Count me in! I am in desperate need of help and support. I seem to go up and down depending on the craziness of my life! Aug. of '08 I was training for a marathon and I got as low as 139...had 4 more lbs. to my goal...which never happened. Since then I have been stedily going up. I made it as far as 169 and decided enough was enough! So, here I am 164.4...not happy, but I am on my way down. I can feel the modivation running through my veins! My goal for now is to make it to 144, fit and ready for another marathon! Not sure how long that will take, but I'm willing to do the work to get there. Starting weight: 164.4 I'll post my measurments tomorrow. I took them last week and they are at home. |

yes, yes, yes...count me in! I have actually been working very hard since this past Monday so I am very ready for a buddy to be accountable to and for in our daily efferts! I too have two kiddos but I am not active with them in the evening lately as we have just recently installed a home theater system so our evenings right now are spent watching movies and snuggling on the couch, but I do workout twice a day to make up for it. My short term goal is to lose 15 lbs. (4.6 down already), so I have 10.4 to go...but my ultimate goal is to lose another 10-15 lbs after that. |

Hey Brooke...our stats are about the same, other than the fact that I am almost twice your age. I feel so young until I say crap like that! Anyways...5'7", weighted in today at 156 and would love to be 140 by Sept 15th. Since it appears that so many are interested in assisting you, why don't we all just keep this tread going and show our progress and tell each other what we are doing to attain our goals? Pretty much the same stats as everyone else, only 37, but compared to most of you...I am the old lady in the group! 5'7" and the weight depends on the day. On Monday's I'm usually 159 or 160 and by Friday I am 156 or 157. Unfortunately it is TTOTM, but none the less, I have decided that this is the week I am going to make a significant difference. Goal weight is 135 for now, but would really LOVE to be 130, someday! Today I was 159...went to the gym and did the elliptical for 30 minutes, a few weights and crunches this morning and I will be doing two-a-days this week so I will also be going running either at lunch or when I get home from work. I, like many of you start out strong...but then I fizzel out. So, my first question is...I know most of you are on Day 3 or more, would you mind if I started today? I REALLY need the modivation! I have been working out pretty consistantly for about 4 weeks now (M-F only) and I am not seeing a difference AT ALL, so I have decided I need to add something other than just the cardio I do. Stats: 37, 5'7", 157lbs. Last Aug I was 139 and going down, down, down...but since then I have done nothing but go up, up, up! If it's too late to join, no problem... |

Congrats to livsmomma and imcoolsoni...WOW...hard to top this week! I'm very jealous! Got on the scale and haven't gained or lost...I know I should be happy, but I feel like I should really be losing at this point. I have been working out every weekday for over 2 weeks now and even if I hadn't changed my eating habits (which I have), I should be losing...so what's the problem? I just don't get it! Going to try kicking it up a notch...started the 30DS today after work in addition to going to the gym in the morning. I know I can't be real good for the next two weekends and I don't know that I want to be, have a lot going on. But this means I have to be extra good for the next two weeks from M-F! Congrats to everyone for sticking with it! We can do this...we already are! |

I am SO in...I have got to lose this blasted weight! Tin...you and I have pretty much the same stats...I'm 5'7" I started at 180, got down to 138 and now I am back to 158 and climbing. I have to get back to the 130's before October...for no one else or nothing else but for me! I have been going to the gym every weekday for the last two weeks...I only missed yesterday because it was my little girls b-day and I took the day off work to spoil her rotten! Ok...so I was so sore from doing day 1, that I could not possibly have done it on Friday for day 2, then Saturday I was not home and yada, yada, yada... So, tonight my hope is that since I have recently done the first day and gotten out all of the soreness, I should have no trouble starting again today. With that said, I will also start my count over...I know I will miss some days, as I will be out of town for the next 3 weekends, but I promise that I will get in as many days as possible. My other promise to myself is that if I miss 3 or more days in a row, I will have to start my count over. Today will be a test...I have two 6 year old girls spending the night since tomorrow is my daughters birthday...if I can manage to get a workout in tonight, then there is nothing left to stop me! I will update tomorrow. |

