when other people tell you to eat more | Jul 07 2009 03:17 (UTC) |

2 pieces of pizza is great will power! you could let them know that 2 is enough for you to feel full. Or you could say cheese makes you feel bloated so you try to limit it and/or you had a snack before you came. Or you could just tell them the 2 slices is almost 1000 calories and you have another big meal to eat tonight!
hope that helps! |

| Motivation | 5'9" - 5'10" Females?? What size are you? | Jul 05 2009 04:58 (UTC) |

Im 5'10 and weight 144.
All of my pants are a size 10, but they are a bit big now! I guess I am an 8. I dont have much more weight to spare... my hip bones are sticking out a bit! My goal is about 4 more pounds. I wish I could be a size 6- I know that size doesn't matter, but it would be so great to have a size 6 in my closet! I am jealous of you tall ladies with slim hips!! |

I think that it would be best to eat something small upon waking to rev up the metabolism- then she can eat her "larger" breakfast after the run. I used to do what she was doing- and once I started to eat a bit before my morning walk I was able to loose weight more quickly!

nice work!! 148 is awesome. Thanks for the measurements... it help to set a goal for myself. most of my friends have 34-36 hips so I want to be realistic about my height and hip possibility!
Thanks for the congrats on my weight loss... it feels great and I cant wait to hit 140. I feel way better and more confident all of the time. But it is hard to remember what I looked or felt like at 170 or even 155.... I guess when you are tall the weight just spreads out so much! Anyways, the love handles are gone and I am so happy to not have 44" hips anymore...yikes!! |

This is the best topic! I can 100% relate to everyone. How annoying is it to have to people tell you not to loose weight when you know that you are clearly overweight. I am 5"10 too.
Started at 168 1.5 years ago and lost 13 pounds. Stayed at 155 for about a year or more and about 4 months ago started seriously with Calorie Counter. Now I am at 146. I have bee maintaining that for about 3 weeks but I am ready to loose again. I am hoping to hit 140 and stay there ( I was 130 too in my early 20's). My biggest issue is my pear shape, my top half gets pretty thin ( which makes people think that my diet is crazy), but my bottom half looses slowly and has stayed chubby! My measurements are:
Bust -35 Waist -29 Hips(biggest part)-41
Body Fat -23%
If you guys dont mind can you share your measurements? Im always curious about 5"10 people and hip measurements so I can make an achievable goal.
My real goal is to hit about 38 around the hips through diet and exercise! I'll keep everyone posted.
Thanks!! |
