I personally think it may be the creatine capsules.  Try cutting them out for a week or two.  My husband has tried all kinds of supplements and he often experiences weird reactions...your flu like symptoms may be a reaction to that specific brand of creatine.  Just an idea.

Definitely option 2.  You will build more muscle and muscle burns calories :).

A friend of a friend of mine just died from bulimia.  I would rather be heavier than dead.  Eat maintenance calories and exercise daily...the weight will come off slowly, but it will stay off.  Best of luck to you.  It's all about self control.  You can do it the healthy way.

You did it once, you can do it again.  Just remember that this is a lifestyle change.  Commit to it.  You will never be able to eat like you once did unless you decide that you are satisfied with being that weight.

I've been at this for a year now and have lost 15 pounds.  It was a very slow process for me.  I never let myself slip for more than a week or two.  When those slips happened, I worked extra hard the next two weeks to make up for it.  It's very hard work, but if you loose slow and steady, it will stay off for good.  You've done it once, you can do it again...and even better this time.  Best of luck to you.

"It is what it is" or "I know, right"

I think these phrases became popular after the girls on The Hills started using them.  Now, girls are walking around saying really stupid things like "My car broke down today, but it is what it is".  So irritating!!!  What does that even mean?!  And, "I know, right" doesn't make sense.  You're telling someone that you agree with them, and then your asking them if they agree with you?  Totally circular.

I just had blood work done last weekend and they told me only water...I asked if black coffee was o.k. and they said no.  If you do it the right way, you'll save yourself time and trouble in the long run.  Don't waste your time fasting and having blood drawn if your going to skew the results.  It's no biggie...schedule it early and then you can drink coffee and eat a nice breakfast by 9:00am...you'll be fine.

Health & Support I need immediate help, experiences, advice...bloated out of control and doctor doesn't seem to be concerned! May 05 2009

It's been 7 days now, and I haven't been doing anything differently.  I'm not in recovery...I don't have an ed.  I eat anywhere from 1200-1700 (maintenance) during the week, and sometimes eat as much as 2200 on the weekends.  My diet hasn't changed at all though.  My stomach has been hurting since yesterday...it kind of feels like what the stomache flu feels like, but I'm not sick and it's been 7 days.  Shouldn't I be getting better if I have a bug?  I'm actually relieved to have some pain...at least it feels like there is a reason for the gigantic bloat now.

I ate lightly yesterday and then had a normal dinner because I was SO hungry...only to blow up like a ballon again.  My morning stomach is now like my night stomach used to be...and my night stomach is bloated low and mid tummy and pretty firm to the touch.  I'm not eating until noon so that my stomach can relax a little, and then I'm going to have chicken corn chowder and grapes for lunch...which are supposed to be a gas/bloat free foods.

I guess I'll give it a few more days and treat it like a virus.  Does this sound like anything to anyone?  An ulcer etc.?

Thanks for everyones advice and support so far, it's really helping me relax a little...but I'm still worried :(.  You guys are the best though.

I just had my blood drawn over the weekend.  I was told to fast for 12 hours.  It's no big deal.  I didn't eat after 9:00pm and then I had the test around 10:00am...I don't eat between those hours anyway.

I was just at the doctor's office, and I had low blood pressure.  My doc said that it was most likely due to dehydration, since my blood pressure is usually perfect.  He said that I'm not drinking enough water.  I had know idea that water could change my blood pressure!  Maybe that would help get the point across?

I know what you mean. I don't dislike people because of their size but what does annoy me is how people have made being fat acceptable. It's not. It's extremely unhealthy.......

Boy am I ever with many of you on this topic!  Know what?  When I was 400 pounds, I REALLY hated fat people!  I've learned to be more acceptable now, but I'm still judgemental.

As misscherryjane pointed out, and I agree with her 100%, it annoys me how people are making fat acceptable!

As an once morbidly obese person, I can honestly say that I often fell into the Big Beautiful Woman trap!  I was miserable as a fat person and constantly lying to myself about my weight.  "Oh..... I'm obese but I'm healthy.  I can get around just fine, thank you very much."  Etc.  You all know the excuses I'm talking about.

When I'm around an obese person now, I'm overly critical and just want to walk over to them and tell them to do something about it!  But I also know that we all have our own demons to face and losing weight is NOT an easy thing to do.  It's easy in theory, but in practice it takes a lot of work.  And then there is the whole issue with society and how obese people are treated.  They have enough problems without having me butt into their business.

