Health & Support Anybody know anything about cytomel? Jul 09 2008

I starting my 2nd week on Cytomel and really don't feel much difference.  I was only going to give it about 2 weeks and then find a dr to prescribe Armour, but after reading the posts I will give it at least 4 weeks.

My concern is that my endo isn't giving me enough to make a difference and that he only prescribed .5mcg, 1/2 morn & 1/2 night to stop me from complaining about taking just the T4 Lyvoxol.  I'm considering upping it on my own to .5mcg morn & .5mcg at night to start.   Any thoughts?

I am curious to know how anyone is doing with the HAIR LOSSon Cytomel. Has it helped at all?  I am really scared that pretty soon my head will be hairless. I have been losing my hair steadily for about 18 months now.

I was just perscribed Cytomel by my endo to go along with my .75 Levoxyl.  My thyroid was removed 3 years ago and have been on only Levoxyl for all that time.  Was doing fine then about a year an half ago started gaining weight and losing my hair, sooo tired all the time.  My endo has changed my dosage of Levoxyl about three time without any change in my symptoms. Asked him to let me try Aromour Thyroid but he refused to perscribe it.  After threating to change drs. he perscribed Cytomel to go along with the Levoxyl ,only .5 mcg per day. 1/2 in the morn and 1/2 at night.  I was glad to read about your experience.  I have been gaining weight so fast without any change in my lifestyle.  Has anyone had any side effects from Cytomel?  I plan on giving this about 4 weeks to see if there's any change then finding a dr who will consider the Armour Thyroid.  Have been with my Endo for over 10 years but might need to change. Has anyone been on the Armour Thyroid?
