Female, 31 years old

small frame

5'2"

size 1/2 pants

size small shirt

I am finally at a place where I like wearing tight tops, never thought I would see that day again!  lol

Weight Loss What is your pant size? Nov 21 2009

I'm 5'2", 112 pounds and wear a size 1/2, however I have super tiny hips, no butt and short legs so my pants never really look right.  I've been thinking about hitting up the girls department and seeing if I can find some that fit better and might be cheaper!!  LOL

I am 5'2" and 112 pounds and have this horrible middle, I have a 27 inch waist and 32 inch hips!  I can wear a size 1/2 but only because of my tiny hips.  I would love to lose my belly but I'm not sure if anything will work other then a tummy tuck, I have 6 kids which hasn't helped at all.

I have been in the 112-114 range since August and can't figure out how to get out of it! I started at 143 in March.

Congratulations on your weight loss!  Your measurements are tiny!  How long has it been since your 6th child was born?  Maybe you just have extra skin...

Thanks, my youngest is 17 months old but the longest I've gone before getting pregnant again (in 10 years) is 18 months so I haven't quite passed that yet!  lol  We aren't having any more kids so I'd like to get my belly back as much as I possibly can.  I do have a lot of extra skin on my belly though.

I'm not sure what a good weight for 5'6" is but I started in March at 143 and am now 112 (I am 5'2").  You have to start somewhere, I remember trying to do a half hour of jazzercise and feeling like I was dying but now I recently ran my first half marathon last month and work out with Jillian Michaels (which is not easy! lol).  I kept the jazzercise up and did the Wii Fit and it got easier and easier.  Then I added different exercise dvds and eventually started running but everything I did I did at home.  I also cut my calories to 1500 per day.

So just start where you can with the exercise and be consistent!

Good for you!!!!  I ran my first 5K in June of this year and it was such an awesome experience!  As soon as the race was over I was asking when the next one was.  :)  I tried to pick a goal I wanted to acheive - for me it was under 30 minutes and I came in at 28:01, my next race I wanted to beat my personal record of 22:55 but fell short.  It's always nice to have your own goal in mind and whether you beat it or not it's all about finishing!!

Good luck!!

I am 10 years older *sigh* but also 5'2" and 112-113 pounds and stuck!  I lost a pound last week by switching up my workout routine but it seems to have vanished already.  It's like my body is just super happy at this weight and doesn't want to budge no matter what.  I am 10 pounds heavier then I was in high school but can wear the same sizes.  However, I am positive I have lots more muscle then I did back then.

Original Post by needtofinallylose:

You have a Waist to Hip Ratio of 0.84 :(!!!!!!!!!!, so in order for me to be .7, my waist would have to be 22-24

We have the exact same measurements (at least on bottom) - mine are 32-27-32 and I HATE my waist!  I've had 6 kids so some of it is skin but it's mostly fat I guess.  I can't imagine ever getting my waist to 22-25 inches, I started at 38 inches so I've come a LONG way but it's turning out to be the hardest part for me to get toned.

I have no clue how I gave birth to 6 kids (one who was 8lbs 12oz) and still have 32 inch hips!! ROFL

For me it has been fairly easy to get to a size 2 but I am 5'2" 112 pounds and have a very small frame, I could probably get into a smaller size then a 2 but haven't tried.  My hips are super small but I carry all my weight in my belly.  :(  My wonderful hubby tells me I am built like a little boy!  haha

I don't know but I'm having the same problem!  I ran a half on October 18th and average 8:30 per mile - I was on top of the world for days and feeling amazing but my running has suffered.  I should be able to do 6 mile runs easily but am finding myself walking after 4.  :(  I have cut back on my running and am doing more cross training before I start training for another half in January and hopefully it will get better!

Fitness RUNNERS--what do you think of when you're running? Nov 05 2009

I honestly think only 5 more miles to go, only 4 more miles to go, only 3 more miles to go.....etc.  Probably doesn't help me any but that's what I do!! lol  I also try and concentrate on my form so I think about that quite a bit.