Cdp447 - don't get discouranged...Rome wasn't built in a day and the weight didn't just show up overnight! You can do this...just remember that all day long if you need to! Made the mistake of stepping on the scale today...only lost .2, but I guess I should still be happy. Maybe I will eat better today and since I am working out twice, I hope to see a bigger difference tomorrow. So last night I finally started running again...went 4.8 miles and boy was it hard! Got up this morning though and went to boot camp class and again, hard, but loved that I did it! Going back to the gym tonight...my workout buddy called yesterday to see if I wanted to go...I said HECK YEAH! Hopefully I'm back on track and going in the right direction for a change...:-) Good luck all and remember, nothing tastes as good as being thin feels... |

Hi All! I am so in on this one! My birthday is May 25th, what a great present to myself...shedding 10 lbs. I'm 36 (will be 37) 5'7" CW: 151.4 GW: 139 I know that is more than 10 lbs, but I think the first 5 will come off pretty easy and fast, since I have been completely out of control for the past month. Hope it's not too late to join. I really need some help...I have a trip coming up in 2 1/2 weeks and my origianl goal was to be 139 for it, however I went on an eating spree and gained the 10 lbs. I wanted to lose. So now I have lost 5 of those lbs. but I have to do something to get myself under control. Height: 5'7" Age: 36 (for another month) SW: 151.4 GW: 139 4/30- GW: 149 AW: 5/7- GW: 145 AW: 5/14- GW: 143 AW: 5/21: GW: 139 AW: Main goal: 139 Reward: Mani/Pedi I know that I posted more than 10 lbs, but I really think the first 5 will come off easy, as I have been very bad for the last month. With upping my water consumption and adding back exercise, I don't think my goal is out of reach. |

I'll make my advise short and sweet...give yourself one day a week. Do the best you can do throughout the week and let Friday night be a free night. If you have a craving on Tuesday, tell yourself that you can have that on Friday. Most times by Friday you won't want whatever it was. My husband used to give himself from Friday night and all day Saturday as free days, but durring the week he was REALLY good. I am trying this approach and it really seems to be working. I like knowing that I have one night that I can have something and NOT feel guilty for eating it. I wish I could do both Friday and Saturday, but that is too much for me...I would eat more than needed if I gave myself that much time. Hope this helps and good luck! |

Cori, I only made it an hour on the elliptical because I now have a gym buddy I go with and she made me...:) My son is 9 and has been running with me for about a year now. He ran his first half marathon last October and finished in 2:24:48. We always run together on Saturday mornings and we are trying to get more runs in during the week, now that the weather had gotten better. He is pretty fast, so I am usually glad to have him along. On Wed. we ran 4 miles in about 39 minutes...and then he sprinted at the end and left me in the dust. I do know what you mean though, there are definitely days when I wish I could go my pass and not feel like I am running him too hard. When he first started running with me last year, it was a real drag. I would have to get MY run in during lunch so I wouldn't get mad that he couldn't keep up on our runs together. Now I have a hard time keeping up with him sometimes. My daughter on the other hand, is only 5 and has just started running. He can only make it about 1.5 miles right now, so we just squeeze that in when we can, but she wants to go all the time. She will be participating in her first 5k this summer and she is really excited about it. |

Cori, Thanx...I have been working very hard (this week) and yes, I am seeing the results! I don't usually have much of an opportunity to exercise, since my husband is a full-time student and we have 2 children. However, right now my hubby is being REALLY supportive and giving me just about anytime I want to get to the gym (even if it makes it difficult on him), and I am taking full advantage of it. Had such a great workout at the gym this evening...used the elliptical for one hour and went hard! Came home and ate, but I stuck with only things that are 100 calories. Had a bowl of soup and a pear, 200 calories total, and I'm stuffed! How old is your son? Do you two run much?