The best I can do is post my before/after pics on here to serve as motivation for others, and to offer my support when someone asks for advice.

As for people who are too skinny?  I look at them as if they have a disease and hope that they are getting help.  This whole weight business is a contradictory thing, isn't it?!!!

I just wanted to tell you that you look AMAZING!!!  I'm sure that those pictures will be motivation to many who see them.  Good work!

Pregnancy & Parenting Baby Showers Apr 16 2009

This idea is very time consuming, but since your sis-in-law is sentimental...I think she might like it...

I made my sister a scrapbook of her own baby pictures to pass around at the shower.  It was my sister's first pregnancy, and I thought that seeing old pictures of how cute she was might help her get excited about meeting her own little bundle.  It was a big hit and I personally think that it's one of the best gifts anyone could receive.

I borrowed a bunch of old pictures from my mom's collection and scanned and reproduced them at Wal-mart.  The scrapbook told the story of my sister's life up until her pregnancy, but was more focused on her first three years of life.

If you're not a scrapbooker (or don't have that much time), you can buy premade pages at most craft stores...and all you'll need to do it stick pictures in the empty spaces.

The Lounge Homemade gifts: unique and thoughtful, or just a cheap cop-out? Mar 25 2009

The homemade gifts I make usually cost more than just buying something.

I made my sister a scrapbook with scanned baby pictures of herself for her Baby Shower...it ended up costing me $50+ for supplies and took a week of my time...and I mean 3-4 hours after work every night!  I also bought her a regular gift.

I hope that people don't think of my gifts that way.  That would really hurt my feelings.  Then again, I only invest my time in gifts for people that I know will appreciate them.

Maintaining anyone who has STOPPED counting, with success? Mar 19 2009

My life is a little too busy at times to be constantly logging, so I take breaks from it for weeks or months at a time.  I'm able to maintain, but I must admit that I still mentally calculate.  I'm sure it's not very accurate, but it gives me a rough estimate.  I have maintained, and perhaps even lost a bit...at least that's what someone told me today :).  I definitely don't eat whatever I want though.  If I did, I would surely gain.  I have chose to make this a way of life.  I log for a week or two every now and then just to make sure that I'm staying on track.

Sometimes I think I eat more when I'm logging.

Maybe some people fight harder for their lives because they feel as if they haven't yet done enough to ensure salvation.  Maybe they want to buy a little extra time to pray, repent, etc.

Makes sense to me, although I'm sure some will disagree.

Yeah, I had considered Mexico, too, but my boyfriend said he's heard about a lot going on with abductions lately. But I'm sure it just depends on where you go. The Yucatan Peninsula would probably be ok.

You might want to think twice about that, there was an "incident" at the Cancun airport recently.  I love Mexico and travel there almost anually, but even I'll be skipping my visit this year.

I'm glad that you're feeling better.

You're flirting with disaster and should completely stay away from alcohol in the future.  You're behavior wasn't normal in the least, which puts you in a very high risk category.  Take care of yourself.

Foods canned fruit Mar 16 2009

I asked this same question about a year ago.  Based on my responses, it seemed that the syrup is added into the calories (i.e. if you ate the fruit and drank the syrup your calories consumed would be as stated).  So, I would estimate a good 60 calorie reduction from draining and rinsing the fruit.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that money would be the most appreciated.  Maybe I'll just get him a little something and then give them some money to put into his savings account.  I was thinking about having a piggy bank personalized for him, but I don't have enough time to order anything online :(.  Maybe I'll do a little shopping this weekend to see what I can find.  Thanks for your help!!!

Motivation Bikinis-- How To Have The Guts to Wear Them? Mar 05 2009

I don't really have any advice, but I just wanted to let you know that even women who have been thin their entire lives have a problem wearing (and feeling comfortable) in a bikini.  I seriously dread the first time I have to wear one every year!

After you have it on for 15 minutes, you'll feel more comfortable.  For me, it's the initial taking off of my sundress (or whatever) that's the hardest part...and I probably look pretty good to most people.  So, you're not alone.  Just try to fake the confidence until you're able to acquire the real thing :).

Have a great trip...I'm sure you'll be looking beautiful!