Fitness What is a good 5K time? Nov 03 2009

A good 5K time is whatever time you finish in.  Wink   Honestly, I always try and just beat my previous time.  My first 5K was 28:01 and I crushed it 2 months later coming in at 22:55 but then 2 months after that was a minute slower at 23:55!! LOL  Once you find your best time you just work on improving it, no matter how impossible it seems.  hehe

Just keep at it and you'll be amazed at how much you can improve!

Weight Loss I ate 3500+ calories for 2 days. Nov 03 2009

Before I started losing weight I was 143 pounds and ate 3,000-4,000 calories per day without ever gaining.  Now I'm sure that would have caught up with me eventually but at 5'2" I was only 7 pounds overweight (based on BMI).  I did zero exercise as well, mostly just sat in front of the tv or computer all day.

If you type my age (31), weight back then and lifestyle into a calorie calculator it will tell you I needed to maintain by eating roughly 1700 calories per day but I was double that.

It's just funny how every person's needs are sooo different and they just need to figure out what works best for them.

I was wearing an 11 when I started and now am in a 3 - or in womens a 10 and now a 2.  However, lots depends on the brands and when I was 143 pounds there were some size 9's I could squeeze into.

I'm 5'2" and right now anywhere from 112-114 pounds.  I've lost 30 pounds by sticking to 1500 calories per day.  I got that from a calculator where I put in all my info and how much exercise I do so your calories seem ok to me......

I started losing weight in March and my hair loss was very noticable in July when I had lost around 15-20 pounds.  I've lost 31 pounds total and oddly enough have days where the loss is very bad and days where it isn't noticable at all.  I began taking a multivitamin every day so see if it helped and it's hard to say.  I also starting running more in July and don't know if that could affect it or not.

I ran my first half marathon last weekend and was planning to do a full in April but I loved the mini so much I'm going to do that again instead!  I also realized how much training time has to go into a marathon and with 6 young kids I started thinking maybe I should wait until they are all in school!  But with 6 months of training it is definitely possible!!

I don't know if this is the same thing but I have a weak right side and it is specfically due to my hip.  I goggled some exercises to help strengthen my hip and am going to work on those.  I am a runner and it is really affecting things, my left side is having problems from overcompensating for my weak right side and my right hip and ankle are hurting.  :(

I got mine in September 2008 and LOVE it!  LOL  I don't think I gained anything but I didn't lose either.  I started dieting/exercising in March of this year and have lost over 30 pounds so it's not affecting my ability to lose weight at all.  However, I am a person who never had trouble with the pill either.

Original Post by wannahotbod:

I am 20 and am starting tomorrow and am excited! I'm 5'2 and right now my goal is 108 lbs by thanksgiving (I think I'm somewhere around 113-115 now), and then maybe I'll go for 105 once I get there! I used to be 105 and that was the best I've ever looked!

kelly827, how many calories do you eat a day? I'm new and trying to figure out how much I should eat, I workout 5 days and run like 6-7 miles those days and lift 3 days a week.

I stick to 1500 per day, sometimes a little less and sometimes a little more but not over 1800.  If I put in a 12 mile run there's no way I can stay at 1500 that day!  lol

At first the weight came off quickly but now it's much slower - I was at 114.4 on August 26th and today am at 112.8 but I'm guessing that's because I don't really have much left to lose!

I am 31 years old, 5'2", small frame and currently 113 pounds.  I started at 143 in March but have been up and down over the years having 6 kids.  Before I had any kids I was 95lbs and could eat like a pig.  *sigh*  My body will never be the same but I am happy fitting into a size 3 again!!  lol

My goal started at 125 then dropped 120, then 115 and is now 110!  Honestly I would probably be happy at 105 but I think my hubby would think it is too skinny.  I will be training for a marathon next winter/spring and will probably get down as far my body wants during that training.