Holy cow...all my work is paying off! Last night my son and I ran 4 miles and I really restricted my eating yesterday...this morning...144.5! I know this is still really high, but considering last week I saw 150, this week it just seems to be melting off. So, I am down 3 lbs. from where I am calling my start (even if it's not really my start), and 7 to go...I finally believe I can do this! Went to boot camp class this morning at 6:00 and back to the gym for 1 hour on the elliptical after work...YIPPIE!!! |

I know that it is difficult to find the time to workout, but know that when I make the time, I eat less and I eat better. Not even intentionally, just naturally. When I workout I have no desire for all those horrible things I normally want while sitting at my desk... My stats... CW: 146.3 - GW: same as yours...128 (135 by April 28th), age: old compared to you...36 almost 37, height: 5'7"... So in all actuality, you are thinner than me and way younger so it will be easier for you to lose, not to mention, you haven't had any children yet (I have 2) and now I no longer like you and want to be your partner!! Just kidding...we can and will do this...more later |

Coffeelover... Sounds like we have the same goal...135 now and 128 sometime in May or June is my ultimate goal. I will help make you accountable, if you do the same for me. What are your stats, i.e., how tall r u, age, weight today, etc? Right now I am losing the same 10 lbs over and over again and I am really tired of it. I will get to 141 and then shoot back up to 147 - AAARRRGGGGG!!! I have decided since I have a trip planned for the middle of May I have to start moving in the right direction. You asked about caloric intake...I'm not one for counting calories (which is probably my main problem), but I know when I make bad choices and I try to make the right ones. Yesterday I was in the grocery store, picked up something bad for me and some Luna Bars, got all the way to the register and asked myself what I was thinking. So I gave it to the girl behind the counter, paid for only my Luna Bars and out the door I went! One good choice at a time...that's how I will do this! I was able to go crazy yesterday and get to the gym in the morning for an hour and got back in the evening for another hour and a half. So I weighed this morning...146.3. Not good I know, but considering I started this week at 150...very happy!!! Since 147 seems to be my "natural" weight these days, that is what I am considering my start weight, so I am officially 1.7 down, even though I have lost more than that...can't count the pig out days where I got up to 150 (I could have choked myself)! So I have 11.3 to go by April 28th, that gives me 6 weeks...that's almost 2 lbs. a week. It will be difficult, but possible, with NO ROOM FOR ERROR! Supposed to go running with my kids after work, then my husband is going to take our daughter so my son and I can go alone...he's a running machine and won't let me stop! Hoping to get in 7 miles...wish me luck! Hope everyone has a great day...and remember...one good choice at a time! |

Coffeelover...you and I are in the same boat. I have gained 3 lbs. this week...not a good week! I know that I am not eating right, so today I am going to try my best to change that. I started trying to be more aware yesterday and I lost 1 of those stinkin' lbs. So what all this means to me is that now I am down 1 week, but still have to lose 12 lbs. This is not good, but possible! We can do this! This morning I was able to go to they gym for a boot camp class and tonight both kids have soccer practice (at different times) so I will be able to workout for 2 hours this evening too....I am actually really excited about that. Maybe it is just what I need to get in the right frame of mind. Impiquette...you and I are also the same in that I do great all day, then I get home and blow it all. Not because I limit my calories so much that I can't take it when I get home, but because there is more food at home than at work. The worst part about it is that I don't keep bad food in my house, my kids have their candy drawer and I am not interested in it, but my problem is that too much of anything (even good for you food) is bad for you! Once I start I just have a difficult time stopping. My goal this week is to really increase the water intake. This means when I get home, instead of heading to the pantry, head to the faucet, fill up and drink up. I am really hoping this helps. I have a trip planned in 8 weeks (May 14th) and I cannot be more that 135...not sure how I am going to manage this, but I can do it! I think I am going to have to become obsessed with exercise. At least the weather is turning nice here! Sorry for the long post, but sometimes I think while I type, which really helps me, but makes for a long post. Good Choices, small portions, lots of exercise...we can do it!!! (still trying to convince myself) :-) |

Alright...I went to the gym this morning and took a "boot camp" class...I think I might even be able to get back to the gym this evening. My son has soccer practice at the Rec. Park, so while he does that I will run...so wish for NO RAIN (even though we really need it)!!! Going to try my hardest to keep my eating under control, which is my real problem. Count me in too...I have to lose around 12 lbs, but would like to lose 17 total - over time. Going on a trip in 9 weeks (May 14th) and I would love to have that 12 lbs gone. Going to see a friend I haven't seen in 11 years and pre-babies! Been running for about a year, but I have been lazy lately. Just recently got starting getting back into the exercise thing.
