I consider myself recovered, and I DO believe that you can ABSOLUTELY be fully recovered. Honestly, you do not hear a lot of success stories, but it is possible. Some people think that you just have to live with it. Do not settle for that :) Just fight; it is hard, but oh so worth it :) Life is meant to be enjoyed! <3 ~psychoj |

1) what's your favorite flavour of frosted mini-wheat?: probably bite sized plain 2) what's your favorite flavour of special k cereal?: when I was anorexic, I used to have the red berries kind almost every single day! So now they bring back awful memories and I do not eat them and haven't eaten them in forever :-) 3) what's your favorite kind of berry?: how can you choose??!! Personally I would definitely pick the gym! I love my gym sooo much and it can really pump you up/make you work harder with other people there. I hate working out by myself, esp. in my house! My gym is very nice though: each cardio machine has a personal tv, channels, kids area, big tvs on the walls, weight area, free weights area, tons of cardio equipment, etc! I love it!!! Go for the gym :-) But that is just my opinion ;-)

Slr-Do not worry about sugar too much :D Just focus on getting enough calories. You will not die from an overdose of sugar from dried fruit. Trust me, I ate LOADS of it during weight gain and I am still here! Dried fruit+me=HAPPY JESS :D |

Around 2 weeks with the pain through my leg. Before that, a few months with the "real" knee pain, but I worked through that and it recovered. I am just mad that I keep getting injured and am trying to figure out how to exercise smarter! Thanks for replying! |

Aquaev-Holy smokes, CONGRATS! That sounds like an amazing night! Wish we could have all been there with you...You are right! We can eat like that and NOT gain weight. Now if we do every moment of the day then...But amazing job! I think that was a HUGE step :D This week has been sort of the same. Been taking it easy b/c of the leg, but I have been super hungry/just wanting food!!! And, I've been giving into my needs b/c it is my body talking! I am going through a "growing time." People have been commenting that I seem to be taller :] We deserve treats! Great job and congrats again! Agruskin-I (we) will miss you!!! Best of luck xxx Aussie-Sorry to hear about the back. Take it from someone who has had terrible back problems, I understand, but it will get better if you just REST AND RICE :] But maybe go to the doc too? Lulu-Have fun but do not back down! Hey everyone! I just read all three pages of this and I find it extremely helpful and positive. But I have a few questions about myself :) I am exercise fanatic! I love my gym, playing basketball/soccer/volleyball. You name it, I'll try it and most likely love it! You all may have remembered that a while back I had very bad knee issues in both knees (Chondromalacia, Osgood Schlaters(sp?), and some tendonitis) I had previously been a big runner, for 4-6 miles. I went to the orthopedist and I loved it there. I now have specific orthopedics, been to physical therapist, and for around a month or two I was "back to normal." Then during a soccer game I got hit HARD with a soccer ball on the right side of my right knee. (I was not IN the game, but at half time we went out to play) Ever since, I have had pain from my butt down through my hamstring, all the way through my calves and sometimes to the foot. I do not think the soccer ball caused it or not, but I do not know...I have done hours of research and it might be my sciatic nerve, or something else. I have also been growing lately and have been extra hungry and tired. Many people have commented on my growth and how I appear taller. Therefore it might be just that I am growing and need to rest. I have read all the suggestions by the OP and I have done most of that stuff. I really want to try yoga and my gym offers yoga classes as well as Body FLOW classes. They are like Pilates/yoga mixed. Okay, I need to stop talking :P But, what should I do??? Thanks in advance! <3 jess |

Food update only...sorry, but I will reply later :] Breakfast-Whole Grain Zucchini Bread w/ smart balance; organic apple Lunch-Chicken salad sandwich (chicken breast, light mayo, worcestershire, salt and pepper, fresh basil, green apple pieces, and of course whole wheat bread!); apple; (all natural) pretzels After lunch I cleaned up the kitchen and decided to bake something, so I made whole wheat cupcakes w/ chocolate butter cream frosting/powdered(sp?) sugar and they are AMAZING! They smell like allspice and cinnamon... Snacks-Cupcake w/frosting (they are small and shaped like stars b/c I used star shaped tins!); apple |

