Original Post by kd-lyn: thanks!! For a white cake mix (a little different than the usual "gold" or "yellow" cake) you can either use 4 egg whites or 3 whole eggs, so I'm opting for the whites..... most yellow cake or chocolate cake mixes have cholesteral free directions in small print that use egg whites too. |

thanks everyone!! all the suggestions/support/websites/etc. are great!!!!!!, and it seems like the miralax is helping move things along without the cramping that I got with stool softner(definitely a relief). I've been taking it in Iced tea and dont taste it at all without any texture or anything (a reason i didn't like Benefiber). Thanks again!!! |

I had one today.... I had some different snack foods in the car, little packs of Chickadees (like goldfish) and Peanut Butter Filled Pretzals.....I opened all the little packs and I dumped them all into a plastic grocery bag, crunched them up and poured water on them.
Now just to avoid my parents' anneversary cake (which unfortunately can't be thrown out....) |

| Weight Loss | Anyone else a 34d? | Aug 27 2008 00:04 (UTC) |

*sigh* Life (bra wise) was so much easier when I was a 38dd Now I'm a 34dd, sometimes a 34d. I've ordered from Fredricks of Hollywood, they were 2/$48 and they are pretty good. I stock up on VS when they have their semi-annual sale. Forget browsing the store when the sale is on, go straight to their website and order their. Get a normally $45 for $22, that kind of thing. Also I've gotten 34D at Walmart for like $7 each and they're excellent. Hmm, also try JcPenney (ambrielle) and Macys too. |

not sure about the bars, but I was not a fan of the All Bran drinks in Iced Tea flavor. It, of course, could have just been the flavor but I didn't like it at all. I had the box so I tried to have one a day, it didn't help with constipation, it just made me gassy. (TMI sry) |

it is possible to have the virus that causes mono to lie dormant in your system and then "out of nowhere" flare up. another thing to be tested for is Lyme Disease as one of the main and most common symptoms is fatigue. the iron deficiency is definitely something to check out too!! |

| Health & Support | How to keep my troublesome gall bladder going for a few months... | Jul 10 2008 05:07 (UTC) |
|
Never had gall stones, but had my "low functioning" gall bladder removed in Decemeber. Here are a few tips:: **Restrict oily/greasy/fatty foods-- even good fats (like olive oil, peanut butter, etc)!! Since the gall bladder's main function is to process oily/greasy/fatty things, eating them can cause flare ups. **Restrict spicy foods as they can be hard to digest, same for "heavy" foods (creamy things, etc) **On days that you have flare ups, switch to clear liquids-- chicken broth, beef broth, tea (no milk!), clear juices, etc.... each time I went to the hospital this is what they had me do **Find out your trigger foods- for me it was white potatoes, most dairy, etc.... They can vary from person to person, so log what you eat to keep track if certain foods trigger a flare up. **Heat packs!!! get a microwavable one, thermacare disposables(those these can be $$), or get all DIY and make your own. The heat can ease the painful muscle contractions around the gallbladder. (Another thing they did in the ER for me) **Similarly some people find cold packs help (thats how my mother was), play around and find the right combination. **Rehydration. A) make sure you drink lots of water, avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners when you can (as these too commonly trigger flare ups).......B) if you feel like you are getting dehydrated (espcially if your flare ups cause vomitting or bowel problems- loose or very solid), get rehydrated, yes by an IV. It can help sooooooo much!!!!! |

| Foods | healthy frozen pizzas? | Jun 26 2008 21:56 (UTC) |
18 |
You could always make your own homemade pizza. Find a dough recipe, use some basic tomato sauce (or even just some crushed tomatoes with a little garlic and oregano) and fat free mozzarella or 2% milk lowfat cheddar. To make it even healthier add some spinich or broccoli and grilled chicken on top, or try a veggie pizza. Avoid fatty toppings like pepperoni or sausage. Add a bit of oregano or pepper flakes for some kick. There are things like Stouffers Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice pizzas, but they really arent that much bigger than a normal slice of pizza and have higher calories(in some cases) plus very high sodium (28% of the recommended daily intake). Also, If you are really craving the "family pizza" just eat one slice (you could order it light on the cheese to help with the fat) and load up on salad (be careful of alot of dressing though) to fill you up. Its ok to indulge a little every once and a while, it won't kill your efforts!!!