Hey girlies! Life is sooo busy, ahh...Really sorry that I have not posted in a while. I really need to get into a routine so I will be able to fit in time for posting on here :) I am doing really well though! Food just isn't an issue. I mean, I am still a HUGE healthy eater/nutrition lover as well as exercise psychoj (hence the name), but I am not longer obsessive. I have maintained my weight for oh I don't know, 3 months? Have not been to the nutritionist/counselor in it seems like forever.(praise the Lord) I need updates on all of you! Lol. Oh and one more thing. My knee issues/pain have been gone for awhile until about a couple days ago when I got hit in the side of my right leg (around the knee area) and the pain is behind my (right) knee and the sides of my lower legs down to my shins and further. Hopefully that made sense. I think I tore something, but if anyone has any comments/suggestions they would be much appreciated! I am probably going to have to go back to my orthopedic place and see what I did to myself. You could have the same amount for over DOUBLE the calories. I bought some Haagen Das (sp?) Peanut butter and chocolate ice cream that was to DIE for!!! And it came in at 720 calories per cup. Yum yum!:] Slr-You and I might think it is weird that after large amounts of food (or what seem to US like large amounts) we are still hungry, but you know what? HEY! I am also a very active person/athlete. I am not in a sport right now so I go to the gym around 5-6 days a week. During the winter I play basketball and during the spring I play soccer. Also during the summer I swim and go to the gym. I eat 2800+ calories to maintain my weight...on friday I ate around 2000 and I lost a pound and a half. I really think you all should and could eat more. We athletes need our fuel :]

Hey girlies (and guys)!!! I am doing really well, amazing actually...I do not feel 100% today but that is ok. I cannot go to church b/c mom is sick though :( No nursery for me today. Yesterday was good, but I ate a lot in order to make up the calories I did not eat on Friday. (not really restricting just was with the BF and did not want to get up :) ) So yesterday I weighed and it said 7.7 pounds and I was still like backed up and needing to go! Today it read 110.something and guess what?! IT DID NOT EVEN BOTHER MY ONE BIT! We all fluctuate :) And I only ate an extra 800 cals yesterday so...there is no weigh (hehehe) that I could have gained 3 pounds from that! So it is all good! Feeling strong :] Aquaev-Hey! Sounds like you are doing pretty well! Glad to hear ballet was ok :] It will redistribute..trust me! It could take some time, but it will. I too have a butt again! Although I want it to stay. My whole lower body (butt thighs hips etc) is very built and muscular so I am okay with it. You will be ok too! Stop looking at yourself in a degrading way! You hear me?! Do not do it :] You are beautiful :] Slr-Sorry about the parents. That must be a real drag. Cinnamon aiding weight loss? Weird...I love cinnamon. But I bet you would have to eat a truckload at every meal to loose real weight! I agree with Aquaev I think you should show the post to your mom...maybe it could do some good to see a therapist too? :] Xmas-Although you see today as a bad thing, I think it is an AWESOME THING! You ate 2500 calories! I am SO proud of you...but you still need to go to the doctors FOR SURE. You are on the verge of death basically. You have kids you need to be here for right? Use them as motivation :] Saykyoku-Amazing job!!! Pizza is yummy and normal HEALTHY people eat it too. I had some like a week ago at my sleepover and you know what, I am still here today. I did not gain from it at all and I did not pass out. In fact, my friend(s) and I had a pizza/coke fight that was HILARIOUS :] Great job again :] I do have to disagree with you all on the fats. My nutritionist told me NOT to go below 25% and that would be considered low fat anyways. And during recovery, EAT ALL THE FAT YOU WANT! Trust me I know I did...I still eat sometimes as much as 4-5 T of all natural/organic PB a DAY :] You all are amazing and you are all beautiful :] Good day!

Agruskin-Funny you should mention that stomach thing with the granola. A few weeks ago I had some and that same day I got really sick. (like throwing up...) I have no idea if they are related but I thought I would let you know anyways :P Sorry about your family. Take a deep breath. Everything will be fine! hugs!
Twiggy-Be that giunea pig! What are your goals physically and mentally? But about the calorie requirement-I am 13("almost" 14 ;)...) and eat around 2800 to maintain(i do not really count though!). Now you will find around very low and very high numbers...most people in that dreaded YCC forum would say 1800+exercise is fine. I myself think that is a pile of...idk what! Lol...Just listen to your body, listen to it and give it what it needs and you will be fine (Easier said than done, trust me, I understand!) :] Aquaev-Your therapist is...hmm, how to put it? Umm, special :P! I really think she is probably doing more harm than good. There is nothing wrong w/ whole wheat pasta or being healthy! To be recovered does not mean you need to eat badly. I believe that it does taste wayyy better, so I am with you!!! :] Butterfly-Hugs! Okay babe you can do this! You have a friend/family member you could talk to? Anyone really...you need help girl! You can fight the fight and win...trust me. I have so much faith in you! I want to see you succeed. Life is precious. You do not want to end it! Aquaev-YAY for whole foods. Congrats on conquering that sample! I never ever used to eat the samples. Not even the fruit! I was worried over like 20 extra calories. How insane is that? But anyways, congrats on that and I am glad things with your fam is all good :] Aussie-I have only tried the LIGHT activias and that was a while ago, and I was not the hugest fan of them. Tastes like chemicals in a bottle to me! :/ If you were to get some, get the real, not LIGHT kind! I bet that one tastes better... :] xmasbaby-I have to agree w/ la. You really need some sort of outside help other than just yourself. I would suggest inpatient/outpatient. Really anything would be good though! ED are very hard to defeat w/o help from others. (Not saying that it is not possible!) Good luck and focus on your kids. I am sure they mean the world to you :] Agruskin-That nutritionist was literally a nut! I totally think you need to go for it and eat 2500+! Come on, you need to do it for your health and happiness. No one should be gaining weight on 2000 for this long! The kitchen is closed!) Snacks-Yogurt, grapes, fruit, ice cream... Not the most balanced day >.< Anyone have any suggestions to make on breakfast/lunch/snacks? (Dinner is usually cooked by me/mom/dad for my whole family and it is balanced. My mom keeps us healthy :] )

Isn't exercise antually enjoyable when you want to do it for being healthy instead of being obbsessive about it? I love it again! Have you ever tried laxitives? I mean, not for weight loss or using it for unhealthy measures, but I think it might help you feel better :] Being backed up=NOT FUN! Aquaev-I often feel the same way. I feel as though I need to save my hunger for at night. It can be really frustrating but I have gotten better :] Keep on going strong and you deserve way better than what that boy has to offer! Gibbit-Sorry that you have not been meeting your goals/not feeling well. That stinks! I hope you do not come down with something :[ I also really love being active and eating a lot. Slr-Great job! Eating is fun, isn't it? Indian food, hmm! Never really had it! Is it really yummy? What are the major foods of India? Like what is a typical meal like that you make? Sorry, lots of questions! Agruskin-As hard as it is, I think that is a really good thing that you realize how badly you look. That was something that I never realized until late in my recovery! I just wanted my life back and weight gain came with that obviously. I love getting my nails done! I actually painted my nails/toenails today :] All sorts of crazy colors because they make me happy! Do not worry about the 'B' average. We should not get too caught up on that. It does not know our bodies all that well anyways. Only we do! Theo-Great job on those eggs! I remember when I was deathly afraid of them too. Only like one at a time. But now I am just fine with eating 2, maybe even three, but that might be a bit much egg smell ;-) I think you rock too! Dragon-Yeah, although I was not one of those people to reply about the protein, you definitely DO NOT need that much. I have heard like 1/2 your weight in protein, but that is for adults. (I do not remember how old you are sorry!) Also protein can be very filling therefore it might not be best for weight gain. Carbs are probably your best bet. Screw that whole "Low carbs and loving it" mentality. That is a pile of crud. :-) You seem to have a very positive attitude and I love that! Aussie-Glad to hear the nutritionist went well! That seems like a very good idea. Just adding a snack or two and that can easily add like 500 calories! Peanut_butter-Of course we missed you :-) Kit-Kat...haven't had one of those in a while! I do not remember them being my favorite anyways. Gaining and building muscle. Cool! I have been trying to do similar things with my legs. I have gained a lot more strength in them so I am happy :) You were never and are not fat, but I hope you find a new found happiness in your body by working out! Good luck! I am doing pretty well today. I have gained around a pound and half, but 1) I probably need it since my body is growing! and 2) I had a lot of salt yesterday b/c we had like nothing here but rice cakes and regular peanut butter and pretzels, so no wonder I am retaining water/salt! But we went shopping today and I am back to my natural peanut butter and fruits and veggies, etc. so all good :) No worries. No need to get all worked up over a number on the scale. I am happy and healthy so NOTHING to worry about! You all are amazing, just to let you know! You are so positive and helpful! Oh and I worked nursery today after my Sunday school class at church. It was so much fun! We had around 12 babies and that was not even the whole class! I have the 12-16th month olds :-) I love kids...Have an awesome night tonight you all! Charliebo-Thanks for asking! School is actually going really really well. I really like all my teachers and classes. I also am right next to my boyfriends locker so that makes it nice, along with 2 classes with him. The homework load is not bad at all. I mean, it is managable while having a "life." I actually am not afraid to say that I like school! Lol...And as for after school/extracuricular activites does watching the middle school guys play soccer while I play hoops count? :] But yeah, I go to games, practices sometimes when my mom has a meeting. My mom is works at the school and I have to stay late(r) sometimes. Really, I feel like I live a busy life! No shortage of excitment that is. I will start basketball in ~2 months and then soccer after that season. I also made service prefect for the eighth grade. I will work with the other grades representatives and create ideas/things to do for service stuff like community service and such. Aquaev-Your food today sounds really yummy! You are right, it does not sound/look like a lot :| It has been kind of hard to find a set schedule for eating and the like. I mean, I need to get up earlier and bring snacks and pack a good lunch, but I feel like I just have no time! And I hate it when people use that excuse. I kind of feel like a hyprocrite LOL! But just forget about the 1/2 pound flunctuation. That is like..just what Agruskin said..a little blurp. Not as a mistake blurp but just like nothing! Not even a pound. Maybe try a blind weigh in next time? Really, there is nothing to worry about! You are probably not going to be 10_? whatever you are now. You should NOT be that weight forever. Breakfast-Organic oatmeal made w/ milk, blueberries Lunch-Organic PB and organic jelly sandwich on WW, kashi crackers, and organic apple Dinner-Pork roast, carrots, onions, and potatoes(all cooked together in a crock pot...YUM YUM!) Snacks-Yogurt, B+J'S, apple, fruit leather, organic PB, organic banana, dark chocolate Wow..that looks like not a lot, but I am positive it was around 2600 calories. Fhchicky-Congrats on the soccer! I love sports so I completely understand. That breakfast sounds really good too! Toasttoasttoast-About the Ensure. I have never actually had them, and gained all twenty of my pounds without any supplement foods/drinks. I have heard mixed feelings towards them. The positive is that once you are done gaining, you can simply cut them out of your diet and you will barely notice. Also, it is an easy way to get cals in. BUT the negative is that they are often nasty tasting and not appetizing. Everyone is different, so you may like them...I would personally suggest eating real, whole foods. Agruskin-Sorry to hear about the salad issue. Although I bet you do have some portion size problems, that it truly was too much. But good job anyways! I really need to try that salad...I hate it when they call it "grilled" when it really isn't! Try and have some though. Just think about how far you have come. You are not going to let some chicken get in the way! You can do it girl. Cannot wait to hear how about how good it was :] Go go go! Oh and I always feel better after showering! Always... Hi! I am kind of new to this thread.(Or post, I do not really know what to call it!) But I am always looking on here! You all eat such yummy and interesting things. I find it very helpful. I am usually posting in the Weight Gainers ''What did you eat...?" although I am no longer trying t gain weight, just listening to my body :] Reached my goal weight of 108...gained a total of twenty pounds and I probably would consider myself recovered! :] Life is amazing! Breakfast-TOTAL cereal w/ skim milk, and some blueberries Lunch-Organic rosemary -something- bread topped w/ a little butter and mayo, chopped chicken, provolone and some s&p...put that under the broiler and MMM! also had some grapes and blueberries Snacks-All natural string cheese, organic apple, Fiber-one yogurt Dinner-An omelet made with two whole eggs and one egg white, broccoli, red bell pepper, green onions(scallions), red onion, tomato, parsley...two slices of whole wheat bread one topped w/ organic blueberry jam and the other w/ organic PB Snack 1-Organic apple, kashi cookie spread with organic peanut butter and a piece of all natural dark chocolate stuck to it Snack 2-Grapes and blueberries, farmers market apple(s) sliced up and cinnamon sugar sprinkled on them! Great and yummy food day today! If you haven't already noticed, I am REALLY into the all natural, organic foods :] |

I talked to my N about it and she said that they are actually great for you and full of magnesium/iron...do not remember which or it may have been both. Agruskin-How about a big bowl of ice cream with peanut butter mixed in? Or some cereal w/ toast w/ peanut butter? You might just have to mix and match. I really hate having to do that though! Try and find something good...peanut butter is probably your best bet! Slr-Um, I do not really know, but I would go with real butter all the way! I love organic full circle butter or Land o' Lakes b/c it is pure and natural. Nothing wrong with butter! |

Agruskin-I definitely get your wanting to get a job and move out. I am sure they are nice people, but they really should help you out a bit! As for dinner, what do you have? Maybe go out by yourself or go to the grocery store! Treat yourself. You deserve it. It would drive me bonkers, so I bet you are one of the most patient people! And I have not had my snack yet. I am at ~2000....although I am just going to listen to myself and have what I want :] But it needs to equal at least 2500-2800!(hopefully the latter) I have a nutritionist app. and I cannot weigh less! That would be really bad....Anyways, I am so eating again, I love my night snacking :] Try and hang it there. *HUGS* |
